one thing that i think is really interesting to see due to the new working dynamics, is the physical space between the characters.
in 5x05, hen gets frustrated with eddie being too close while they are working. she says "what are you doing" eddie: "getting into position" hen replies "on my side?" because hen and chimney only every work across from each other aka on each side of the patient v. their positioning when hen questioned eddie compared to buddies usual work style
but eddie is used to working with buck side by side even when it might be a little inconvenient. every time they are working on a patient or on a case in general, they are usually very very close, like touching 90% of the time.
i just think that it is interesting that the writers would make it a point for that to be something hen said, like clearly they wanted it to be known that there was a physical difference in the work style of these partnerships. it just makes it clear that buck and eddies work style is an intentional choice and there obviously is a meaning behind it if it was important enough to be pointed out.

Ravi is so... mentally healthy. Eddie and Buck grew up emotionally neglected, Chimney grew up with a negligent father and a dead mom, Hen got fucking shot... and then there's Ravi. He like grew up in a loving home in the suburbs and the worst thing that probably happened to him is that he accidentally killed his goldfish or something. I love Ravi
One thing I consistently ask myself in this fandom is how anyone can hate Eddie Diaz like??? Even after watching that scene where he drops Chris off at Buck’s loft after the tsunami??? Like my man strode in with his lil backpack full of coloring books, snacks, legos, gave Buck 20 dollars for pizza, was extremely funny and roasted everyone in the room, told Buck a few choice words that ended up being the life raft that brought him home and made him feel seen, and then walked out. Iconic behavior, I’m obsessed with him.

gif 8: from season 5, episode 5. Bobby says, “He came to see me, said he wanted to find her. I told him he should.” Eddies says, “I told him it was the right thing to do.” Hen says, “And I offered to go with him.”
gif 9: from season 3, episode 3. Eddie insists, “No, you saved him. That’s how he remembers it. Now, it’s his turn to do the same for you.”
gif 10: from season 5, episode 5. Offscreen, Hen reassures, “He’s coming back, Buck. With Maddie.” Bobby adds, “And when he does, you’re gonna be right here, where you belong.” Eddie grins and tells Buck, “You’re stuck with us.”
Do u think Eddie knows what a dilf is and do u think he knows that he is one
Well I know you didn’t ask for any of this but now I’m thinking about how funny it would be if Eddie and Chimney are getting hit on during a call and in the truck Chim is bragging about it and Buck is like “hey I didn’t get hit on for once” and Chim goes “well he must’ve been into DILFs” and Eddie’s like “what the heck’s a dilf” and Chimney proudly explains why him and Eddie are dilfs and Eddie’s like “I never want to be called that again. I’m not a dilf” and everyone in the truck protests and Buck is offended on his behalf because “you’re hot Eddie. Everyone knows it.” and then Hen’s like “did we ever tell you about the first time we saw you?” And she tells the story and Bobby is laughing and Eddie is blushing and so embarrassed because yes he knows he’s in good shape and isn’t bad looking but he’s never been able to accept how attractive others think he is and he struggles accepting compliments
It’s the way even out of focus, almost out of shot, Eddie is shaking his head ‘no’ to Buck being hard on himself.
The wonderful @mikereads asked whether I would be writing my weekly meta post even though we only got a few scenes and the answer is, hell yes! Exactly because of content like this. 💖 So off I go, to start typing…
