Happy Walls Dayyy!!!!!! Today was the first anniversary of our #1 fave debut album of 2020, and we all celebrated, Louis included! Last but best thing first: WE GOT A DEMO!! Louis ended the day by publishing a dreamy clip of a demo of the title song ‘Walls’. His clear voice croons over beautiful sliding electric guitars and background reverberance- if that’s his FIRST draft then he is, as we knew, a GENIUS! AND, the King Himself came on twitter to interact with his “loyal” (his words) subjects (that’s us!). He popped up at first to say that his tour, when it comes around, will be “fucking unbelievable…this is our day!”, and talked about his favorite part of the last year (“the two shows I played”), what he noticed most when performing solo the first times (“the space on stage” ughhhh all the tears), what he was looking forward to after COVID (“everything”) and getting through these times- “remember that everything is going to be better when normality sets back in.” He also explained that while he was gonna put out merch today, he “didn’t want to market the day”, but rather make it “a celebration just for us”. But, uh, the merch will be coming eventually! He then replied that there were “too many greedy fuckers out there” who try turn celebratory events into a “cash grab” (to quote the fan), and harries then got mad at that because THEY were like this must be about Harry (lol uhhhh) and assumed he was shading him and Jeff rather than, I don’t know, his OWN FORMER LABEL?? Cool cool cool, but it’s still Harry’s moth on Spotify, so cope. He told us that his proudest moment on the album was recording the strings for the Walls the Single, that he wouldn’t have approached the process differently because he’s still really proud of the album, that he was most looking forward to us hearing KMM or Walls, that Doncaster is his fav place (to no one’s surprise lmao), and, asked what song he likes to rock out to off HIS ALBUM was like oh hey have I got a rec for you: “Maybe Tomorrow” by the Stereophonics. It goes, “think I’ll walk me outside and buy a rainbow smile, but be free” and “maybe tomorrow I’ll find my way home” (huh is there something happening tomorrow that could be linked to… OH. Right. Huh. Well all that is just a coincidence I’m sure, it’s not like Louis ever said he likes to rec songs because he wants us to read into the lyrics or anything… oh wait.)    

LTHQ did a insta quiz over on their stories (I only got two questions wrong!) and they did the promised virtual listening party and tweeted along to each song and retweeted fans’ reactions (and all the usernames, larries everywhere, we SEE YOU). Friends of Louis joined in the celebration- Only The Poets, Ashton Irwin of 5SoS fame, Helene Hornyck (“all the love,” she said!), Isaac Anderson and more, and All On The Board made one of their lovely Frankenstein poems which mashing up a bunch of LT1 songs, but in keeping with the theme of the day (and COVID I GUESS) did it as fanart rather than the usual in person board. And all of that was the BORING part of the day, can you BELIEVE?? The FUN part was the Walls Fanart that was chosen to be the new Spotify cards on the official Walls album. As in, they are up right now if you want to go check them out, but I’m gonna tell you straight up: they’re half Harry tats! The Defenseless card, especially, as it is just straight up fanart of Harry’s moth tattoo, especially fun when he had JUST got us talking about its Papillion origin with his finsta! The artist had been worried that Louis would be mad at them for submitting ‘Larry art’, and was overjoyed to learn that, uh… apparently, he was NOT. That was not all! The ‘Too Young’ art card is H’s rose tattoo, ‘Habit’ and ‘Fearless’ were both different variations of H’s anatomical heart tat (the ‘Habit’ one even included the word kind :{) ), and the We Made It rainbow wheel did, in fact, make it to Spotify, just like we thought! “Perfect Now” was Louis standing under a rainbow spotlight—they made that one black and white for spotify but the artist shared the original version. Harries were beside themselves, and tagged Jeff (Azoff), Ben Winston, and Gemma Styles (what?), demanding that they make Louis take the art down because it was clearly Harry art, which 1.) how much more blatant can you be if even ANTIS are noticing and 2.) what sort of control do they think Jeff, Ben, and Gemma have over Louis seeing as, uh, none of them currently work for him??? Weird, are they thinking there might be some kind of link… between Harry and his team and Louis… tell me more antis, truly, I’m fascinated!

One would think that’s more than enough for one day but WAIT THERE’S MORE Zayn is in EXCELLENT quirky Zayn form having fun with his own merch—he posted a gremlin (from the old RL Stine movie ‘Gremlins’) in a NIL beanie captioned “one size fits all humanoid shaped heads” late last night, haaaaa. Yes, I agree! The red stitching really makes the gremlin’s red eyes pop, and his fangs have never looked this good! And the question arose, is Harry’s finsta actually just his side account for following nothing but gay meme accounts? Evidence—the discovery of a second follow, of the openlygayanimals account– would suggest yes! Well that’s valid, imagine having to not only navigate the internet AS HARRY but also without funny memes of your choice, that’s no life to lead. And Niall complained on twitter that people didn’t understand his sense of humor because SARCASM! He also tweeted about golf, which I’m sure was cool for people who understand it.

#I see people being like merch now or later what’s the difference is he greedy then for doing merch at all #theory? I think the reason we got those merch drops (a few in a short period) was to raise capital that was used to fund #one particular project (the livestream) and what he means is since he doesn’t have anything like that on the go right now #if he released merch it would just be money in his pocket for no real reason #if I’m right IDK when we’ll see that WMI merch D’: hey Louis you could just do some REALLY CHEAP MERCH instead just for fun!! #but I don’t suppose the distributers etc would much care for that #I know we’re already transitioning into birthday Harry content but may I just say the Walls edits and art have been incredible

Welllllll I had a whole lead about Walls being built and coming down and then H had to go be gay on main and that just has to come first! It was discovered today that the scottysakamoto instagram account (Harry’s finsta which recently made headlines for being a dark larrie with his Papillion references) follows an account named @/best_of_grindr, which is exactly what is says on the tin lmao. This shouldn’t come as a real shock to anyone, but it is notable that he began to follow a grindr account from the instagram account that was meant to prove that he was ~totally straight~ and ~with his girlfriend~. Although, she did unfollow him, soooooo…..Anyways! He’s gay, Petra! 

