Hobbit/Halfling NPCs! I'm thinking of drawing a bunch of people from each race in DND (and by extension lotr races for my lotr fallowers which is all of you). My idea is to have a variety of people to represent each demographic including: a soldier (note: hobbit don't have armies, so i subbed in a farmer) an elder, a child, a craftsperson (a baker in this case) a store clerk, and a rich person (who somehow just ended up being the 6th doctor who in hobbit form) Tell me in the replies and/or tags which species I should do next!

Did some doodles today :) Bilbo wanted to teach Thorin how to make flower crowns, figuring that for once HE will be the one who knows how to do something that Thorin doesn't. for day two of @khazadweek - second age i did not care about rop. i was not planning on watching rop. but then i saw that there were dwarves and i had no other choice. to me disa and durin are the main characters. everything with galadriel and sauron and shit is just b-plot.

#They are DWARVES and they are IN LOVE and they are BEST FRIENDS #no. 1 most important thing for a ship for me is do i think that they genuinlly enjoy just hanging out. and these two def enjoy #each others company so much #disa rings of power #durin iv #truths drawings #rings of power #am i allowed to tag this tolkien? #oh! about the background! this goes back to my dwarf religion lore! #so they of course venerate aule as their creator.. and while I don't think that care that much about many of the other valar #i think yavanna does hold a place in their.. religion ig #EXEPT for them yavanna is their creators wife - and so while she didn't/doesn't hold this role in dwarven religion she is also #the godess of romantic love #and so instead of a heart being the symbol of love it's very much growing things. #flowers mushrooms even leaves are all symbols that hold in dwarven culture the meaning of a loveheart <3 in ours #the elves are not thrilled about this. they are like “my grandma knew yavanna. she's a real person. you can't just make shit up about her” #and the dwarves are like “wrong acutally she is my step-mom” and go back to carving a mushroom for their lover #ALSO disa's face boots.. fashion icon. #no one is doing it like her

Okay.. I don't have much time today.. so in case I can't draw my other idea here are some things that I drew from a fic wip of mine! It's set in the 3rd age and features a young Thorin, Dis, Balin, and 2 OCs traveling to the blue mountains, hoping to find the ruins of belegost or nogrod, whose locations have been lost to time since 40SA (see! it's technically in the 2nd age! it counts!) when they get there they find that the blue mountains are not in fact empty.. but that a small group of dwarves - decendents of belegostian miners - have been living in old mining colonies. this is kind of an exploration of tolkiens world circa LOTR being "post appocalyptic" and is this classic sort of story of great ancient civalization destroyed by flood, with a small group of survivors who belive they are the last of their kind, and live for generations in solitude with the old ways while the world changes and regrows around them" The staircase is the entrance into the maze of tunnels that lead to where Dis's future spouse and their family lives. only the chest and book in the second image are remnants of that 2nd age culture - even then it is more likely that they are recreations of older versions. Because they are sort of a time capsule of the 1st and 2nd age there are some dwarven magics that the rest of the dwarrow of middle earth are no longer privy of. The candles are something that Dis's spouse made, and I imagine actually being a new part of their culture, not held over from the ancient civilization. (the crossbow and knife belong to my OCs, who were born in the 3rd age.. one could argue that they are diplomats.. but karku couldn't have a diplomatic conversation if her life depended on it) okay i realize now that very little of this actually fits the prompts. it's just rambling headcanons and personal worldbuilding.. i'm not gonna tag khazadweek but i am gonna post it. guess im gonna have to draw disa after all.. (oh no.. what a tragedy...)

Thirty Minutes to Change Your Life

Thorin chuckled and took a drink of his beer for courage. He’s learned that asking people out at bars takes a bit of strategy. Going for the nonchalant play, he decided to walk by their table until he found a point in their conversation where he could jump in. It works well for him most of the time. Only this time, he heard something that nearly had him stop cold.

“You say this every year! You’re not going to jump, Bilbo.” The cousin groaned.

“Nope. You won’t change my mind this time, Siggy. I’ve got nothing to lose. I’m doing it this time.”

It's a short story about the loneliness, despair, and humour inherent to the state of being alive. It's truly adorable, and you should give it a read!
