HE'S   NOT   SO   SURE   WHY   THE   DOCTOR   ALLOWS   HIM   TO   LINGER   IN   HIS   OFFICE   LIKE   THIS.   surely   having   someone   like   him   around   is   enough   to   taint   his   reputation   &   good   name.   no   one   needed   to   know   the   deal   fuches   had   arranged   in   order   to   allow   barry   to   keep   coming   here   to   be   treated   for   wounds.   his   mind   is   full   of   questions   ,   but   he   doesn't   seek   any   answers   ,   too   afraid   of   the   truth   &   also   perhaps   scared   of   the   possibility   that   frederick   will   finally   push   him   away.   the   life   he   lives   is   meant   to   be   a   solitary   one   ,   but   the   loneliness   he   constantly   carries   aches   in   his   chest   ,   desperate   for   human   contact   ━━   for   socialization.   even   if   it's   only   for   a   few   minutes   ,   speaking   with   the   doctor   is   enough   to   help   him   get   out   some   of   his   feelings   ,   realizing   the   irony   of   doing   such   a   thing   with   a   man   like   him   ,   who’s   walls   are   taller   than   his   own   stature.   today   ,   frederick's   comments   cut   right   to   the   point   &   barry's   already   tight   ,   thin   line   lips   curve   into   a   deep   frown   ,   laying   back   on   the   examination   table   as   if   it   were   a   couch   ,   hands   resting   on   his   chest.   ❝   yeah   .   .   .   i   know.   ❞   it's   true.   he   does   know   that   if   he   doesn't   leave   the   criminal   world   ,   it   will   only   mean   bad   things   on   the   horizon   ,   but   the   problem   was   actually   leaving.   it   sounds   great   ━━   sounds   amazing   actually   ,   but   in   practice   ?   it's   actually   really   fucking   hard.   ❝   fuches   said   it'll   be   a   few   months   until   we   don't   have   to   do   this   anymore.   ❞   he   sighs.   does   he   really   believe   that   ?   ❝   i   just   have   to   wait   it   out.   soon   i   .   .   .   i   can   be   done   &   then   move   on   with   my   life.   ❞   &   do   what   ?   he's   not   sure   about   that   part   yet   ,   but   he   only   hopes   he   can   find   another   purpose   soon.   he   has   to.
