Harry is getting over a breakup. Louis doesn't date. Neither of them is interested in a relationship -- but they are interested in each other's bodies. It takes a global pandemic for them to admit that maybe there's more than just lust between them.

“The way I see it,” Louis says, shrugging, “there’s not much a boyfriend could give me that I can’t get from my own hand or a stranger in a bar.” Harry feels a shiver run down his spine as Louis looks at him, his piercing blue eyes feeling like they’re staring straight through him. “What do you think, Harry?” Louis asks. “Want to be a stranger in a bar tonight?”

Louis was the first one down the row for their group. If he hadn’t been they would have never met. He was turned around, walking backwards and saying to Liam, “No, I’ll get you to a real footie match next,” when he bumped into someone. “Oops,” Louis laughed, tripping over his own feet. A hand curled around his upper arm as he nearly fell over the seat in front of him. “Sorry about that, mate.” He turned around, still teetering in his vans, to apologize again, but the words dried in his throat. Another hand gripped his other elbow, steadying him, but all Louis could see were green eyes and dimples. “Hi,” the man laughed, a bright, bubbling sound. “Are you okay?”

Or Louis is in his first year of law school, Harry is a junior on the swim team dreaming of the Olympics, and they both agree that they don't have time for anything more than friends with benefits... right?

My fic for the @1dsongfest has just been revealed. I had so much fun writing this and it took some turns I wasn't expecting.

Harry fell in love with Louis' eyes the second he saw them the first time at the X-factor audition. He's been in love for 15 years and never thought he'd ever see the boy with the beautiful blue eyes again. Liam, Niall and Zayn decide to prank Harry at the interview where they announce that the band is back together. Unknow to Harry the boy of his dreams will be the one interviewing them. Harry's wearing an embarrassing shirt the first time he sees Louis again, but luckily for him Louis finds it amusing. Harry's dream boy becomes his dream man as their relationship develops.

"You being in love with me is not a 'you' problem!" he grew more and more frustrated as he sprinted forward. In a trice, the comforting quietude of their vicinity had switched to something which seemed as haunting as the silence of a grave.

"You always had the heart of mine," he heard a hushed murmur so quiet Louis might as well be just speaking to himself.

Foreslketown's carnival had been a fest of elation to them as kids. By the time they reached pre-teens, it was an unspoken tradition- attending the last evening of the carnival for the year and watching the lights flicker throughout the night. Until, what used to be a matter of ecstasy abruptly turns into a state of disconsolateness when Louis misses an evening one year, only to find out that- that very evening was supposed to be the last one with Harry, before he moves to Blathe. Being the bearer of this horrifying news, Harry also takes it upon himself to make sure that they don't miss seeing the swirl of flashing lights for the last time.

Harry taps on Louis' window with a sad smile. They sneak into a closed carnival. A starry night comprised of them running around the abandoned premises with their fingers intertwined ensues.

Harry will always be Louis’ little dove, but it makes him chuckle as he swallows down his daily Centrum Silver multivitamin.