And here’s the awesome Walls newsssss: LTHQ announced a listening party for the one year anniversary of Walls, but it’s unclear whether the King himself will be joining. I’m sure they’re gonna string that reveal out until the last possible moment. Louis himself has not said anything but maybe he’ll pop up tomorrow to celebrate with us, if only with a tweet! Niall is doing some taunting and teasing of his own on twitter, promising his fans that if they get him to the 40th artist worldwide on spotify he’ll do a dance half naked on tik tok (which half, fans wondered, and would it be any different than his instagram lives?). “NIALL DON’T UNDERESTIMATE US”, one fan assured him, and he replied with a cheeky “go on then”. Uhhh….time to trend #DONTstripthatdownNiall again! Niall also sat down with Sky Golf to talk more about his youth golf program, and I *am* honestly curious - as he talks about accessibility - about how he expects the demographic breakdown of this program to look like, and what it’ll end up being. Guess we’ll see eventually. 

Ziam were on and around instagram today, Zayn with a PHENOMENAL selfie in his Louis Blue hair and dark root showing off his “cheeky” NIL hoodie (ugh he’s so gorgeous) and then put out a pre recorded spon for the Harry Potter candy crush game that he’s been sponning for months now. JKR is a TERF, Z, sorry but even your lovely eyes won’t take that away! And Liam joined Andy Samuels (old hometown friend from before 1D!) for a Birthday Trivia Quiz, which has confused me to no end. Is this…a quiz where the trivia is about yourself?? Do you?? Make up really obscure questions about your life and hope your friends can guess? And IF SO: what knee do I have a long time scar on and how did I get it? The prize is a cupcake of your favorite flavor that you have to go buy yourself…I know, I’m AMAZING!

Liam is doing Hugo promo on his insta, looking terrific in navy blue and saying, “if you want to know more, please go follow Hugo_Official”, Niall’s friend tagged him in a candle promo (*sings* he didn’t start the fireeee), OK! Magazine wrote (and mayhaps pulled?) an article about Jason Sdsksks being in “a world of pain” because H is bonding with his kids and seducing Jason’s family with his curls (not his words but dontcha WISH), and everyone else went home and took the day off they said SORRY WE’RE TOO BUSY DESIGNING H’S DRESS TO MAKE ~DISCOURSE~ and we said okay :{( see you tomorrow.

Zayn is doing a Zach Sang interview!! A whole long talk with someone we can trust to ask him good questions and be respectful and be funny, um YES THANK YOU?! What a good choice for such a rare interview, I love that. We don't know when, but Zach is asking for questions now. And parts 3 and 4 of the NIL comic are up, set to songs 3 and 4 off the album. Who is chasing our protagonist and why? Stay tuned for weekly updates! Meanwhile back in Bradford, Zayn's sisters Doniya and Safaa show off the mini Aristocats themed princess paradise they've created for baby Khai and Zayn's niece Zaniyah to share, complete with mini pink poofy furniture and their names painted on the walls with pink sparkles and pictures of Aristocat Marie. If that doesn't make little Khai feel wanted and welcomed for visits IDK what could!

Another set of pap pics of shirtless Niall working out in his garage in LA yesterday; he's tummy out, waving a laptop overhead while juggling a can of water and a phone and a towel and looking like a raccoon caught in the trash in most of them, just being a living meme. They (Niall) say you only get papped by choice and this is no exception- observe how he chooses to just stay right there in view staring the pap down while they snap him, doors still open (and is right on top of any opportunity to remind us about the wonders of canned water besides)- but that doesn't mean he's gonna look happy about it by god! The one of him craning his neck to look at the camera over his own crotch while weight lifting in particular was uh a choice and a half of a pose to drop into when you know there are paps shooting. He also won Irish Song of the Year in the RTE’s voted awards (of course he did!) for No Judgement.    

LTHQ posted the first of probably many things about the upcoming one year anniversary of the Walls release: a fanart contest, with chosen pieces for each song to be posted to spotify on Sunday, the anniversary. I look forward to the 'find the larry art they accidentally let slip in' treasure hunt! Fans hoped in vain that the 28th would bring a special anniversary merch drop (or We Made It merch, is it EVER coming??), but alas; no merch drop today. Louis just liked a post from footballer Steven Gerrard about a 40+ artist (including Liam Gallagher) livestream to benefit stagehand and food security charities (because ofc he did it’s like that post was crafted just for him) and another friend of his (Donny boy boxer Dave Allen) said they "just talked to him earlier", he's just on the phone all the time huh? Lockdown mood tbh, I get it.

And in today's Holivia watch? A NEW HIGH LOW... the tabloids are out to prove they've utterly lost the plot and will just write LITERALLY ANYTHING including just wholly making up the story of H and O's ENGAGEMENT!! I feel sorry for the fans who are dutifully trying to swallow everything they're being fed, the whiplash from last week's "Harry doesn't like marriage" stories must be painful! APPARENTLY Harry "dropped to one knee" (but was it the si knee or the no knee? Inquiring minds want to know!) outside "his LA house" (hmm) and brought Olivia to tears (of laughter I'm guessing) by quoting Shakespeare (“Love me!... Why?��� perhaps, or “et tu brute?”...?) In case this wasn't Wattpad Imagine enough for you, they also tell us that Olivia "has always been a fan" like... ew? Also, since when? But that's not all! They've already had time to PLAN it all out-- for example, Harry is "designing the dress" aww- that's almost enough to make you wish it was true, I bet he'd look really pretty in something he designed himself! Anywaaaaay, if they're concerned about people not buying what they're selling this is uh, NOT the right approach to combat that lol, Jeff you might wanna have words with these people! If they're trying to make me laugh however, KUDOS it is going REALLY WELL. Also! Harry's "secret" finsta (hahhahaha we're beyond that surely, can we all agree that the things we're seeing with this account are very much for us to see at this point?) unfollowed someone, Harry recorded a message sending congratulations for his new music to 14 year old singer Jackson Dollinger, and another Harry from another band (Judd, McFly) shared a terrifying memory of being driven around LA by a gleeful Harry (Styes, 1D)  in a Ferrari and the realization that if they'd d*** he'd be relegated to a footnote.

