ADMIN COMMENTS: ash, we loved seeing an app for a “victim” of helicopter parenting! it’s a super interesting take on our beloved ernie macmillan. you’ve clearly thought a lot about ernie’s backstory here  — from his childhood pet, paws, to his parents’ occupations within the ministry. also adding in a touch of insecurity to his personality was a nice touch! you really highlighted his hufflepuff traits throughout your application. we’re excited to see how ernie continues to cope with the grief war has brought onto him!

ADMIN COMMENTS:  laura!! when you first mentioned that you were applying for kingsley we were absolutely elated — and we fell head-first in love with your kingsley ( complicated, dirty cop, anti-hero and all ). we loved how you traced his loss of faith in the system, from his being a bright-eyed kid with a clear sense of right & wrong to a — well, a dirty cop. from the kingsley-isms, to the related headcanons, to the personality traits, you’ve created a beautiful picture of kingsley & we can’t wait to see more!

~MODERATOR~ COMMENTS: when i tell you i SCREAMED about vamp fred, i am actually kidding because i’m at a family function — but i squealed on the inside!! that is such an original take on how to retcon a death and i am absolutely in love. the weasley twins have always had a big piece of my heart and seeing fred be brought back to life? amazing. i love how much detail you put into his post-war life and the description of his return and reunion with his family ( molly smacking him on the head? relatable! ) i also love that you went into detail about the Consequences of his turning and i genuinely cannot wait to see how fred is adjusting to this new phase of his life ( or, well, is he adjusting? can’t wait to see! ) i absolutely love the concept of vampire!fred weasley i honestly, that's such a great concept. i love the voice that the app was written in it feels very fred to me because it made me laugh out loud multiple times. i can't wait to see him in the rp because i think he'll fit in so perfectly with the rest of the weasleys we have too

WELCOME CORMAC MCLAGGEN ( charles melton fc ) — PLAYED BY YAZZY!

~MODERATOR~ COMMENTS: i adore cormac, "cannot pass a reflective surface without looking at himself" and "thinks #yolo is very deep, actually" are just... my fave. so amazing, i think the characterisation of him is so so fun and on point, he's a lighthearted himbo, but he's more than that too and i love to see it. cormac has never been one of my favorite characters, since he was presented as somewhat of a “bad person” in canon. however, reading this application i fell in love with him. cormac gives meaning to the quote “ignorance is bliss” and i can only imagine how good it must have been to be oblivious to the darkness surrounding all of hogwarts during those years. also, i love the fact he is so lovable and also a little league coach — it was definitely unexpected given his cocky nature. also the parallel that quidditch is so important to him and he presents himself as someone so put together — but deep down he doesn’t know who he is? POETIC CINEMA!! i just love how fleshed out cormac is, with both qualities and weakness, dreams and fears. i am in love. basically: cormac, hmu

WELCOME LAVENDER BROWN ( sarah jeffery fc ) — PLAYED BY JANE!

ADMIN COMMENTS: your document layout alone was so much fun to see jane! the werewolf scratches, the fact that it’s set up like a diary — we loved seeing it so much. genuinely felt a bit of pain there for lavender, when i read the cancer sun, moon, AND rising. but i also enjoyed reading about her parents, the way they treated her magic, saw it as basically the same as meditation, it fits so much with everything else about her personality. and then of course, there’s the darker parts of lavender since the battle, which give me SO much interest to see her in action & blend with the rest of the group!

UPDATE REGARDING THE MAIN! ･ﾟ✷

HELLO EVERYONE! we are so eternally grateful for all the applications, questions & outpourings of love we’ve received on the main so far — but truth be told, it’s been a little hard for us admins to deal with alongside actual roleplay. we’ve made a few decisions regarding the main that we will outline here, but to put it simply, we’re going to take a little SIESTA for the time being, to actively enjoy the roleplay we’ve created.

as of right now we are NOT accepting applications from anyone outside of the current group, we are pushing thirty (!!!!!!) members, and would like to give everyone a little time to settle in, get comfortable, and not feel overwhelmed with new arrivals. it will not be permanent, and we will post a notice on here when we feel comfortable to reopen for those. 

for EXISTING MEMBERS, if you wish to send in an application, please message one of us privately and we will open up the submit box for you to drop it with us. once we’ve all read it and there are no other reservations, we’ll post our decisions.

we will also keep quiet on the main for a while regarding questions, we get a lot of the same ones and it’s been a little overwhelming to keep up with them all. we will open the ask box for a FEW HOURS on MOST IF NOT ALL DAYS, on which you can send us questions. there’s also of course still the q & a channel in our server & the confessions bot to say things anonymously, if it’s really urgent! 

apologies for everyone outside the group with interest, we really appreciate your excitement for our group, but for the reasons we described above, we need this time to actually allow ourselves to fully enjoy it too. thank you so much.

ADMIN COMMENTS: ahhh tyler! i know we've chatted on the main before about oliver, but my god, this was such a wonderful read! we love your characterization for oliver so much, it works well with what we know in canon, but also adds so more layers to what is, personally, my favorite quidditch player! the way he just jumped on a broom and wasted no time getting to the battle of hogwarts, prime gryffindor behavior right there. we cannot wait to see him in action

ADMIN COMMENTS: i am literally ECSTATIC to see the slytherin girl gang complete. it's something i've been begging for since before opening, and amelia — your millicent is just so wonderful. you put so much detail into this character and it makes me so happy to see that, it's what millie deserves! i think one of my favorite things was the personality section, her violent tendencies, the special skills, "being angry" as one of her likes... just extraordinary and i'm so happy that we get to have you for our millicent <3

ADMIN COMMENTS: birdy, you clearly have a profound talent for writing! we love the way you're able to make your words flow together and paint a really clear picture of what you're describing. we love how in depth you want with charlie's history as a dragonologist; we appreciate you going into detail regarding how he started as one, too! also... a volunteer at 12 grimmuald place? LOVE IT! we're glad to welcome you into our not-so-little family and can't wait to begin writing with a talented writer such as yourself!

what's the stance on the canon (or fanon) ships here? since these characters are all out of school now and we know where they end up in terms of marriage, will the players be carrying that out?

HI ANON !! we are semi - canon up until the deathly hallows epilogue, so most of the canon marriages have not happened yet. if the muns chose to go in that route, they’re welcome too -- but it’s not at all required by us. i hope this answers your question  !!

HI ANON !! apologies -- that’s on us, we should have put ted on the list of deaths that could be retconned. it’s there now, and i’ve attached the canons list to the source for easy access. i hope this answers your question !!
