The older I get the more I admire people who are earnestly, genuinely into whatever their thing is. idea i just had

mc is a borrower living in someone’s walls. they’re sneaky but as all good borrower stories go they eventually get caught.

this someone ends up being somewhat of a magician/chemist and, after becoming closer with mc, decides to do some spell on them to make them human sized.

this spell has to be redone every once in awhile to keep mc from shrinking, but eventually mc gets caught in a situation where the magician isn’t near them. and they start shrinking. slowly, but surely.

magician person will do anything to protect this borrower and is FREAKING OUT.

AND. AND

magician fellow starts running out of the stuff they need to grow MC. but they don’t wanna leave MC out of their sight, so they just take MC with them, going from pretending it’s their short friend to it’s their child to it’s their baby on and on…

also, what about an accidental over-dosage?

magician is trying to find a new formula type stuff to get MC to stay big longer but ends up over calculating it and MC ends up like 10 feet tall and not shrinking any time soon.

I love the idea of different borrower fashions. Like, if you can only use found items that the human you live with would be likely to lose, then you're pretty limited to A) the human's own aesthetic, and B) how forgetful they are with their items. Say you live with a very clumsy and forgetful human- you get to go HAM with your own style and aesthetic- lots of socks to cut up, tons of different accessories to mix and match. Or maybe you live with a very clean and particular person- Your clothing choices are few and far between, maybe you're better off ripping apart the underside of the couch for fabric. Alt human = alt borrower, clean girl human = clean girl borrower. And unless the borrowers are super social and meet with others a TON, they'd have no idea that the fashion they're wearing is anything but typical. Like, imagine you're from a goth human home and you run into a frat house borrower. Each would definitely think the other is a Kreature.