Lets start with the twitter/insta/finsta/FUNNY part of today: Olivia unfollowed Harry’s old finsta (was: colazione8), which also changed both its profile picture (was: a kitten, is now: Steve McQueen) and its insta username (is now: scottysakamoto), which set the fandom off in a flurry of speculation over what it MEANS and what could be COMING NEXT? Fans quickly began to do research on what it all means. ‘Sakamoto’ is an old Japanese name tied to nobility, which means “one who lives at the bottom of the slope”, and Steve McQueen is the actor who played Henri in the 1973 film, Papillion, from which Harry and Louis have copied many of their tattoos (as we know not just from, you know, looking at them, but also because the artist that did one of them said so), specifically from Steve McQueen’s character. Papillion is about two ‘friends’ named- wait for it - Henri and Louis and their struggle for freedom, and ends in an epic jump from a cliff reminiscent of the one in the end of the WMI trilogy! To add a bit of tongue and cheek to the already hilarious wink - and - nod, the picture is one of Steve McQueen undressing (read: taking his underpants off) by next to a sign that says “Anyone Caught In Here Better Have A Damned Good Reason”, so how’s THAT for subtlety. The bio, which used to read “breakfast, lunch, dinner” in Italian, now reads “SS” (as in…a ship??). Why did Olivia unfollow her gay boyfriend’s finsta? Don’t know, couldn’t tell ya! But I’ll say this: if there was any pretense that she wanted to, uh, see the content of the instagram, that’s as long gone as Henri is from that cliff. That is, at the bottom of the ocean. ANYWAYS, welcome back, RBB, always a pleasure, can’t wait to look back years from now and be like AH SO THATS WHAT THIS MEANT! And, to round out the wonderful insta shenanigans, Louis popped on while H was making profile changes to like Helene Horycke’s new book announcement (Just Sing!). Well, hello to you, too, SBB! 

Liam’s third of eight FIFA podcasts dropped yesterday, featuring two Nigerian celebrities, Asisat Oshoala (a player on the Nigerian national team) and Tiwa Amadi (aka Tiwa Savage, a singer with UMG), who were talking about changing their respective scenes in Nigeria. Liam talks about the responsibility he feels as an artist, particularly because his fanbase is made up of “young females”, to “give them a chance to make it in the industry and to play with these people”. His own start was with a very supportive (read: pushy) family, and a father who knew (read: insisted) that he would one day be put in from of Simon Cowell “and see what he thinks of your voice”. Warning: results may Vary! These days, though, Liam treats studio sessions like “a therapy session, in a way…We’re making songs for your moments, and that’s what those songs will remind you of: that person, that time”. Yeah, it’s all these little things that add up to you, Liam! 

Niall ALSO had a sports thing drop today along with many golf posts as he shifts into full on sports manager!Niall mode for a minute. Niall/ Modest!Golf have partnered with the R&A (the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of Saint Andrews. Yes. That’s the real name. I promise) to create “a series of future grassroots programmes aimed at inspiring more young people into golf.” You go, Niall! Good luck with that! I’m…gonna sit this one out, but YES Niall LIVE YOUR DREAM! He sat down to chat with amateur golfer Mia Baker about this program, saying he really wants to make the game “more inclusive and accessible”. Well, good luck!

And, in a Very Special Intern’s Lightning Round: harries on twitter pretended to be “industry insiders” only to reveal that, nope, they’re uni students with no connections, Louis replied to Bonehead from Oasis about Dig! (a documentary on two bands’ very different paths to fame), Niall liked Halsey’s Pregnancy announcement (surprise! The old teahouse will have a *real* baby! Also. she’s VERY pregnant!), and Roman Kemp and the Capital One Crew decided that One Direction was better than another boyband bc “larry” (Roman, seeing the oncoming train wreck: “no, don’t say that”), a Harry Styles themed BAR called fine line opened in Argentina (NO ONE does it like LATAM fans!), and various Walls-related memes and tags flooded twitter today after the album surpassed 350 million streams, including, by the way, one of Bernie and his cute little mittens on the cover instead of Louis’ power stance.

Louis tweeted “How's everyone doing?” No Louis, HOW ARE YOU DOING?? “Alright thanks!” he says. It's the third time this month he's checked on us but does that Mean anything? Says SBB himself, “You lot read into things too much” HAHAHAHHAAAA SKSKKDJ WE LEARNED IT FROM YOU MOM!!  Well WHY is MTV posting about Copy then?? asked a fan in a very GOTCHA tone but Louis has an unarguable answer: “because it's a banger.” Well alright alright you got us there, that's very true. He says many other little things too including Strong Opinions about breakfast food (“pancakes obviously” ...was that in fact ...obvious??) and talking about a sports related series he's watching-- it really is about basketball this time unlike UFC! He also tells us that he tried to talk to Liam “earlier” “but he was in Tesco”. A fan posted that he replied to a their DM- a picture of their cat pawing adoringly at a pic of Louis- and said “this put me in such a good mood haha! Love the little lad. Bless him x”, but then later they said they it was fake, sorry. A convincing Louis imitation, but more to the point a very convincing screen record video showing the exchange: please remember this next time such a video is offered as proof for something.

