Writing (Yes, I say this even though right now it is a struggle and I sort of want to tear my hair out 50 percent of the time), being creative is a great reset button for the days I don't feel great.

Spring weather. The sun is finally out when I get home from work and that's an excellent feeling.

Connected to this, the spring peeper frogs have arrived in the swamps I drive past on my way home, and I can roll down the windows and listen to them going crazy.

The library I work at picked "national parks" as their summer reading challenge theme on the exact year I am primed to go absolutely unhinged about that (long story).

Music. I love to write to a good playlist and when I find a new song I can go absolutely wild about it!

Exhibit A: looks like a literal puppy 90 percent of the time, pic above is just his default setting

Exhibit B: Got caught up in a hostage situation on his first day at work (episode 8x02)

Exhibit C: Got stung by a dangerous jellyfish and responded to this by having a coworker pour vinegar on the sting, bandaged it, and returned to work (episode 8x09)

Exhibit D: SO MUCH emotional whump. Best episodes for that are 8x14 (a case he'd worked on as a rookie on patrol gets re-examined because of a decision he was talked into by his superior while taking a witness statement) and 8x16 (a man Jesse investigated in LA and suspects of having murdered Jesse's wife after he got away with killing his own is being investigated for another murder in Miami)

Exhibit E: Wears a LOT of white shirts which is an instant siren song to my brain that they would be improved with some blood stains...
