There is something so magnificent about the human fascination with the bright mess of the night sky, and the certainty that every one of my ancestors was familiar with the same sight, even if nothing else in our lives looks the same.

“I had the lonely child’s habit of making up stories and holding conversations with imaginary persons, and I think from the very start my literary ambitions were mixed up with the feeling of being isolated and undervalued. I knew that I had a facility with words and a power of facing unpleasant facts, and I felt that this created a sort of private world in which I could get my own back for my failure in everyday life.”

I wish there was more asexual romance representation in media; witnessing relationships where s3x is always a compulsory component kinda makes me feel as if I'm missing out on something being the way I am.
Not that there's anything wrong with that - s3x being portrayed or being a component - I have OCs who have relationships where s3x is a thing, but still idk. I guess it could even be a different way of portraying characters, it's way more challenging for a creator to have people ship two characters without them being s3xually together.
:/ hm

one of the most challenging skills i've had to learn as an adult is the art of figuring out whether i'm proportionally annoyed with someone or just tired and overstimulated and looking for reasons to be pissed off

Lucifer faced the city of Jericho, leaning from the Mount.
"I wish Jesus never died. I wish he had such a long, happy, possibly immortal life. I wish his crucifixion had never taken place, as beautiful as it is to watch someone everyone believes to be God's only son collapsing into the arms of a slow and dreadful tragedy.
If he truly was sent by the Father to atone Earth's sins with his death, then I would have saved him myself, and protected him from any possible pain with all of my power. Sheltered him from any wound, illness or even just a cough. I would have protected him so that humanity would still be headed for its doomed and eternal damnation.
That could have been my most cruel act and yet the most ironic: keeping someone alive in order to kill every single soul there is on this poor and wasted planet.
So poetic...if only someone had really come from the Heavens to save them".

This is an excerpt from either a spin-off or a parallel narrative of a book I still have to write...I will determine by the end of the year, probably (yeah, I'm not underestimating myself, choosing is a serious bummer for me).
In my universe, as implied in the excerpt, Jesus is not the son of God, or at least, he's His son the same way humans are His sons and daughters. His role in Creation is merely that of a prophet, just like in Islam's conception of Christ and thus, his death doesn't have any relevant role/meaning as far as humanity's salvation is concerned (in Islam, Jesus is not even believed to have actually died, so that's different). This is what Lucifer is talking about here, on top of Mount Quruntul, not much time after his crucifixtion, he's talking about his actions if Jesus' role was that of dying violently in order to cleanse humanity from sin; if that was true, Lucifer would have protected him just to prevent humanity from receiving salvation. And that's really the twist: do apparently good deeds, to cause major evil consequences.
And yeah, well, I can get a big nerd with all the philosophical implications of this (as if philosophy topics I'm passionate about weren't what I keep referring in my works lmao).
Anyway, I really hope you liked the excerpt :)

idk people just think that because of what I write and the way I write about the topic, I believe in God or I have some kind of related faith in angels or any supernatural being, but the truth is, I'm not a believer, I'm an agnostic and this post is so true and heartbreaking.
it's been a year so i feel more comfortable talking about it..
when you're atheist and you lose someone, religious people don't really know how to interact with you. it's fine, we have different worldviews.
'He's in a better place, now.'
Sorry auntie, but I don't believe that. I believe that his brain stopped working at 5h55pm on december 11th 2022, and that's it. Nothing after that.
It makes grief very difficult, because not believing in god or the afterlife also means accepting that you will never, ever see that person again. That's it. The end. Nada mas.
But, back to the aunties and other faceless people gravitating in the grey blurry waters of your awareness.
They tell you 'He's with god now' and you tell them 'Yeah I don't believe that' and.
they. get. annoyed.
Here I am, gutted open, the worst day of my life, barely holding myself together, and they! Get annoyed that I won't smile and entertain their point of view!
Another faceless person tried to heal me with cristals. She also got annoyed when I told her I didn't believe in that.
I usually don't really mind religious people. It's fine, we have different worldviews. I think I'm right but so do they. As long as they're good people, I don't judge them for their faith.
I'll even be grateful for them trying to console me. I get that you're trying to give me strength and love. Thank you.
But I'm going to be true to myself, yes even when I'm mad with shock and grief. And I still can't believe they got annoyed that I didn't play along to placate them, on the worst day of my life.
(I wanted to share because I've never heard anyone talk about atheism and grief, and the loneliness that comes out of it.)

"I want your name to be whispered and respected, because pronouncing it will be equivalent to pronouncing mine. You will be my eyes, you'll be what I need to heart, you will be my lips and my word.
In the same way you chose to sacrifice yourself for me, I will put my blindest trust in you. Forever.
Do you understand, Asmodeus?"

I'm way more active on Instagram (@a.thenais), where, however, I post mainly in Italian, but recently I started translating my contents in English as well...and here's one about my novels' main characters, Lucifer & Asmodeus, who are also in a very complicated relationship.
The quote is the last fundamental interaction that Lucifer and Asmodeus have in "HYBRIS", shortly after the temptation of humanity and shortly after Lucifer, now emptied of all energy and possible euphoria, has realized what will wait for him and all his angels from that moment on: eternal damnation, without exception.
A damnation that however is not the of the unluckiest kind as soon as Asmodeus promises to remain at his side, as an adviser, in his path towards what Lucifer calls "glory", but that is nothing but destruction. This promise will be binding on both parties.
Asmodeus has a strong esteem and admiration for Lucifer, often so strong that it could be considered obsession. His actions and decisions are always aimed at him and his goals, but his way of being close to him is typical of an analytical personality: critical and not hesitant to tell him exactly what he thinks. In short, Asmodeus' fidelity is blind in its intensity, but not in its visibly impartial attitudes.
Lucifer’s feelings, however, are much less intelligible and shielded by a strong rejection of vulnerability. There is not enough space to describe his attitudes and all his hypocrisies, but suffice it to say that Asmodeus, rooted in the objectivity of what exists, is the only individual capable of making reality makes sense when it seems to disappear under the weight of Lucifer's illusions.
(Their relationship is an integral part of my novel series, although it is not the main plot point)
I hope y'all liked this post, I'm sorry for any mistake or weirdly phrased sentence, English is not my first language.
See you either here or on instagram! 🐍💜

As requested, I have examined my fondness for terrible characters, and I have concluded that I like them because they're terrible and I'm not sorry.
