A Brief Diatribe On Progress.
Progress doesn't necessarily mean disregarding or circumventing religious or societal strictures, dogma or cultural belief systems. Civilization has continued for some time and will do so as more or less cohesive religious and social structures.
Maintaining society as a kind of dystopia for as long as it's been seems to be the major calling in life for most of us. Elon Musk's rockets blowing up left and right and anyone who's ever gone through the McDonald's drive through with a microphone that sounds like Charlie Browns teacher can attest to that.
Dysfunction is the new functionality and doing everything halfassed is still the American way, although now it seems as though countries around the world are adopting our particular way of doing, believing and being. Good luck.

Regret and disappointment and betrayal lead to becoming jaded or cynical or bitter. They creep up quietly, like a thief in the night. One traumatic or tragic experience... one after another, and soon you lose your self-respect and whatever good feeling you had about yourself is stolen away.
If you're lucky tears come. Often. And you might not lose feeling altogether. But the way you view those people or kinds of situations changes forever, too.
A lyric from a Guns and Roses song says " You'll be lucky to get out of life alive". But, I'm pretty sure they mean with your heart and soul intact, not bent or broken. But often I think that's what life does to someone. And it's like living however long you have left like you're already dead... inside.
It takes a unique person and a very special kind of love to fight to unburden someone of the weight that life tries to crush them with. Sometimes you don't see that kind of love until it passes you by... but the lucky ones can know something better. I just hope mine hasn't passed me by yet. I would pray for that kind of redemption.

Life has no shortage of turmoil and arduous tasks to lay before us in our day-to-day lives. I believe that all the tragic "special occasions" are there to remind us that we're alive and that we would probably want to stay that way.
Just keep in mind that the future us has today's us to thank for existing like our current selves have our pasts to look back toward to help feed our better judgment.
Taking responsibility for our own actions and trying to meet obligation adequately are some of the most difficult tasks that we can undertake as adults.
Keep your head up and continue adulting as best you can and carry ever onward.

Wrong Number
-----------------------------
So many gracefully pause, desperate attempts to reconnect. Foggy brains, foggier hearts.
Animosity acts while compassion behaves, always wrong although interchangeable. Does a rip in the heavens signal rapturous glory? Clouds dancing. Ever away.
These supermen are supernovas, they'll burn out one day. When the curtain is drawn on their stage plays. Everyone does, no one doesn't. Although in a far away ever, not forever.
Everyone seems, unknowingly, to express how mistaken, or how gleefully deceptive? No one's nailed it yet.. on a cross, or in back alleys made of filth and mirth, in a feeble, drunken kind of glory.
Interjection, intercedents, secrets displayed for those clouds dancing. Sadness. Tragedy. Clean up. Call in the vultures.. or the wolves.
Caring always leaves too much to do and not enough to say. Hatred is too much on any front. I think Beelzebub is enraptured in quite a plenty. It just goes on.. and on.
A parting thought.. maybe there's more than a shape in a cloud and lava below. Continue toward what drives us. Maybe there's something of a someday left. For more than a few. And there's so much left to do. Or, perhaps to undo.
And we carry ever onward.

A glitch.
Glitching.
Everything glitches. Electronics, cars, people, situations. If you find the original way, is no longer working the way it should, or the way it was meant to there are always ways around the malfunctions.
They may not be like factory new but you might still be able to make your devices or relationships passible n' function in an acceptable way. If I could have learned that lesson when I was much, much younger, my life would be very different today.
Always try to make something work before you trade It in for something that doesn't meet original quality standards.
Alone. So alone yet carrying ever onward.

Shimmering Blue
I spend more time, I think, outside than in.
Only brief reprieves for a cloud maker.
Above, waves foamy and bright break against the blue beyond.
Or maybe what lies beyond is what broke us below.
Still like waves ebbing and flowing inside our still woefully inadequate mortal coils.
But when our waves break there's chaos, death.
We haven't learned our lessons yet.
Too many lessons in pain.
Pain is free.. take as much as you want.
But what you could learn from it would probably live darkly in a thimble with room to spare.
And a tractor trailer filled to bursting with all the lessons we provide each other, then ignore... or ignite.
Passion rages and hatred consumes.
In a family.. . so many lessons to learn.
But nothing is ever free. Who and what we call our own crash against the tide.
And even in an Earthly garden pruned of its heavenly delights, even then, a wild love can push its way back toward the wild, shimmering, blue.

A spiritual dilemma
God's cruelty is refining in so much as it's designed to bring us closer to Him and an entrance into Heaven, albeit through his son. In direct opposition to HIM in the spectrum of light and dark.
Lucifer has bestowed upon us the knowledge to engage in sacrilegious carnality meant to bring us closer to HIM and a place in Hell. Some imagine Heaven as being a sterile environment where, for millenia, we'll have the distinct privilege of showering God with hallelujahs and hosanna's, while Lucifer may allow us a far greater array of pleasures in His presence below.
For many pain on Earth equals the aforementioned pleasure in heaven, praising our creator while pleasure on Earth means a certain Purgatory or Hell that we really wouldn't want to reach one day. A simple ponderance from myself, Angel by name.
Whatever you believe.. or how you go about bringing it to its final fruition, carry ever onward.

A brief dissertation on death and loss
--------------------------------------
Everything that has ever lived has died and everything that will ever live will die. Death is the absence of life where there was once a presence like cold is simply the absence of warmth.
The loss of someone close to you can bring about tremendous personal change. Sometimes in beneficial ways sometimes detrimental.
No one is ever as selfish or expresses the ego as greatly as those experiencing loss. When someone's alive their presence is quite naturally taken for granted but when they leave you all you can really feel is their absence in your life. It becomes grief for the loss of a piece of yourself that you always gave to another and will never experience again in quite such a way..
You lose a piece of yourself in the process. There's a quote from Stephen King's book Desperation "God can be inconceivably cruel... sometimes he lets us live." And we do through all manner of pains and turmoil and if you consider yourself a lucky one for living long enough you'll lose everything and everyone who ever mattered to you.
We're left to deal with such tragic circumstances with a kind of forced and focused absent-
mindedness and hopefully time enough to dull the impact.
Carry ever onward because you just have to live. Through loss too.

Let's all live under a "Rule of Rules" instead! I hear those are meant to be bent or broken...LOL
In this nation, we live under the Rule of Law, not necessarily a rule of common sense or elevated judgment.
