There was a conversation on spiritual weapons and how it makes a god more powerful when they have their own tailor made to fit them. However, Xie Lian doesn't seem to have a spiritual weapon. There's Ruoye but he's a martial god so he should have a martial weapon. This brought up a little theory that Xie Lian maybe is so powerful that he can wield any weapon at all, except there's situations that disprove this theory. Like when they met Rong Guang and how they were more focused on getting away that touching that fuming sword. Xie Lian didn't really try to tame him. Even E'ming that offered himself up willingly was barely wielded and Xie Lian would often give him commands so E'ming would fight independently. Even Fang Xin, the sword he had for the longest time, sort of drifted to him because Bai Wuxiang intended for Xie Lian to inherit Fang Xin. It was never really his.

This brings me to MY headcanon theory rubs hands together.

The first is that Xie Lian's spiritual weapon are his hands because he tends to drop back to martial hand-to-hand combat a lot but that was just because he didn't have a physical weapon that could contain his power so I don't really think that's it.

But my second theory:

Xie Lian DOES have a spiritual weapon....but it's not particularly....a weapon. Hear me out! Hear me out!

In the discussion of the Xianle trio, someone explained that 17 year old didn't really see Feng Xin and Mu Qing as independent beings. He loved them, he cherished them, but to little him they were extensions of him. His precious treasures that he nurtured and raised to bring out their martial brilliance. He imagined they would always be with him because.....drum roll.....THEY WERE HIS WEAPONS! (It's not too farfetched).

I'm not saying that Feng Xin and Mu Qing are literally a bow and a saber (wouldn't mind fanfiction on that though), I'm saying their purpose in Xie Lian's life was a lot like weapons. He took them to every battle he fought, even when he went alone they'd eventually find him and save him (like the Land of Tender). They were the crutches he could always count on until his fall.... Then he started drawing away from his weapons, getting weaker and ultimately loosing everything. So his weapons leave and Xie Lian spends 800 hard years without his spiritual weapons.

Then he meets Hua Cheng...and Hua Cheng becomes his new weapon. Not weapon in the sense that Xie Lian can only see him as a tool, because Xie Lian cherishes his every weapon. He cries over them, he spoils them, he wants them in perfect working condition at all times, and Hua Cheng is always there for him. At first he hesitated with this new weapon, only using Hua Cheng when he has to. Soon, wielding Hua Cheng is as easy as breathing air. Anytime Xie Lian needs power, Hua Cheng just hands it over. With Hua Cheng, Xie Lian is so empowered that he's starting to become a problem to the heavens (with the unlocking so many previously buried drama XD). Xie Lian let's himself believe in eternal love yet again and his bond with his weapon grows infinitely stronger which brings me to my final addition which is....the final battle. ALL HIS WEAPONS ARE PRESENT. There was no fucking way he was gonna loose.
