Thing is, the auto destruct sequence was absurbly long, if she put it in place three years before and it's still going on by the time Donna and the Doctor come around. + the fact they could hear the count down going in the time they were there (a few hours) It has been a very long count down.

The Not-thing, said it themselves, they don't know slow, they don't undertand it. If the cap hadn't slowed the count down, the time it would have taken for her to get out and die would have been long enough for them to stop it. Because they supposely had copied her enough already and would know what she knew, and so would have been able to stop it. So she had to slow it down enough for them not to notice or know what it was. Dying then would ensure they wouldn't ever know.

auto destruct are never intantaneous because you need to be able to stop it, so we can suppose the normal auto destruct was just long enough for the not-thing to be able to disable it. that's why she had to slow it down and make it longer.

Guys maybe I'm just dumb but why couldn't the captain of the ship have exploded it at the second she decided to? Like why did she have to slow-time it? She would've died anyway, taking the creatures down with her. Help me understand

What I love in the context of Sanuso is for Zoro to notices them pinning for each other.

It's not difficult. And he know perfectly why they danse around each other without taking a first step toward a relationship.

Usopp may be a coward but he is also very brave when he needs to be. He's well aware of the battle he can tackle and the one he is overpowered.

With Sanji it's just that. It's not that he's not brave enough to take a first step. It's just that he knows he has no chance of success. Sanji doesn't like men and he won't risk theur friendship just to be rejected.

Except Usopp is wrong. Because clearly Sanji's not straight but he does struggle with his attraction. Which Zoro suppose is the first time he open to such attraction. Or at least allow them to reach a certain level.

But it's quite simple. Sanji really likes Usopp it's just he's too into his own head and internalized homophobia to truly recognize it or lean into it. Even if he got used to a very queer crew he's not there yet for himself. He just need to gain confidence and realize it's possible for him to be with Usopp.

So Zoro start to tease him gently. They love their little rix but they can also be more level headed and that's what Zoro do.

Making Sanji realize of his attraction for Usopp because they can all see it. Bug also showing Sanji this can be normality and should be normality.

He doesn't tease Sanji on 'oh you like a man cringe' but in 'oh you clearly like this man what are you waiting for?'

And it works slowly. It's just that Sanji and Usopp both hold inside a lot of self-doubt and depreciation and they can't wrap their head around this relationship being possible. Because clearly the other won't like them like that. Even when they are explicitly told the other like them.

It's painful to watch really.

But he continue to normalize for Sanji the fact he can he gay or bi. That he can be in a relationship with a man and that it's not shameful. Because he know if he don't. If nobody try to normalize it in Sanji eyes, he won't change and explore that part of himself.

Sanji is slow to catch the train but he does.

On the other side Nami had been pushing Usopp to open his eyes on Sanji slow coming and that truly he has his shot.

(and of course Zoro and Nami have a bet on which one will make the first move. Take the risk. Nami win of course)

You know what would be fun?

Kaya recovering, becoming a doc and she sometimes take a boat to lives her own adventure from time to time.

At some point she get to the Baratie. And gets really friendly with Zeff. Because of course her and Usopp do write to each other pretty frequently getting into details, whiles Sanji and Zeff exchange recepies from time to time but outside of that barely a message so he is very happy to have extended news from the crew and his boy that is not from the paper.

So he let her go about and of course she talk a lot about Usopp and what he likes. And the more she goes on the more he realize the recepies Sanji send him are all related to something Usopp likes.

It could be a hasard. But he feels something more is hidden behind all that.

So he decide to write Sanji and it goes basically like that :

"are you fucking the sniper? If not you should. By the way I know you're probably not aware but you need to know you're not straight. You just seemed to be always on the verge of crying the times I wanted to talk to you about it. Just so you know it's fine. Here a recepy..."

Sanji nearly have a stroke when he read that but it open a door for him to explore
