A bittersweet Thanos and Gamora Christmas story

While cleaning out some old storage, Thanos comes across an old doll that once belonged to Gamora when she was a child.  Thanos recounts the time when he gives the doll as a present to young Gamora. Although Thanos raises Gamora as a child soldier, he allows her to have a slight bit of normal childhood by giving her presents as rewards every year. However, when little Gamora tried to ask him to take her along for an outing, Thanos turns her down because he was too busy to bring her out for vacation. That night, when an alien assassin tried to kill Thanos, little Gamora saves him from an assassination by throwing the doll at the attacker’s face. The doll got damaged in the process and he rewards her for saving his life by promising her that he would take her to the lagoon. Back to the present, Thanos finishes his story and tells his robot to dispose of the doll. Thanos has mixed feelings of anger, bitterness and sentimentality.