Niall is in the studio with his favorite collaborators, Eskeerdo and John Ryan! The man does value consistency in all things, no question, but you know what they say- if it ain't broke, don't fix it! Despite a Morning Mashup snippet from yesterday where he agreed with the host that maybe their little kid shouldn't be exposed to Small Talk, we know he is happy with the Heartbreak Weather sound, so why not more of the same? The only question I have is: when?

Zayn's sponsorship deals continue to be increasingly wacky; today it's a coloring app! The Nobody Is Listening coloring book is now available; as usual, things I really could NOT have predicted happening every single day around here. Liam's sponsorship is less wacky today: a new Hugo pic posted.

And the greatest showmance of our generation continues to amaze, astound, and crack me the F up-- first up, in hands down the funniest thing to happen all week, Harper’s Bazaar retitled a Holivia timeline article with the headline “Sorry everyone, Olivia Wilde and Harry Styles' romance isn't a PR stunt” (and added a little blurb at the end of 'a source' saying so) which is hilarious enough on its own, the DEFENSIVENESS, but THAT'S NOT ALL! The author of the article, seeing it, tweeted “I didn't even write this! It's an old article that's been updated. I DEFINITELY think it's PR...” HAHAHAHA WHAT AN ICON. She didn't lay out that whole embarrassing timeline in print to be disrespected like this, Harper’s Bazaar! But less funny, she was disrespected by more than just the magazine-- she deleted her account due to harassment after the tweet. Sighhh. Those harries sure do love to TPWK (threat). PR for this shitshow is taking a turn for the defensive all over this week, as we saw with yesterday's Vogue article; that piece seems to have been the leading edge of an iceberg that is the new angle- 'Olivia Isn't The Bad Guy Here'. Fine, yes, no one is because this ISN'T REAL so truly whatever yall, but the really hysterical thing about the Vogue piece apparently being more or less HQ dictated is that at least like half of it is just “terrible things people are saying on twitter” and “here's why twitter is annoying” and I'm ROLLING at them sinking to this level, like when you are at the point of trying to take down twitter arguments one by one you have officially LOST CONTROL OF THE CONVERSATION lmao and lbr-- they have. People simply do not think this is real and it is funnnnny. AND SPEAKING of sinking to a level and then just keeping going right down to the molten core of the earth, can I just mention that Michael Strauss, aka the guy who is suing Briana for her boobs (case was postponed; has not yet been heard), has not only been arguing in the comments over at CelebTM that NO, REALLY it's NOT WEIRD that the sonogram pic posted was clearly not Briana's and is making up stories trying to explain it, he's now doing so from his dog's account. Will his dog also be heading over to TMZ, who tweeted the article today, to argue with people one by one in those comments? We've seen a lot of dogs used for stunt purposes, but at least they never put the words in Max or Clifford's actual mouths!

A slow Monday but that's all right, we can just watch the Vibez behind the scenes video over and over! We finally get to see more of that pretty theater they filmed in, and they don't scrimp on the shots of the sponsored watch either, but what's important here is all that footage of Zayn being exceptionally pretty even for HIM which is SAYING SOMETHING, and of the mechanics of the cool stage set stuff, including Z walking on a treadmill that’s on a moving sidewalk which I enjoyed. Meanwhile Vogue published a piece saying that “depicting Wilde and Styles as having some kind of torrid affair is a subtle—or not so subtle—form of shaming”  that kind of makes some decent points if you believe that they are dating, are serious about each other, AND that the love triangle/ potential cheating story was just tabloids coming up with things on their own rather than being fed talking points by PR people for all parties involved, but if one is actually seeing what's going down it reads like nonsensical word salad so let's simply enjoy the part where the author gets mad at twitter for “likening Styles to a babysitter, not a boyfriend.”

Today, even more obviously than usual, literally everything is fake-- except Cliff's birthday which I have no reason to disbelieve! Happy 5th birthday to the good boyo Cliffy the dog!! Now onwards to the guys, who are very much working this weekend, even if that work is to pretend they Being Very Chill and Doing Chill Stuff.

A fan receipt placed Harry at Azoff owned LA restaurant the Apple Pan last night; there would be nothing at all odd about Harry eating food at a restaurant in the city where he currently is, or even choosing to go to one owned by his friends, but it's difficult not to side eye the location when the Azoff name is invoked, and sure enough! By morning rumors of him having been there with Olivia were circulating, along with a picture so blurry it could have been anyone, but sure- it would make sense if it was them. We all said the ridiculous insta follow would be followed by some more Very Casual and Private Holivia content we just Happen to see, and yep- it seems we're now firmly in (extremely ham-fisted) “make it look organic” territory, although if they think having an actual news outlet saying “it's DEFINITELY not promotional, just like if anyone was wondering if it's promo one thing it definitely is NOT is promo”, using a public blog to draw attention to a 'private' instagram account that has been known and publicly said to be Harry's for a year, or having the pair go for an outing to a restaurant OWNED BY THE AZOFFS are going to sway people from thinking this is laughably fake, WELL. Just call ME a news outlet cause I have a breaking story for them about how likely that is...

Zayn, who has been tweeting about UFC (and ONLY UFC) all this last year, has moved into doing more official spon-con for them, which I guess retroactively explains why he was publicly tweeting about just this one single thing. Anyway, he posted a blurry pic of swag they sent him, including a big ass prize belt (“the belt is a naughty little touch” uhh okay calm down) and later he tweeted about a fight. Niall also tweeted about the same fight (along with many golf related posts) and I never thought I'd think Niall tweeting about sports was anything other than from the heart but damn! Now I gotta ask, is he getting paid too? Meanwhile stans- “so is UFC football?” “no I think it's basketball...?” TBH not sure we're the ideal audience for this ad content lol, but get that coin boys! (I'm gonna be real with you guys, I thought it was boxing this whole time AND not a single one of you corrected me so we are no better over here: it turns out it's Mixed Martial Arts fighting!) Niall also posted a bunch of golf related things which I would never question his passion for but even so, that is promo too, for his golf management company. So a business day all around.

