Hello it's been awhile!

By the end of this month I'm going to have all my works actually edited and all typos and weird things fixed and all of them will be archived onto a different blog with some of my other writing. I'm tired of losing everything to the various voids. After that, this blog will be deleted because I'm not really in the fandom anymore and haven't been since summer really.

I'll still finish the wips i have, maybe write a couple more, but I got very tired of writing the same characters and got burnt out because of it. I'll make another post before I delete giving another heads up, but for now I wanted to announce where I was going if anyone that likes my writing would want to know.

This was a cool community to be a part of and I'm a much better writer now than a couple years ago because of all the work I did, so thanks to the people that liked and encouraged it💜

I’m sure we’ve all heard the writing phrase “Kill your darlings”–or in other terms, don’t be afraid to cut out plot points you may love or worked hard on but are ultimately unnecessary to the overall story. 

But just because a particular plot point doesn’t work in the current story arc or even the same story as its origins doesn’t mean it can’t work elsewhere in a future story. Personally, there’s been many moments where I’m thankful I held onto scrapped writing and it’s always a giddy feeling to take parts of scrapped writing and frankensteinize them for other works.

Kill your darlings–more like cryogenically freeze your darlings so you can steal parts of them later for other works.

This isnt a joke my favorite piece of writing advice that I’ve ever seen is someone that said if you were stuck with a fic and couldn’t figure out why or what was wrong, your problem is actually usually about ten sentences back. Maybe there was something wonky about the tone or the dialogue or you added something that didn’t fit but it’s usually ten sentences back. And every single time I get stuck in a fic I count back ten sentences and it’s always fucking there

I know it's common knowledge that writers and artists are hard on themselves, but in case any of you need to hear this today:

1. You are not wasting your time writing.

2. You are not terrible.

3. The comparisons you make to writers you think are better than you, I guarantee there are writers that do that to your writing.

4. You are INCREDIBLE. What you do is HARD and you continue to push through it.

5. Be nicer to yourself! You're doing great.

Time for the local snake boi!

It responds to the name 'Janus', and is one of the more intelligent and cooperative SCPs. It seems interested in the research being documented, glad to cooperate and answer questions, even allowing them to touch and prod its body for their research. Unfortunately, it has been found to be a compulsive liar, and no one can tell when its lying and when its telling the truth, even the most advanced lie detector.

Its incredibly smart, but not an all knowing being. It can answer almost any math or science question, given a little time. It seems to like philosophical questions the most and finds it fun to debate them with whoever is willing. It also seems to have an affinity for riddles.

For a time, it was consulted for questions about research, including other SCPs, but once it was found to lie constantly--as well as messing with the others by immitating their voices--it was taken from consulting. However, once it was stopped from it's research and participation, it managed to escape its holding and ate a good number of guards as vengeance. Thus, it is mandatory that it be talked to at least once a day, and presented with a question it can debate. Never expect a truthful answer out of it, and always double check before trusting its word.

It must be fed large amounts of meat, a mix of live and dead, once a week. It is to be fed through the chute attached to its room, and any personnel interacting with it are to stay behind the glass. 'Janus' is good with its words, and is able to spit a highly deadly venom, which is to be avoided at all costs.

Hope you all like this one! Design/abilities may change slightly, as I'm not entirely set on it yet (may or may not be able to shapeshift, was also thinking about his ability to shut people up), but who knows. I was worried that would make it too cluttered in terms of powers. Let me know what you guys think :3
