A young dude (Ethan) at work in my prep lab does this. Podcasts or videos of some kind, on his phone. He seemed shocked when I said "No one wants to hear whatever you're watching." He looked at me all wide-eyed and eventually said "ok." But he still does it sometimes because he's an inconsiderate fool. Last week I caught him pouring (splashing, really) water directly into strong acid, which is the exact opposite of what you should do.
Don't be like Ethan, y'all.
i'm literally begging people to relearn how to use earbuds and headphones. i don't wanna hear your fucking tiktok while im waiting for my flight.

I'm white and vote Democrat... but I'm not happy about either party. Biden will have a hard time winning simply because of all the spin surrounding him: his policies and what he's done in office, his political history, Hunter, documents in his home/elsewhere, and his age/mental health. I'm a bit worried about his health, too, and I don't like the Biden/Harris support for Israel. Sure, Hamas has done terrible things to Israelis, but that's no reason to systematically attack Palestine. Genocide is genocide. And a land grab is a land grab. We've been warned about this for decades, before I was even born, and I'm Gen X.
I'll still vote for Biden, but I'm worried about all the people who won't -- either they vote for Trump, some 3rd party, or not at all. Anything except a vote for Biden will end up helping Trump.
And the DNC isn't really helping. They haven't been useful for a long, long time. Despite all the money they raise. The Republicans might be split between pro-Trump and against Trump, but Democrats tend to be all over the place, and that's largely what makes the Democrats so weak when they put up a candidate that has a lot of detractors within their own party.
My only hope is that my fellow Democrats actually get behind Biden's candidacy, regardless of what they personally think about him... and that enough Republicans who don't want Trump actually cross party lines when the election comes.
Otherwise, we are screwed... and for a long time to come.
If and when Joe Biden loses the election this year, the most annoying thing to come from during the first week will be that white liberals will get on the Internet and blame everybody but the Democratic Party. They will blame Black people and Arab people and leftist and literally every single person, except for the failings of a party that has failed all of us For over a century.

I'm with the Texas DSHS (dept of state health services), and my team tests (mostly) drinking water samples for radioactive isotopes. But another team tests for metals, including lead, and another tests for organic compounds like pesticides, herbicides, etc.
Home improvement stores (like Home Depot) sell water and soil testing kits, usually with or near gardening supplies. They won't catch everything that could make water supplies harmful, but they are still useful. Any sample that is soluble in water can be tested with water testing kits. Samples that aren't soluble in water might be tested with soil testing kits, with varying accuracy; but if the results are positive for a target analyte, you can be pretty sure it's actually present in the sample.
you know how all those applesauce packets were recalled for lead?
well. it turns out the cinnamon used in them may have been laced with lead on purpose.
fun times in the united states food industry right now am I right folks

I clicked the link, and yes.
However, I feel I must point out that rick rolling is still around, it just has to be sneakier.
On the back of my car and on my little locker at work, I have these big QR code stickers. Anyone who looks up the code will go to YouTube's video for the song, just like the link in the reblog before yours in this thread. I give zero context for the QR codes where they are, unless people think anything else on my locker or car has anything to do with that code, and it doesn't.
I know in my heart that some random person out there occasionally checks it out, out of curiosity. I just never know who or when.
The best Rick Roll I've seen/heard lately is from Jack Black, with his song "Peaches". The verses have the same progression as "Never Gonna Give You Up"'s verses. Not everyone notices, so there are a lot of people out there who have heard the song and don't know they've essentially been Rick Rolled. It's an appropriate homage, really, too... since both songs are about an undying but also somewhat obsessive and controlling love.
I don’t think we’re rick rolling each other enough anymore. 1. it CANNOT die out 2. this under saturated market is perfect for unsuspecting victims who’ve been lulled into a false sense of security. be the person you hate. bring back the dastardly link

I'm stuck in an odd situation right now. I'm at work and had cereal, oat milk, and some fruit for breakfast a while ago. But I started feeling a little bit tipsy or almost high. I did notice that the blueberries and golden berries (a type of sweet husk tomato called a ground cherry or cape gooseberry) were getting overripe and very sweet -- I even threw out a few that looked too far gone -- but now I'm thinking they might actually be slightly fermented.
It's been a while, and I'm trying to help the situation by eating some leftover tamales from last Thursday's potluck (the tamales are still fine). It seems to be helping a bit, but oof 😅. I work for the state, and you can't drink or use recreationals on site... or even return to campus soon after doing either off-site.
Wish I were home; I probably would have just taken a nap. 😂
Guess I'll be taking the rest of the fruit home... to eat there. 😏

Unicorn essence
These are bottled in the UK. In the US, they are distributed by a company in Dallas, TX.
This one tastes as first, to me, mostly like an orange soda, but then I get peach, pineapple, and maybe a hint of mango.
I will note that this one and the wizard tears one have titanium dioxide as the last ingredient. The cauldron cola one has iron oxides instead, and caramel color, but both are higher up on the list. Generally, the "sugar free" sweeteners are acesulfame K (Sweet One) and sucralose. They are carbonated but only slightly.

Today, it's Cauldron Cola.
The A/C HVAC system is loud, even in the break areas. It sounds way louder in the video, though, for whatever reason.

Been drinking this today.

Probably should have made coffee instead.... 😔
It's tasty, though, and I like the edible glitter stuff that swirls around. I bought five of these at Central Market (H‑E‑B's higher end store chain) a few days ago. Each one is a different color and flavor, but each one has a Halloween theme and the edible glitter.