Zayn and Niall also let us know that we could look forward to, respectively, a Vibez music video behind the scenes which sounds really cool and I'm excited for, and a golf chat interview which, well as established I might not be the target audience for but I'm sure that will be... very cool... also?

Liam posted a very cool black and white studio shot of him singing into a mic from a couch with guitars piled everywhere captioned “naming songs is the hardest part, any suggestions?” LP2 is coming trended on twitter for hours, but idk if there were any good song title suggestions in there. Zayn posted a pic, with of course a swipe up to his website, which has a cool new layout and now says to check back weekly for new pages of the NIL inspired comic book.

Everyone is posting memes of Bernie with Harry like they don't even care about poor Barack's feelings! First the Forum added Bernie to the picture of Harry watching the teardown of the last night of HSLOT, Beauty Papers has Bernie hanging out with Harry in fishnets (er, Harry in fishnets: not Bernie), and Jeff posted Fine Line ft Bernie-- it's really the mitten in place of the black glove that makes it!

A barrage of anons hand wringing about instagram follows and likes were sent out to larrie blogs and universally blown off by everyone saying that nothing we were seeing was particularly suggestive of anything at all. Like clockwork, 24 hours later Olivia publicly followed Harry's supposed private account (like is it his account, sure, seems like it, is it his actual secret private life not for us to know about account, well clearly not entirely ya know?). Okaaaay? I mean gold star I can see you're really trying to incorporate feedback or whatever ('please believe me don't you see' indeed!) but uh, they're still not dating? Anyway in case fans weren't paying close enough attention, someone made very sure people would know about it by submitting to gossip page DeuxMoi. Well big deal, ofc they did, except DM increasingly appear to be entangled with the back end of this whole thing-- they have been posting a barrage of Holivia content from day one much of which seemed like it was coming from the PR desk rather than organic submissions, and equally significantly, NOT posting submissions contradicting the Holiva party line, and have become such a mouthpiece for the whole business that the tabs now seem to be using them as a source for Holivia reporting. Oh yes, all very organic indeed! Meanwhile those tabloids report that Harry and Olivia are ramping things up, that they are taking things slow, that they want to have children, that they are very professional on set, that “everyone knew” on set, that they chose to take things public, that they didn't know the paps were there, and, perhaps most peculiar of all, that Harry isn't a fan of marriage! Maybe they should get a better source...

But that isn't our only Olivia news today! Olivia Rodrigo tells Vogue that Niall saw her previous comments about how she used to write 1D fic and texted to ask for details because HAHA OFC HE DID. He must have been so excited to embarrass her about it! “It was me in fifth grade being like, I want to be best friends with these guys and then they’re going to propose to me,” she says, and as we know from before that by 'they' she means HARRY; well she's working on the BFFs with Niall thing, she's on track, but I wouldn't get my hopes up for that proposal (and not cause he “isn't a fan of marriage” lol.) Anyway uh how about a tiny grain of actual music news at the very end here: the Anne Marie and Niall collab is coming! Hits Radio said it so it must be true, oh wait... no. But Niall commented yeah so... yeah!

 The BIG news is that the Zaby has a NAME: Baby Khai! We found out late last night because Gigi changed her insta bio to “Khai’s mom”, and thoroughly shocked us all by doing so! Turns out, “Khai” means “royalty”, which she basically *is*, isn’t she - even if “Malik” DIDN’T mean king! Zayn tattooed baby Khai’s name to his wrist, and Zstans on twitter are SWOONING, but all of that swoon quickly switched focus when Zayn showed up on instagram to take over for Billboard. Honestly, it’s very cute! There are a BUNCH of videos of him in his electric blue hair, unpacking cardboard cutouts of the NIL art, riding a four wheeler outside (at the farm?), and telling fans to stream NIL over various tracks. He also rocked and awesome NIL beanie (swipe up for merch!) and a multi-colored “Z Vision’’ Snapchat filter that looks a lot like infrared vision, and then he ended the social media heavy day with an instagram post of him in a UFC hat, saying “who’s as excited as me @UFC?” Honestly? Liam, probably. Or Harry and Louis, if they like WATCHING boxing as much as they like practicing the sport!  

We got to hear more about Niall’s history with JC Stewart: “We were both working with the same producer at the time and it just happened…by the end of the song I’m like ‘did we just write a song together?’’. JC Stewart goes on to say that while this song was written over email (from different rooms!) rather than in person, they’ve “hung out loads” because JC used to live with one of Niall’s best friends and sometimes Niall would just be chillin’ in the kitchen of their “grotty apartment” eating their beans. “I’m like, ‘surely you have nicer places to be?”, JC jokes. Ah, but could he be shirtless in those nice places? Likely so but STILL! Meanwhile on twitter, Niall said that most of his songs are first written as a piano ballad and then changed to fit the tempo, he confirmed he would be going to the Masters (a golf tournament) if they let him in (is…anyone surprised by this?), and he said “Yeahhhhhhhhhh” about ANNEMARIE DISHING ON THEIR COLLAB! “I love him, and I love the songs we did,” she told Hits Radio today. Uh, surely she can’t just leave it at that!! Tell us MORE please!! 

And speaking about DISHING on the guys, a former SNL crew member talked about the boys’ requests when they visited the show (as a band, though I’m pretty sure fans who were asking about Harry wanted to know about his solo show lmao). He said that the guys were - surprise, surprise - OBSESSED with KFC, and that once, they ordered FIFTY buckets of chicken (“I get it, they’re growing boys, but who could finish that much??”), and then they, uh, didn’t finish it, so they asked the crew to give it to the fans waiting in line for the show: “those fans got One Direction leftovers!”. He also says he vividly remembers Harry’s golden Saint Lauren boots and that H can “rock a pair of skinny jeans” (and what he means by that is that every jaw drops!). He also mentioned that the guys got a haircut IN the dressing room and the hairstylist did not clean it up: “Be honest, how much would you pay for a lock of Harry Styles’ hair?” Uh, honestly? You couldn’t pay me to keep it! 

