A drawing of Eirian and he companion, A pooka. Which is a mythological creature/shapeshifter from Celtic lore. I based the design sort of after a lemur. But with long ears, like a lot of pooka are depicted. I havent given the pooka a name yet.

About a year ago I made some sketches of a little girl. The big one in the middle. I thought she was cute, so I made more. Eventually I gave her a name, Eirian. Then I started to came up with an idea for a story for her, about a brave little girl who could save her town from monsters that adults couldnt see. I may one day write that story.

Going along with yesterday’s post, this was my second vector realism attempt. This took longer because there were a considerable more amount of fiddly elements. But in the end I really like this one too. Also done in inkscape.  This is the laptop i currently do all my work on. ;)

I have been doing some simple vector work for a while, and I started thinking, I wonder how realistic I can manage to do at my skill level. I wanted some vector work to put into my portfolio. Much to my own surprise, it came out really well. Made in Inkscape.

/Rant

I need to rant for a second, and as I dont have really any where else to rant, here it shall be. Many artists use stock for references, be it for structure or poses, or details, etc. I often use stock references for poses, because my brain isn’t always on point for poses. But JHFC, What has come of the internet? Google sucks, often shows far too irreverent results. Its gotten worse. Pinterest used to be semi reliable, but for the most part still shows far too much garbage. I used to be able to use DA to find stock, But ever since they implemented just tags and did away with categories, you cant find squat. You find way less than squat. If DA wasnt bad enough, with some of the stuff shoved in your face, they’ve gone and reduced its usefulness to like...  negative one million.  Complete utter, useless garbage. /end rant That being said, Anyone know where to find a good organized space for pose reference these days? Or am i going to have to bust out daz every time i run into a tricky area and hope that the models dont get deformed too badly as i pose them?

I finally decided to just finish it. As we, who are unsatisfied with Biowares official turian concept, tend to do... I wanted to conceptualize how i thought turian plates might look.
