Also this picture. This happens after Lucas picked Riley. Now the mouth is saying get off me, but the body language is saying I got you. also they both look so happy here. It's insane that these two didn't end up together. And Farkle's expression in the background? He knows, the expression chang? could he be realising Maya still likes Lucas? Or is he worried Riley will see? I don't know but he starts off looking slightly amused then changes to almost sad. As the person who is always said to be bad at emotions, he actually seems like one of the best at noticing others' emotions. He may not understand his own emotions but he understands others. Also this isn't relevant but I'm pretty sure Zay ships Lucaya more and, as Lucas's best friend and longest friend, Idk, he's the least invested in Riley's personal happiness, not that he dosn't want her to be happy but I feel like he'd prioritise Lucas' happiness, so if he prefers Lucaya that says a lot for me personally. I've been slowly getting back into GMW recently and I remembered that I made a whole episode list for post-canon GMW and I never shared it anywhere! I wrote episode titles and summaries from Season 4 to Season 11 but I never finished it and so it never got posted anywhere but I kind of want to try again?

The main plot points that I can remember were:

Riley and Lucas break up amicably in season 4

There is a two-parter around the end of season 4 where Maya calls Riley out for trying to force her to stay unhappy because I needed that

Maya finds out she's a lesbian around early season 5 but doesn't tell anyone until later

When she does tell people she gets a two part episode because she has to sort out the whole open ended Josh situation

Riley has a couple love interests here and there

IMPORTANT: Farkle figures out Maya likes Riley, and she begs him not to tell her. He keeps it a secret the whole show even though he doesn't want to.

In season 6 we see a bit more of Shawn shining through Maya as we get her dating era

Jack and Eric are living together again by the end of season 6

Season 7 I'm pretty sure is when I introduced Shawn and Katy having a baby together

Maya obviously has her 'I won't get into college' moment because she's that character

At the end of Season 7, Farkle and Smackle leave to go to Princeton and the rest go to NYU (I wanted at least some of them to split up because they always bait us with that drama but never give it)

Season 8 is college! Riley and Maya are obviously roommates so are Lucas and Zay

Maya gets a girlfriend who stays until Season 9 (keep in mind she's still in love with Riley)

Season 9 we have a lot of Riley trauma. She starts to realise she likes girls too and she does NOT take it well

(I wanted her journey to be a lot slower and harder because she's VERY sheltered)

Eric is the first person to figure it out before she tells anyone and he also senses something between Riley and Maya

SEASON 10 IT RILAYA TIME BITCHES!!

Yeah they get together that's all I have for season 10

And season 11 is just a lot of fluff and goodbyes as Maya goes to her art gallery in Soho and Lucas goes to veterinary school and the others do something idk

I basically just wrote the whole thing now but I had to get it our of my system, maybe one day I'll write a huge fic series about this but probably not

even if Lucaya wasn't an option I still wouldn't ship Joshaya, never have, never will. If not Lucaya then Maya and Zay, or honestly pretty much anyone but Josh. Like when I ship lucaya its not just oh I prefer them over joshaya, because to me, anything would be better than that. She could date any member of the forest group or an OC, I'd still prefer that to Joshaya. Joshaya is a plot convenience.

She can pretend shes in love with josh, play the long game, even though she still likes lucas. It makes things feel less awkward for the group and she can reject people and use this as a reason.

Also still confused by Riley going from "you're not gonna be my aunt, I don't want you to be my aunt" to just not caring. I too would not want my childhood friend to be my aunt tbf. But yeah not much point to this other than saying Joshaya honestly is my least favourite ship. Its like one of the only notps I have. It's not even really for the age gap reasons or anything. I've shipped far more obviously toxic things. It just never really did anything for me as a ship. I just never cared

Girl Meets "I am Farkle;" or Girl Meets Ableism?

third rewatch of Girl Meets World and i'm still not comprehending why people hate " Girl Meets I am Farkle." i reacted to my diagnosis of Borderline Personality the same way Maya reacts to Farkle maybe having Autism.

i had a previous psychiatrist. one who—already treating me for OCD, & traumatic experiences—said there was “no doubt {i} had autism” despite the fact that i had several documents; every one of them said “inconclusive results for ASD; or ASD unlikely.” documents reported that the only diagnoses i had are:

Cerebral Palsy {spastic quad type}

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder {severe}

Generalised Anxiety Disorder {moderate to severe}

i told him to reconsider. all he said was that i needed to watch “Love on the Spectrum”

months later, after months begging, i found out that outpatient psych wrote ASD on my medical history; a year later, after extensive testing, it was determined—by a neuropsychologist—that ASD is not possible and that traditional methods of testing would be unnecessary and inaccurate.

i know a thing or two about ableism. i very very very much appreciate this episode. actually one of my favourite GMW episodes! :)