Elsewhere, Walls became the #1 Pop Best Seller on both CDs and Vinyl Amazon after a UA tweeted that it was back in stock (KING SHIT!), Isaac Anderson (Louis’ guitarist!) reminisces on a concert with Louis from a year ago, ET insists that the Holiva pap pictures from Jeff’s wedding were “absolutely not leaked or staged for some sort of promotional reason”, but were instead spontaneous happenstance so keep that in mind next time you think about considering them a reliable source, we got a massive amount of previous unseen videos released by Dunkirk’s stunt director (like..he directs physical stunts, not…oh, you know what I mean!) of H goofing off with the Dunkirk cast and crew including leggings clad workout shots, boxing, bundled up for the cold babie Harry and one where he’s feeding a crew member a massive slice of…tomato? I think there’s a fruit joke somewhere in there, but I leave it to you to make it!

Welp. Today was a busy week, huh? 

Let’s start with Zayn’s INZAYNLY AWESOME idea of writing a comic book based on his own album - take THAT reviews that said he had no concept behind it! The first panel of the story is a man in a white car speeding away from a man with purple eyes and white pupils (REALLY creepy btw), and it reads, “A madman has been chasing me for the past hour. When I go faster, he comes closer”. I am intrigued! I hope that this is some sort of enemies to lovers type thing, but knowing these guys, its strictly horror/suspense. This is being presented in video form, so the panels are moving figures and they are scored with songs from the album, which I assume is how the rest of the panels will also be presented. You can watch these two panels with the songs “Calamity” and “Better” over on YouTube for the full effect! Also, Zayn’s last listening party was today and he was the DJ! “DJ Malik”, he said in a sentimental throwback to his boyband days. He and his team had a great time throwing airhorns into the the listening party and then they did a “from Dusk Til Dawn “ encore, which I’m sure means Zayn wants us to be streaming NIL from Dusk Til Dawn! 

To keep the party going, Paul Roberts, TPWK and longtime 1D choreographer, had a chat with the BBC about working with Harry and Phoebe (WB) on the music video. He knew right away, he said, that everyone from 1D could be a great dancer if they really wanted to be, and, ten years later, he finally got the chance to test the theory! Spoiler alert: he was RIGHT! Harry had seen Phoebe in Fleabag on the West End and got on with her from the word go, and so the idea came about. “It was about three weeks before the world started to burn”, he says about the filming of the video,“We didn’t know how lucky we were”. 

Finally, let’s CHAT: it’s stunt timeeeeee!! Today is, of course, Freddie’s birthday, which meant the usual round of pictures stolen from social media from the Tomlinson sisters, silence from Louis, and birthday pics from the Clarks. Including a picture of a sonogram posted by Briana that was taken on August 3rd, 2015 (Louis confirmed the baby on the very next day on GMA). This sonogram is notable BECAUSE - drumroll pleasseeeee - it was taken at a FERTILITY CLINIC which specialized in surrogacy and IVF. So this is a clinic that only treats people who cannot have children naturally. To make matters more interesting, the clinic does not do non-client visits, and they did not do them in 2015. You simply could not go to this clinic if you had an accidental pregnancy because those are not the kinds of clients served by this clinic! I mean, if nothing else, this shows that Briana did not get accidentally pregnant by Louis, if she was pregnant at all. Likely, it was another fucked up photoshop job, where they switched Tammi’s name for hers and just forgot to change the name of the clinic. Sighhh. We knew this, of course, but WOW does this prove it concretely, huh? Anyways, I cannot BELIEVE that they are still fucking up THIS BADLY five years later, but uh. Yeah. Happy Birthday, Freddie, hope you got more than an apple this year! 

But that’s not the ONLY stunt that’s becoming faker and faker: Fauxlivia is proving itself to be nothing but the cash, and the cars, and the glory…and the pretty clothes, apparently! Turns out, Olivia is a brand ambassador for La Ligne in much the same way that H works for Gucci. She’s been featured on their instagram many MANY times, and has, thus far, worn their clothes for no fewer than TWO of the Holivia pap walks. Strangely enough, though, when this whole stunt began to manifest in late October, HARRY began featuring on their Instagram page as well. Totally Organically, of course, considering that they’d never talked about him before! That AND: the pink beanie that H was wearing in their dumb af Parking Lot Pap Walk has ALSO been idenfied to be La Ligne, which I’m sure he Just Decided to begin wearing and it had NOTHING to do with Jeff being Right There and them having promoted Gucci together at Jeff’s wedding. Mhmmmmm they’ve convinced me they’re TOTALLY in love. Celebrities that promo together, stay together, after all! (Oh, is that not the saying?)

Meanwhile, Liam’s Final Act merch has been delayed, and he has asked people to “contact him when they get it” (Harry’s team could NEVER), and JC Stewart called Niall “one of the nicest guys in music”. I’m sure he agrees! And, Niall has his own little discourse today - so much for him not creating any drama, huh? There were some shirtless pics of him posted by an ~source~ where he seems to have been working out (Niall has ABS now??) and is arranging a stack of boxes that read “nude” (just like Niall, huh?). UAs battled it out whether or not these pics should have been posted because he did not know they were being taken and there’s ETHICS involved, but Niall hangs out shirtless so much ANYWAYS that I bet he doesn’t mind.

