I hate being on social media because there's really dumb people that are allowed to post whatever, and if you try to correct them, educate them, or try to get them to see another perspective, they take it as if you're calling them dumb or trying to censor them.

Whole time, you are calling them dumb, but You're trying to say it nicely. But if they just gonna take it there, anyways 🤷🏿‍♂️

Back when I was younger, when we didn't have wide-spread access to the Internet (when making a phone can killed the Internet connection), I used to love reading. Reading was my first love, for real. I remember I used to read this children's bible my parents had, pictures and stories. I was so obsessed, I used to read everything. Game manuals, the decorations on cereal boxes, the ingredients list when I got bored. We didn't have many books that weren't Bibles in the house. And then I found out about libraries.

I don't know if that's a thing anymore, the absolute JOY of a reader finding out about libraries, but let me tell you, it was like a movie buff finding out about Netflix. Or a foodie learning about buffets.

But I remember going by here ALL the time at school. Staying up late reading one, so I could turn it back in the next day and pick out another. My family just looking at me all types of way, because apparently reading was an acquired taste, even then, and I guess someone who took naturally to it was... Rare? Idk. I didn't care. I just wanted books.

And I think that's really how I ended up going from writing poetry to wanting to be an author. I sucked at poetry. A lot of what I wrote was forced, at Best, mostly lies of feelings I've never known, but only imagined how they would feel.

And it hit me one day... Making up shit. Isn't that just... being an author? Maybe I was better suited to that.

When I first started writing, it wasn't so much a choice, as it was a whim. I don't really remember exactly "when", but if I had to guess, it was this old website named boardofwisdom

They used to post quotes and poetry on there, a few jokes, and I'd spend days just reading through everything. And at some point, I decided I'd post some things. Some jokes I found in a joke book I used to have, at first.

There was a small community of people where you could talk with others, and I met some people there. A few of them were poetry writers, and at some point, I think I was like "hey, I'd like to try that". And so I started just... writing shit. I don't think the website exists anymore, thankfully, because I was a HORRIBLE writer. But I think writing is something you can always improve on. And those were my humble beginnings.

I've been procrastinating on writing my book for a long time now, and I really want to finish it. I've only got 35 pages, so I need to finish because I have people wanting to read it right now.

10 notes and I'll finish Chapter 5

20 notes and I'll write Chapter 6

30 notes and I'll finish my previously mentioned character profiles. All of them.

40 notes and I'll write Chapters 7-10

50 notes and I'll finish the book.
