Quick PSA:

If you have a dog who chews on literally everything, keep your bathroom door closed! I caught my rescue beagle chewing on a razor. Thankfully i found all the pieces, but that couldve gone very different if i hadnt gone upstairs to get my son up from his nap. Dogs can swallow bits of the razor, including the blades, and itll go from annoying to a medical emergency.

Steps to munching on fresh pineapple:

1. Grab the base of the leaf bunch and twist. If your pineapple is ripe, itll rip off easily.

2. Cut off the top and bottom of the pineapple.

3. When peeling, whether you peel it the original way, or cut it into disks first, dont be afraid to take a bit of the flesh with the peel. You will not get all of the woody spines off otherwise. Those little brown spots leftover from improper peeling just dont taste good.

4. Core it. The core is hard to chew and not very tasty compared to the rest of the flesh.

5. Cut into chunks. This step is optional.

6. Munch away on the flesh-eating tropical fruit.

Just a reminder to people who eat meat-heavy diets:

If youre picky and dont like many vegetables, try to include organ meat. Theres alot of different ways to cook various animal organs that work for even the pickiest person, and organ meat has lots of vitamins and minerals that a more veg-heavy diet normally provides. And try to eat at least some fruits and veggies, even if its just corn, potatoes, and apples.

Does anyone have experience with social services? Namely with fighting false complaints? I feel like our case didnt have enough evidence to get past intake, but cps doesnt care about that. The more cooperative and truthful you are, the easier it is to get you to dance like a trained monkey. I just need to know what to do if i follow the case plan and they still want to push this further. Because i feel like thats what will happen based on everything so far.

I seriously need some advice, guys. Im so upset that this is happening. Heres a list of things his family has done that either shouldve been called on or has, in no particular order:

1. Not feeding the kids properly (one of his sisters)

2. Having sex in front of impressionable toddlers (different sister)

3. Sent to psychiatric holding for mental breakdown after threatening to off herself and her younger child not long after giving birth (a third sister)

4. Pretendjng their child is disabled to get government benefits (my husband's mom with him, possible munchausens by proxy case)

5. Leaving a bottle of baby aspirin in reach of a 2yo, leading to said 2yo eating all of it because it tasted like candy (husband's gma, back when she was raising her kids)

This isnt a full list, just what i can recall off-hand. What did i do wrong, that "warrants a case plan"?

1: not be the perfect housekeeper

2: use the bathroom with the door open in a one-floor apartment instead of carrying my toddler to the bathroom with me only for him to wander off anyway (i didnt keep the door shut back then because it was a one-floor apartment, so there wasnt any real risk aside from the one time recently prior to moving when my husband's gma left the bleach out without properly tightening the cap)

3: let my toddler practice self-feeding, leading to a small amount of food loss due to clumsy toddler hands dropping stuff

Cool. Nice to know im worse than someone who threatened to kill their own child, someone who actually starved their child, someone who has no sexual dignity, someone who scammed thousands from the government by overmedicating their child, AND someone who left their toddler alone long enough to eat a whole bottle of aspirin. Combined. Cool. Cps, get your act together. Before you harrass the wrong person and get sued.

Lawyers of tumblr, how do i get out of a cps case plan without actually doing anything? We are the only ones in my husband's family to make it past intake, and the others had actual evidence of neglect, so im very frustrated that theyre trying to make us do this. I wanted to just refuse to sign it, but i know how much power they have, and i dont wanna lose my son. We have proven that we arent doing anything wrong, but theyre still making us take parenting classes and making me get a mental health assessment. How do i get out of doing those things when they just refuse to believe the evidence right in their faces that we arent bad parents?

Yes, if possible, dont say a speed or ask if you were speeding. But, if you must say a speed, say the speed limit. As for the court thing, there are some cases where, even if the officer does show, you can and should try to get out of a ticket. Example being: my state is a one plate state. If i got ticketed for no front plate in a two plate state, you bet id contest it, because i cant be held to the local laws of another state, constitutionally speaking. It would be admitting to something i legally cannot have done (since i dont live there) to pay the fine. The rest of what you said is solid, though.

Driving in the united states tips:

1: If someone is tail-gating you, maintain speed. Slowing down could cause a wreck. Another thing is, if they have camera proof, they could get you for brake-checking, even if that isnt what you intended to do. Brake-checking is illegal if it can be proven because its considered reckless endangerment.

2: If someone riding with you tells you to speed up to catch a light, only do so if the distance is too short to stop AND you arent already speeding. In some cases, stopping hard is better than running the light. Luckily, my state has "if a cop didnt see it, it didnt happen" laws for red light cameras. Nevermind the potential speeding ticket.

3: If you get pulled over for speeding, dont admit to speeding. Tell them exactly the speed limit. Dont fudge it for even a few miles over. In many states, like mine, you can be ticketed for as little as 4mph over.

4: If you get fined for something in a different state that is legal in your state (such as the shade of your window tint or not having two license plates), go to court with proof of residence and proof that its legal where you live. Its more complicated than paying the fine, but do it. Paying the fine is an admission of guilt. Dont admit to a crime for something that isnt illegal where you live.

I have something to say that is kind of upsetting. But it needs to be said. The fact that it does makes me so angry and sad, too.

If you have a beef with someone you know is a parent, justified or not, please do not use children services to punish them unless you know and can prove the child is being abused or neglected. It does not matter one bit if the issue you have with them justifies revenge. Find another way to get it.

Someone in my husband's family hates me for a reason they made up in their head, and is jealous that we are better parents than them. So they keep calling to make up stuff. Our current case worker will not listen to us and has decided to transfer us to ongoing services despite no evidence of neglect. Now they want to put us on a long-term case plan for no reason. This situation has been very terrifying and heartbreaking. I love my baby and would never hurt him.

If you have no reason to make that call, even if you despise the person, don't. Especially if the reason you hate them is ridiculous or made up. You only hurt the child in question. And you ruin any credibility with the people you know.

Don't cry wolf when there is none. The people who end up getting hurt are the ones who don't deserve it.
