I’m currently re-reading ACOSF in between the chaos that is my job (ya girl is finally working full-time in TV eek) and holy moly some of my head-canons are being SUPER validated by them words in that ere’ book. When I’m feeling less creatively burnt out I’m super excited to get back to work on Fireflies (if anyone wants to function as a Beta Reader to hold me more accountable for actually dedicating time to it let me know 😂). Apologies for being absent for so long, I’ve been in Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 for the last two months with no means of writing (and very little access to 3G/WiFi). I curse the day I decided to leave my laptop at home (*sigh*) - though it has given me a wonderful opportunity to refresh myself after a few hectic months of work. I’ve just this minute finished the 2nd Crescent City book, which has fully renewed my interest in Maas’ writings, and I can’t wait to go home next week and sit back down at my writing desk! Fireflies is a work I keep itching to return to and I desperately want to put time aside for it again once I’m home 🥰. Buzzing to get creative. Thanks again for all your support x

Fireflies is currently on a temporary hiatus because my job is just so time consuming at the moment - unfortunately I hardly get a minute to myself to do any writing! It was supposed to just be a summer season, but I’ve extended it by a couple of months. (The hours are shocking, the pay is terrible, but I’ve met some of the very best people 💙 - big love to everyone who has checked in on me over the last few weeks)

The full fic outline is still there, tucked safely away on my laptop, so it is still something I’m desperate to continue once I have the time to do so 😎. My last prediction had the fic at around 35-40 chapters in total.

Fireflies

Post-ACOSF. Gwynriel. WIP.

Current Word Count: 41,573

Synopsis: They were not stars at all, but fireflies. Hundreds of them. He watched as more and more winked into existence. Watched as, one by one, they drifted towards Gwyn, circling and pulsing to a melody all of their own. Gwyn stretched out her arms, eyes alight with wonder. A myriad of constellations formed and reformed with her at their centre.

It was the most beautiful thing Azriel had ever seen.

A/N: I have a full outline for this nestled happily on my computer - I’m predicting over forty chapters at this point, but we shall see! If you love Gwynriel, and slow-burn friends-to-soulmates lovers (and I really do mean slow-burn), then have a cheeky look over on AO3. I’ve tried to build the plot around feasible post-acosf headcanons (so expect Koschei, the Autumn Court, the Valkyries and the IC to feature heavily too).

hey hey, little update from me:

it turns out my summer job doesn’t actually give me any spare minutes, so alas no new chapter for Fireflies yet (the 2,500 words I currently have for Chapter 12 desperately need editing & expanding!!). Asks / lil prompt drabbles are much more within my capabilities atm so if you have any please do shoot them over ✨✨✨
