Hey remember what I said about making changes to the OTW and AO3 from the inside? Fuck that shit, I was completely wrong. Stop giving them money, stop wasting time voting in their rigged elections, and start giving them noisy, angry hell on every single fucking platform you can find. Especially white people.

I loathe being stuck between the rock and the hard place of AO3 being the ONLY place I get any kind of engagement on my fic, and how much I hate, in order, the organization and people who run it, their policies, their volunteers, and the people who stan for them.

The urge to take my fics down from their site and just deal with the fact I'll never have readers again gets stronger every day

Commission money has been donated! I ultimately decided to go with The Bail Project because I had wavering confidence with ActBlue (nothing solid just weird vibes), so I went with TBP. The money can be used a number of times over so I thought this would really increase the impact I’m making (and that you’ve made as well since this is commission money)

Update If Such a Thing Intrigues You

I know I haven’t put out anything on AO3 and here in a long time. I don’t like leaving people in the dust so I thought it might be appropriate for a small update. It is very likely I’m being annoying or over-estimating the need for this update. I’m sorry about that.

First, it turns out that my mental health dipping was actually depression so that sucks. It doesn’t appear to be a severe situation but my therapist seemed concerned so I eventually started antidepressants at the tail-end of November. I know I’m not an interesting individual or have much of a scope in terms of internet outreach but I do want to be open about these subjects. It might not be much but I would like to contribute, if only slightly, to de-stigmatizing this topic. 

My self-esteem is absolutely roasted. Between that and a quarter-system college workload, writing has been difficult to say the least. Even when I do find the free time to write, I am consumed by a vehement self-hatred for my writing that I can’t bring myself to do it. 

For those of you who are still waiting on the Wereduck fic, if there are any of you, I’m sorry it’s taking so long. All I’ve managed to do was beef up the outline.

Halloween Writing Update (It’s Bad Y’all)

My mental health fucking dipped like nobody’s business in a way I did not anticipate. Because of this, I’m canceling the Monster writing thing I was attempting to do. I was really excited about it but with everything in mind I can’t promise it how I presented it. I might be able to finish the few fics I started but I can’t promise anything else. I’m so so sorry about this and I hope you are all doing well and are staying healthy.

Since we’re all trapped inside, I want to bring a little Hallow’s Eve festivity with some monster smooching (although they don’t have to kiss--love has many forms). I do have to get them done before I have school in October, so the deadline is set.

i know there’s a lot going on but ICE are now one step closer to literally creating gas chambers. they are spraying a chemical called HDQ neutral roughly 100 times a day, every 15 minutes at the adelanto detention center (one of the biggest in the country). people are getting rashes, headaches, their insides are bleeding, etc. the guards are wearing gloves and masks but the detainees have NOTHING. and here’s a quick reminder - america inspired the nazis to create gas chambers when they gassed latino people during the 1917 bath riots.

Updates on Writing/Personal Updates

Unfortunately, I haven’t been too active in my writing-nothing new has appeared on AO3 in a while. School had taken up a lot of my time and when the school closed, there was the added stress of homework without the stimulation and joy received from human interaction. My mental health further declined as time went on and it got to the point where my body had a physical reaction to it and I was sick for nearly an entire week with muscle aches, drowsiness, and stomach unease.  My goal for the month of May had been to release a chapter or two of “An American Wereduck in Love”, another un-related fic, and do a soft run of writing commissions (was especially anxious about this one). With the aforementioned circumstances, none of that got done (although I did make a nice sized dent in the next chapter(s) of the wereduck fic).

Taking into consideration my mental health and current circumstances, I still plan on getting out new chapters of the wereduck fic out in June, but have entered into an internal debate concerning commissions. If I am able to balance my mental health and writing my fics with commissions, then I will do them in June. If not then, I’ve given myself permission to not see that as a failure on my end. 

If commissions do happen in June, I will NOT be receiving the payments for them. I have firmly decided that IF they are to happen, all money I receive from the writing commissions will go to organizations serving and protecting protesters. While I had no plans to spend the money superfluously anyways, I would not have deeply been in-need of the funds. At this moment of time, the protesters need it more than I do.  I will also take this time to say I am in FULL SUPPORT OF THE PROTESTERS. Not only do I firmly believe that Black Lives Matter but also it would be antithetical to my LGBT+ identity and personal beliefs, to not support the protesters. Stonewall was a RIOT, and riots are the language of the unheard. Everything I have written revolves around characters, especially those belonging to marginalized groups, being able to create joy and their own personal path in life from hardships internally and externally. My writing and my beliefs would mean nothing if I did not support these protesters across the nation as they fight for a world in which we can all pursue happiness. I do intend to donate to appropriate causes (I think I found one which splits your donation where needed-checking for legitimacy-I will post the link once I know), regardless of whether or not I open up donation commissions.  Thank you for your patience with my writing and I hope you are all staying safe, healthy, and in-balance of moderating your mental health with your justified anger over this breach in democracy.
