Nursing a broken heart 3,000+ miles away from home sucks. I just wish the pain would go away because it hurts so bad that I want to go home so I can hold my cats (but I can't). My mom is sick, both with a cold and of hearing me say how sad I am. I can't talk to my friends about it because 1) it's the middle of the night and 2) I don't want to drive them away.
I truly believed he was the one. It really does hit different this time.
I'm sick to my stomach. How could the NHL know about this for SIX YEARS and allow those individuals to keep playing through that entire period of time? Although I don't know why I keep asking myself this question: B*ttman and the NHL have repeatedly shown their disdain for SA victims over the years.
I'm so proud of and thankful to you, "Jane Doe," for never giving in; based on experience, I have an idea of how much it cost you. I really hope you get the justice you deserve.

Gary Bettman, I want you to know that discussing potential expansion teams while five of your players turn themselves in for sexual assault charges is egregious. It’s not only insulting to “Jane Doe”, but to all the hockey fans that have been victims of sexual assault.
We don’t care about a potential Utah team. We care that five men, for six years, were allowed to play professional hockey after allegedly partaking in a heinous crime.
The NHL should be transparent about this situation. When a situation emerges in the league, your immediate reaction is to release a ready-made statement. These nondescript statements generate rumors and conspiracy theories - as made evident by the recent Corey Perry situation. The fans should know about this situation - not an expansion team that will just generate more money for the league.
According to RAINN, only “310 out of every 1,000 sexual assaults are reported to police. That means more than 2 out of 3 go unreported.” Additionally, it was reported by The Washington Post that “less than 1% of rapes lead to felony convictions,” but “at least 89% of victims face emotional and physical consequences.” My heart is completely with “Jane Doe,” who is immensely brave. I hope you defy the odds, I hope you get justice.