Episode 2 of Liam's Play On is out-- it's his weekly podcast co-hosted with sports annoucer Jaydee Dyer where they interview FIFA stars and musicians about football and favorite songs with a focus on inspirational positivity (sincerely do they use madlibs to come up with ideas for Liam's projects??) Lots of Liam chat and reminiscing! He talks about meeting various famous people, including mentioning getting to do free kicks with football legend Ronaldo (very topical!) and says “I just think back to those times of being in the band and it was just so much more chill and everything was just happening around us, and then life just hits you in the face” and “I feel like life just wants to throw you a different lemon everyday, you just have to take it” (is this... positivity?) and about how early in COVID lockdown he was making dance music at home all the time- “I went back into producing. My house was like living in Ibiza, like a nightclub most days.”

He also gets excited to learn one of his guests is calling in from LA and says “I love LA! I miss it!” Well, maybe so, but not enough to call off the sale of his LA house: that's right, many price drops later, Liam has finally unloaded the haunted LA mansion, and the buyer was a high profile directioner-- Halsey! While lots of fans might be fascinated by that house's rich history of being used as a location for various staged moments, or just want their very own garden tea house, it's not just anyone that can manage to pay $10 million, so a perfect fit there. And speaking of unobtainable real estate, Hello! has discovered where Harry's $6.4 million NYC apt is and decided to publish a picture of the building. Most of us could never afford to live there, but now anyone can go bother Harry in person when he's in NY, how lovely :/

Zayn remains MIA, which is not normally newsworthy but it's his fault it's worth comment for saying he was going to do lives “every night this week.” It was a suspect premise, we shouldn't have been taken in, but alas, hope springs eternal! Last night's listening party was uneventful, and it seems our Tues surprise was maybe the limited merch? A teaching assistant from Zayn's childhood school shared a poster he signed and sent to her a few months ago, that was a nice surprise, but not I think what they meant.  It says “thanks for having patience with a very mischievious child... you know me as Zain :)” and she shared some memories-- “he was a bit shy... he was always polite and well mannered... I said he'd break hearts when he got older but I wasn't prepared for him actually doing that on this scale lol” and more cute things, as well as that he donated enormous christmas trees and decorations to the school a few years ago.

Pitchfork gave Zayn a bad and condescending review, which was easily predictable based on everything else they've ever written, but then they took the bizarre step of changing the opening to it in response to ztan outrage, though ofc leaving all the negative parts in. It originally opened with “five days after a mob stormed the U.S. Capitol, as the Congress lurched towards a second impeachment, Zayn tweeted his phone number...” which they then changed (“for clarity”) to “amid the constant political turmoil that has shaken the foundations of American democracy” but WHY? That does nothing to correct the implied framing of Zayn as an American artist in situating his promo with relation to U.S. political events; do they know he's British?? But mostly-- you don't like the album, fine, but don't try to pretend it's because you have some moral high ground for disapproving of his release date, you know? Give me a break.

Niall talks about U.S. politics all the time, they should have used it for him if they were gonna go that way. Why just today he came online to live tweet the Biden inauguration a bit-- “the temperature just fell 100 degrees” (in response to Pence appearing) and “needed that speech big time” in response to a tweet about feeling hopeful for the first time in a long time. Niall pal Conor O Donohoe tweeted a sappy little verse about bringing someone coffee in bed because forever doesn't seem like enough and Niall commented “I'd be very surprised if you knew how to make a coffee” then they make fun of almond and oat milk coffees and plenty of other banter, including confirmation: Niall's nickname is Nelly now, please update your records.

With two Zayn lives behind us, fans were excited to think they'd gotten an idea of what to expect and settled in, ready for another late night/early morning live-- to no avail! The sun rose all around the world with no sign of Zayn, except an ad bit for the Harry Potter game thing (a video of him being like "I updated my avatar to show my new hair" with his hair from last month) and him demo-ing the NIL insta filter (it's a little video game!) We were told to expect a surprise today, remember, as of press time I remain unsurprised, but with us going on Zayn Standard Time for this promo one could argue that there are still like 13 hours left in today! Some zquad (pronounced zgwad as Zayn helpfully sounded out on the last live though tbh I think the time he spelled out how to pronounce it was funnier) were hopeful that today's live was delayed for zomething more exciting, and some justified his absence like so: technically the first ones were after midnight where he was, so if you go by what DATE they were done on, he's already done today's! I mean... I GUESS. Anyway, (Nobody is) Listening Parties were scheduled for today, the second of three days they'll happen on; one of today's already happened without any major excitement but the other is this evening sooo? Surpise me! The earlier one featured exclusive merch, a cool t-shirt which you can also get by tuning in tonight, and the Zaynbot in action ("are you excited?!" "who wants some airhorn?"). And for now, there is a playlist takeover on spotify (Pop and Play playstation playlist). 25 Zayn curated songs and a new picture (from an old photshoot) for the cover! Note that only the first 25 songs on the playlist are his picks though, not the ones below. And NIL was the most played album on spotify this weekend worldwide! Nice. I also am enjoying seeing pictures of the big promo posters in cities all over the world, very cool looking.

Don't Worry Darling resumed filming, and Harry Lambert said "isn’t it weird to think five or six years ago, something like that could cause such a stir?" about Harry's black and white floral suit and he means in the eras of fashion, but it hits hard when you think about Harry (Styles)' personal journey in that way too, doesn't it? We've come a long way, baby.

A slow completely dead news day except for Zayn doing a live... which is bizarre sentence to write tbh wow, 2021 is already weird af too huh?! Anyway, Zayn live #2! Again, mostly loud music (NIL obvs) you couldn't quite hear him over and Z just being like what you can see my pretty face, what more do you want, but he said a little bit more this time. Maybe it was because he liked typing in the cool alien font he found, which is also the only thing that actually gets him talking out loud; he complains about people not liking his fonts and then gets excited about the supporters, "eeey somebody said wonderful font king! see?!" but the real news here is he also said WOOPSEH DAISY, now that's what I'm here for. Anyway he used his fancy font to say that he's getting a tattoo for the album today and will show us it tonight, that pineapple on pizza is great, and to defend his fonts. He gets someone to make him a microwave pizza and eats it after the topic comes up ("I bet they're makin memes out of me eating pizza", lol, zelf aware king), wishes they had chips, and talks about missing samosas. And! Actual news! He said “so I seen some people askin if I did the album artwork-- and the answer is yes! I painted it” and he said the Vibez video was his concept and “new video soon”! Also soon-- more new music?! He’s been working on new music nights it seems, then doing the very late lives (5:30 am EST this time, 4 am last time), and says this time that he just finished a sick song and that he’s “working on Z4 at the mo”! UMMM? WOW.

