Engine Update! A quick visit to Vans Speed Shop last night, showed the engine is so close to being finished. Turns out the dual carbs wont fit with the original VW engine tin, so we have new tin on order. Vans is also installing an oil filter set up and an O2 sensor.

Body work update! The front end is starting to look a little cleaner. New metal has been put on the lower portion of the front end, basically the headlights down. Dents and rust have been removed from both of the front doors. The passenger door required a little more work, they had to cut out a few rust holes and put some new metal in there as well. Next up is sourcing new metal for the bottom of the windshield.

Kustom Auto Body called me in just before Christmas to go over the plan of attack on our bus. I brought in some new metal for behind the front bumper, where the rusted out areas will be cut out and replaced. They've already sanded down the two front doors, and popped out two decent sized dents in the nose and passenger door! For now the plan is just to work on completing the front face with new metal, windshield and glass. That will probably blow our budget for 2014!

Bought old rims, had them blasted and powder coated. Bought new tires, mounted and installed them the other night! Now she’s good to roll onto a trailer.

Sabrina and I spent some time yesterday cleaning up the dashboard. The glass in the gauges is slipping, and the two vents have deteriorated. We're looking at ordering replacement vents, glove box, and repairing the gauges.

So we found out the stock engine had too much wear on it to be machined and rebuilt... So we're on the hunt for a new engine case.
