Alright, to ao3's soon to be arriving Wattpad Refugees, a basic guide to general user culture:

1.) Unlike Wattpads vote system that let's you like each chapter, the ao3 equivalent kudos only allows one per work. Everyone is generally quietly annoyed about this. To engage with each chapter, you're heavily encouraged to comment. Trust me, it makes people's day.

2.) Ao3 has no algorithm. By default it's latest updated work first. You can find things to your taste through searches, filters and tags.

3.) 'No archive warnings apply' and 'user has chosen not to use archive warnings' mean two very different things. No archives warnings means the work is free from any content that could require a warning tag (character death, graphic depictions of violence, non-con, etc). User has chosen not to use archive warnings means it could contain any of the warning content, be it hasn't been explicitly tagged. Treat it like an allergen. No archive warnings apply is allergen free. User has chosen not to use archive warnings, may contain traces or whole chunks of the allergen. If you're likely to have a bad reaction, maybe don't take the risk.

4.) Speaking of warnings, ao3 has very few restrictions on the type of work that's allowed. Whatever your personal thoughts or feelings on that are, thats how the site is. You're likely to run across some dark subject matters and a lot of people are uncomfortable with reading that. You're well within your rights not like these works and have your opinion on whether they should be allowed, but harassing the authors of such works (or any works) is more likely to come back on you than them. Ao3 operates on a strong policy of 'don't like, don't read'. Use the tagging system to your full advantage to only engage with the kind of works you want to see.

I have missed this crew. Had to go back and reread the dramatic ending to the previous chapter to be reminded what had happened to Hongjoong. That was quite an action scene, and the aftermath opens this chapter which is just as gripping.

Seonghwa blinked before he ran a hand through his hair. “Gods, is it that bad that the literal God of Evil is trying to help?” “Yes, actually.” Whiro responded without missing a beat, drawing an involuntary laugh out of some of them.

It really says a lot of great things about Fie's storytelling here that the deity characters from around the world are just as enjoyable as the far more familiar idol based ones. That choice also gives another perspective on the ATEEZ crew of Utopia allowing for a snarkier attitude than the circle of lovers would use to speak of their partners. To Whiro, Seonghwa is "blondie" and "that kid" who needs to go find their leader "shortstack," which is some comic relief as the crew mourns the loss of Hongjoong.

After all the work of setting up backstories in previous chapters it is fun to get to drop back in on now familiar characters- a peek at Hyuna in the tub avoiding a confrontation with Zeus and then Yunho's four parents from his memorable polyamorous family which took the ATEEZ members in. Fie, I'm tearing up at Lloyd. I love this family. I need to go back and reread chapter five to savor their story again.

Oh, oh, oh! I did a word search chapter by chapter to remember who Gracie was and I am so glad I found her in chapter six. Interesting developments indeed. And then poor doomed Hongjoong reborn every 22 years and never remembering his crew. So many emotions stirred up in this adventure. I'm enjoying every installment!

Two traveling friends often wind up at the same rest spot. There they meet a girl, who over time, wishes to have the same adventures they do.

A few years ago you were out getting eggs and bread to take back home, when you happened upon a performance. An orc was playing a lute and singing, and his voice was exceptionally lovely. You stopped in the small crowd to listen, and the orc smiled at you. For a moment you felt the beating of your heart skip, and in that same moment you became aware that someone was uncomfortably close to you. It was a gift you’d developed over the years. You noticed a dark hand near your waist, and you snatched it. The drow behind you looked just as shocked as you were, and the orc’s song halted for a brief moment before he started again at a much more rapid pace.

You came to know the pair as Brimer and Ciran, two friends traveling and using their various talents to make their way in the world. Brimer the orc was a jovial and musically talented fellow, who used his music to distract unsuspecting people. Meanwhile, Ciran the drow would pick pockets. You snatching Ciran’s hand had been a shock to both, and they claimed no one had ever caught Ciran before.

That’s what they told you anyway, after you ran from them. Once they caught up with you, they begged you not to tell. They had been robbed on their way into town and needed some coin in order to get food and shelter for the night. Being the sucker you were, you agreed to let them stay at your family’s inn, but they had to earn their keep for the night. Brimer was charged with performing for the usual patrons, while Ciran did the washing in the kitchen.

Blossom-hwa has a TXT zombie apocalypse story with Taehyun and Beomgyu called things we lost along the way. It is a slow paced feelings piece rather than action but so memorable.

If you are an AO3 reader there is City of the Sky forthcoming from writer Neovisualism. It is an ATEEZ and Stray Kids post-apocalyptic story based on Alita: Battle Angel and was on Tumblr once upon a time and now being rewritten. The female reader is involved with both Seonghwa and Lee Know over the story. I enjoyed it a lot back then even without knowing the source material and Mingi was my favorite character as the reader's mentor.