His label hyped him up on their website, and has a quote-- “I just want to do my music,” he once said, “and if people hear about me from their friend, it’s cooler than me being in their face all the time” (you can practically hear the people in charge of doing his promo crying in despair). They add "rather than settle for following musical trends or coasting on his celebrity, he chooses to experiment and evolve" and that his two producer tracks on NIL (Calamity and River Road) are his first.

Zayn tweeted “yo who's listening,” yes yes very clever, but the real news is Zayn did a LIVE (omg??) and said he was going to be on again EVERY NIGHT THIS WEEK (OMG??!) Live #1 is him vibing to NIL, smoking weed, reading comments, a little crooning along, and he answered some questions, which you could barely hear over the music. He said his favorite song on the album is Connexion (he didn't comment on the possible kazoo on the track but if it's really the next single as rumored we'll get more chances to explore that), cracks up at someone asking whether he can sing while he's high, but mostly just chilled for like 20 minutes! For us! Then it cut off abruptly and he posted “battery died see you tomorrow,” with a cute fanart. Stuff he said in chat, well first off just a smattering of yeses which showed up under various random questions, thannnnks for confusing people Z, plus: "was workin on some new stuff tonight," "got some other cool shit," "so proud of this album," "Baba Malik," and "deadass thanks." The NIL truck, Vibez van, Calamity mobile, whatever it is-- it's got West Coast clone now and is out and about, driving around to visit people at home around LA and give them their chance inside the decorated black lit interior. Zayn reposted the California peoples' videos of them enjoying the inside of it with their masks and with the official camera crew filming it all, including Ingrid Michaelson, Vanessa and Natalia Bryant, Tanya Rad, and Syd (with her dog!), who posted more about When Love's Around too; “We wrote and recorded this song in an Airbnb in San Pedro lol along with some other chunes you guys are bound to hear one day”. “Siiiiiick” Zayn said to Jojo– the set up is exactly the same as the NY van but did he actually see that one in person, no reason to think so tbh.

Jeff Azoff, the man responsible for One Night Only at the Forum, perhaps the most poorly organized event since Dashcon (I won't even go into that Superbowl concert where attendees were forced out of the leaking venue into filthy knee high water and a major tropical storm and left stranded on an island, as Jeff wasn't the direct promoter of that event), posted his opinion that “if the live event industry was tasked with vaccination distribution we would have it done in a weekend, sold t-shirts and beer and a meet and greet with Fauci” and I'm so gobsmacked I can't barely muster anything but a heartfelt THANK GOD they are not in charge of this vital service. They certainly would seize the opportunity of a medical necessity to sell us overpriced merch though, yeah, that part rings hideously true.

But would anyone actually GET that merch or would customers merely hand over the money and hope? Watermelon Sugar vinyls (sold in July of last year) have for the most part still not arrived, and patience for HSHQ's evasions is wearing extremely thin throughout the fandom. While last year's fire that destroyed one of the only two facilities left in North America making lacquer masters (necessary to manufacture records) could be the source of a bottleneck that would cause this particular delay (and HSHQ not offering Golden on vinyl like they did for every other Fine Line single suggests to me that it is a manufacturing problem and they had realized it by the time that song was released), the failure to provide actual respectful (or really ANY) customer service to the thousands trying to contact them about this or other merch issues (which are less comprehensively horrid but there are plenty) is completely their fault. ...TPWK? Choose Love? <Deadpan Harry voice: ‘okay.’>

Niall, like the legend of the Bloody Mary, was invoked by saying his name thrice; he liked a tweet-- “niall niall niall.” And Olivia Rodrigo talked about how grateful she was for him- “The fact that he reached out to me was amazing. We’ve actually been like texting and he’s giving me like advice on all the craziness of the music industry. It’s been really amazing.”

Plus, TPWK debuted on the UK charts at #28, love that number, and Louis tweeted! “Hope everyone's doing alright! Have a good day/night!” THANKS BABE!!

It is album promo season and the press is buzzin’! Reviews are coming out left and right, and fans are reporting that Zayn’s team said at last night’s listening party that’s ~something special~ was coming on Tuesday, which is the day of the last listening party. Time for us to join Harry with *our* Sherlock hats and look into this one! Or, you know, we could wait it out, but what’s the fun in THAT? Speaking of FUN, “Unfuckwitable” co-writer Nikki Flores said, “Sometimes u gotta write some shit into existence even when u don’t believe the words yet yourself. Unfuckwitable was one of those that made me feel invincible listening back to it 🥰✨ I hope it’s your new boss anthem”. It SURE FUCKING IS! “Tightrope” co-writer Ernest Smith told the story of how the song came to be: it was a cut song that Zayn later asked to write on, and came up with the “something told me it was You”, which, he says, “worked BEAUTIFULLY”. And while on the topic of co-writers, this is your reminder that Cole Citrembaum, who co-wrote Better, ALSO co-wrote DLIBYH so it is missing zouis hourssss. Mae Muller (of the LP Act 2 show) said “Zayn’s album is soooooo good” and clearly fans agree because it has spent another day topping charts! Cheers, Zayn, you deserve it!

And it’s a good thing we have Zayn news because the rest of the day was so boring fans have taken to making up fake Chinese news articles about the budding jealous romance between Louis and Jason Sdsksksk. Nothing else happened today. Not even an Instagram like :{(.
