the evolution of zuko in every series i have ever watched or read, zuko hands down has the best redemption and character development of every character and i will stand by that statement to the grave.

I feel like Jet would be furious with himself that he fell in love with Lee.

And it’ll take him ages to confess to the fact out loud.

He would know that he is in love almost immediately as it happens… because his heart would be racing every time Lee is late for the check in point, and his thoughts would be restless with unreasonable worry unable to focus on anything else.

And he would feel literal shocks go through his body every time they as much as brush their hands.

And sometimes he would zone out just looking at Lee as he speaks, and he would feel the corners of his mouth go up unintentionally.

So yeah, he would know for sure that he is in love, but he would try to hide or suppress it for a long time…

Because being in love makes you vulnerable and chaotic! And maybe, if he doesn’t say it out loud, it will just go away?

And he would be so angry at his stupid heart for choosing the worst freaking moment in his life, and probably the very wrong person, to fall in love.

So when he does finally say it out loud (cuz he realizes that the feeling is just growing stronger with each day), it sounds angry and not at all how the love confession should sound.

But Lee’s brows go up, and he looks totally confused and scared. And then he blushes lightly, and his expression turns into frown, and he looks up at the sky to avoid Jet’s eyes.

And Jet understands then that he and Lee are even more alike than he already knew…

Because maybe Lee has also never let himself fall in love, and maybe he is also terrified to be loved in return…
