Do you ever have times where your brain is sending you 20 things you should be doing right then and it’s to much and you just shut down? How do you deal with that?
Honestly, if I'm overwhelmed with things I need to do I either cry, sit paralyzed by all the stuff I need to do, or go somewhere cold.
Not necessarily saying you should do those or that they're helpful, aside from maybe the last one. Usually when I'm Stuck Due To Stuff and upset and aware enough to try and do anything about it I'll try to physically cool myself down.
I try to do this because I like cold, I get really warm when I'm upset, it's forcing my body to focus on a single sensation, and cause 99.99% of the time it means physically moving.
Honestly even when I'm not going somewhere cooler than where I was, not being in the same place as all/many of things I need to do helps me think about it more clearly. I'm not surrounded by the stuff.
It also helps me personally to pretend I'm a weary hero waging war against The Stuff, taking a brief breather before plunging once more into the fray. There is nothing stopping you from saying 'Once more unto the breach.'
If it works, it works

with adhd/autism it's funny like. people will call you weird all your life, people will bully you for your "outlandish" behaviour, people will criticize literally everything you do as "not normal", BUT THE SECOND YOU GET DIAGNOSED (or suggest you might have it) they're like "huh what but you're so normal, you're literally the most normal person I've ever seen, you're literally so normal and absolutely nothing is wrong with you? why would you have that now all of a sudden???"

one of the most baffling parts of adhd is the food thing. you know the thing i'm talking about. like it is 8:30pm on a friday night, i had to work late and i know i really need to eat dinner but i don't actively feel my hunger right now and i can't think of anything i would enjoy consuming or that i have the energy to prepare but i'm also fully aware i'm gonna feel like shit if i don't eat dinner

so im self dxed with adhd, but i never have hyperfixations i can infodump about because information doesn't stick with me. i only remember like two things, at most. am i wrong for thinking i have adhd?
I am not a medical professional, and I can only speak to my experience with ADHD.
If the things people say about having ADHD and living with it really resonance with you and make you feel like 'yes! That!' then I'd say possibly?
I'm not you though, so I've only got this info and nothing else
Something to think about for yourself if you don't want to or can't get to a doctor to check

WAIT ITS NORMAL TO BE EXHAUSTED WHEN YOU COME OUT OF AN HYPERFOCUS?
I don't go into hyperfocus very often (in fact I can only recall one time that was definitely a hyperfocus) but several hours passing while being super engaged in something, with all of your brain energy devoted to that thing for that time? Probably, yeah
All things like hunger, thirst, bladder, back aching from the position you're in all get put on the back burner. All the 'oh shit I'm hungry thirsty tired I've been awake for longer that I shouldve been' hitting you at once? Bruh

my body has resorted to making my neck up through my right ear hurt to tell me im hungry, its not my fault we dont have anything readymade! dad wont let me buy adult lunchables cause its "a waste" and "you can make that from what we have" THATS NOT TJE POINT ANDHEHBFHGGFGRGRGFGRG
When my body has trouble getting the 'Hungry: do something about that' across to the brain it decides to make my stomach cold. Not the skin above the stomach, the organ. Like someone put some ice in there
And yeah! Making stuff can be hard sometimes (or a lot of the time) so if I'm making food I usually either do fast-easy-to-make stuff like a quesadilla but usually I just snack throughout the day on cheese and meat sticks and apple sauce squeeze packets
BUT if I've got the energy and focus to cook something not immediately edible I'll make a bigass batch of curry and rice

Adhd culture is using something like needing to use the bathroom as a way to force yourself to do something. Ex, “I can't go to the bathroom until I do the dishwasher.”
Effective? Yes. A dangerous game to play? Also yes.
I do something kind of similar? But less 'holding my bladder hostage' and more 'we are racing time and we are going to win. We need to clean as much of this as we can before this fast paced song ends-GO!'
And then it's easier for me to stay on the task I'm doing cause I'm already doing it
All Hail the Cleaning Playlist

GI issues are a common comorbid with ADHD and autism.
There isn't a proper consensus as to the why, and correlation isn't causation, but yea, a lot of people with ADHD and/ or autism have GI issues.
The gut is often referred to as our second brain, and there are studies on our gut microbiomes being different to NTs.
The studies are mostly on children, and it's not fully known the why. And I think there's more studies on correlation with autism, but again, we don't know the whole story.
.
Its untrue that stuff like food colouring or gluten 'causes' or worsens ADHD btw.
Some people have had their symptoms improve after taking these out of their diets, but as I said above, comorbid GI issues can be quite common so it's more that their comorbid symptoms got better.
Though, a healthy diet can help improve our health in general yea.
I've started to take multivitamins and minerals cause I don't have the healthiest diet cause cooking and eating is hard with ADHD!

ADHD makes a lot of day to day tasks very difficult, including preparing and eating food yea.
First of all, we can struggle to realize we are feeling hungry. Used to happen to me a lot when younger.
Secondly, cooking can be very hard with executive dysfunction. Multiple steps and having to pay constant attention to the pots and pans can be hard.
And that's if you have the spoons for it.
Thirdly, we can get bored/ can be sensitive to specific tastes and textures. This makes finding and eating food hard.
Fourthly, stimulants can suppress ones appetite, so it can be harder to eat when on meds. Its not uncommon to lose weight.
.
When I moved out for uni, I lost like 15 kilos. I would eat a sandwich a day sometimes and for a 6 month stretch, I hate a loaf of garlic bread for dinner.
It took me a while to get into the swings of this. I found that I really love the taste of chili so I learnt to make a big batch and have that for whatever meal.
I can have it with rice, pasta, in a wrap, etc etc.
And it's nice cause I look forward to eating it. Like I legitimately made a pot 2 days ago, and I keep wanting to eat cause I love the taste.
And to avoid getting bored, I change it up. Add different vegetables and stuff.
Here's my chili recipe. I wrote it for myself, so it's simple to follow.
.
If anyone has any other tips, please share!

Man when I was growing up and dealing with my undiagnosed, unmedicated ADHD and having the worst time, my parents would say, “If you can’t do this now, how are you going to handle being an adult?” all. the. fucking. time.
But all of my problems are actually so fixable.
My mom is out of town and asked me to take out her trash. I forgot. And when I remembered I had two seconds of freaking out before I put together a plan: I got two big plastic boxes, loaded her trash into the trunk of my car, and threw it out in my apartment complex’s dumpster. The only bad thing that happened is I had a small leak into one of the boxes, and I’ve already got that soaking with bleach in my tub. FIXING my terrible ADHD mistake took less effort than doing it properly and you are the only people who will know.
But nooooo when I was a kid it was always ~do it right the first time exactly how we expect or it can’t be done at all~. No fucking wonder I’m a mess of an adult now.

ADHD culture is reading something that you need to write down and immediately forgetting what it was by the time you look down at the paper
I'm lucky in that my dad is a doctor so I've got access to surgical markers. Made to write on skin and a noticable color (the ones I've seen are all purple). I've taken to carrying one around in my bag or car for emergency notes
