in the meantime come to horrifying realization there's like zero yan clorinde content so everyone sit down and listen to my ted talk (this is a requirement I have locked the doors and blocked the fire exits)
personally don't think Clorinde leans towards threats to be honest. she'd feel horrible and guilty if she did and I don't think she could handle you hating her or being afraid of her (maybe if you pushed her far enough then maybe she could justify it because she's trying to protect you but you'd really have to push it).
imo? leans more towards following you around with a hint of subtle manipulation behinf the scenes0. even if it's within the confines of the Court of Fontaine and the place is swarming with Gardemeks you can never be too sure. absolutely fumbles the excuse if you catch her though (if)
the epitome of gentleman, too. she "bumps" into you a lot and always offers to help– even if it's just a few small bags she takes them from you to help ease your burden, basically following you around like a lost puppy. it's a lot easier to trust the nice, polite woman who helped you then the stilted, awkward woman desperate for your attention.
her reluctance to threaten you or force you to do anything doesn't extend to people you know, though. she can cook up any manner of crime that'd get them stuck fighting a duel with her or dealing with a trial that'd get them sent straight to the fortress.
of course, the first thing she'd do is make sure you're okay. she still cares about you (and she really doesn't mean to manipulate you, but really, don't you find it odd that everyone around you is so sketchy? you should be more careful about who you trust. you trust her though, dont you?).
clorinde is very much in for the long game, in the end. she'd only kidnap you as a last resort. she'd much prefer slowly getting closer to you and having you come with her of your own free will (even if it's because she's been planting ideas in your head that you really aren't safe all alone like this. all your friends turned out to be criminals, after all, and what if they start to blame you and try to hurt you? it's best that you stay with her for a while)
if you had a lover, though? oh, she's livid. she makes sure to pin an absolutely heinous crime on them– one that would involve you. after all, she could swoop in and play savior after killing that wretched pest. she did save you from their alleged plan, after all.
a bit awkward with physical affection to be honest, but she tries in her own way. she does what she can to make your life easier– protects you, makes sure you have a roof over your head and nice clothes, a bed and warm baths, expensive foods..anything you want, she would get you without even asking.
why would you ever want to leave? don't you know how dangerous it is outside? who would take care of you if not her? she provides you with all you need, and with only the best (please don't leave)
basically your personal guard dog. she won't bite if you just listen to her and stay put.
and she's just absolutely smitten. careful if you actually use her gifts, because she'll think you're reciprocating her affection whether you are or not. you'll be drowning in new clothes, always trying need food..and she'll always be hovering over your shoulder, watching.

Absolutely bonkers trying to find a fic where Nancy and Steve talk about her cheating on him in S2 and literally the whole ao3 tag besides like. Two? is filled with Steve cheating fics??? As though. He would do that???
I am a firm believer in just keep scrolling. Saying He Would Not Do That and moving on. But I find it fascinating in a frustrating way that such a fundamental and early introduced part of Steve (his extreme sensitivity to infidelity) is just. Reversed? Like I can and have forgiven a lot of characterizations I don't particularly agree with in fic. It happens in Fandom all the time. I just don't understand how you could see him in either S1 or 2 and think yeah...this guy would cheat...That's just a completely different guy for the most part at that point. Blows the mind

All i'll say is
Believing that Dr*am is a groomer does not mean you have any moral high ground to judge people who don't think he is.
This situation is complex and both side have pretty damning evidence on the other. You can't blame either side for believing what they believe.
You are ALLOWED to hate Dream, you are allowed to not feel comfortable around people who are fans of him. You are allowed to think he is a groomer without being attacked for it.
You are NOT allowed to tell people to end their own life or that they're a "pedo defender". Holding moral judgement about people you dont even fucking know personally in a situation like this is not helping anyone.
I'm not gonna say what I personally believe because no one's fucking buiseness. All I want to say is that the trend of judging people's morality in situation like this is just purely a way to make yourself feel better.
We live in the real world, sometimes situations aren't black and white.
Idc make assumptions about this if you want, internet genuinely has been fucking vile recently and my hope in people's critical thinking skills have sunk to an all time low.
This isn't even about Dream I'm gonna be honest although the issue is especially worse with him. You could replace him with a piece of fucking cheese and I would say the same thing.
It's not just Twitter, the internet from the beginning has instilled into people such a chronic fear of being a bad person, it's rotted people's brains.
Leading to shit like policing queer identities and supporting people's horrid behavior for the sake of feeling superior, of feeling like you're the one in the right.
I'm so sick of people constantly fighting eachother, it's disheartening to see the internet has just become like this now. I've had panic attacks thinking of how people would perceive me for opinions I DIDNT EVEN SHARE on the internet back in the day. For fucking enjoying content people saw as problematic.
People act like they're doing this to help people or a cause but let's be honest what good are you fucking doing beefing with random people on social media ? What are you acheiving ? You can't tell me people don't find personal satisfaction in feeling morally superior to someone.
Btw if you take anything in this post out of context or look into my other posts to try and assume shit about me, you are what this post is about. Fuck off and don't ever fucking interact with me.
Anyways, probably gonna take a break from social media outside of discord and youtube (idk if they count as social media but idc). Might change dependent on if I get hate for this post or not and if I something to brainrot about.
This rant was ruminating in my brain for a long time I'd argue even before the Green Bitch was in the picture but it definitely became the tipping point for me to realise that the majority of people on the Internet are just Awful.

[ID from alt: Two pages from chapter 101 of the Natsume's Book of Friends manga. Natsume faces Matoba, holding Nyanko-sensei and standing in front of Hiiragi. He says, "Mr. Matoba?! What are you doing here?" Matoba says, "I came to rescue you." Natsume, surprised, says, "What?" Sensei says, "Here they come" as he looks at the sky behind Matoba. Matoba smiles without turning around as Ban's wooden puppets fly toward his back. He turns his head as a paper doll whizzes past, toward the puppets. As Matoba stands there calmly, several paper dolls whoosh past him to collide with the puppets. Sensei says, "Paper dolls?!" Natsume thinks, "Those are…" and turns to look behind him in the direction the dolls came from, where Natori has appeared. Natori says, "Good, you're safe! This way!" /end ID]
matoba trusts natori so completely to handle the puppets that he just stands there totally relaxed as malevolent entities target his unprotected back. doesn't lift a finger to defend himself. okay. hot.
also what's funny is this is the exact same energy matoba was giving off in world unbent when their positions were exactly reversed - back then it was natori who was standing right in front of the threat and matoba who was shooting around natori to attack it. matoba is now confident in natori's abilities in the same way he's confident in his own - though as we see later in this same arc, he's also aware that he's capable of things natori isn't. he doesn't need natori to be exactly on his level, he just understands what natori can do and adjusts his behavior to leave those things to natori and to focus his own efforts on the things he's better at. he's strategizing as a team, under the assumption that natori has his back, under the assumption that they're working together and that they know how to do that. the competence & confidence & compatibility & trust! three whole chapters before he and natori do their incredibly sexy joint spellcasting, matoba is already fully in battle couple mode. not to put too fine a point on it but hot hot sexy hot.
