Cecil is wildly bored anyway, so Malcolm sitting down with him is a more than welcome interruption to halfheartedly working at his homework. But if he wants to get into college, he needs to get his act together. Not that that matters in the slightest when Malcolm looks at him. His brows go up, and he laughs.
“From the heavens?” he repeats. “I didn’t realize that’s where I was– oh, it’s because I’m tall. I got you.” He makes a clicking sound with his tongue. “You’re very funny, has anyone ever told you that?” He definitely has. But still.
He drops down and rests his head on Malcolm’s lap, looking up at him. “I don’t think I’ve had to physically look up to anyone in my life.” He uses his fingers to frame Malcolm’s face, squinting. “It’s a good angle for you.”
"I'm hilarious! That's a well-known fact. Well, to you." His smile grows, the corners of his lips lifting higher. He could count on one hand the number of people who have called him funny, if he was being honest, but he hardly minded. After he's got Cecil's head on his lap, his fingers find their way into his hair and gently brush through. There's a laugh as he watches the other boy look up at him and frame him.
"Is it really?" His index finger twirls, a strand of hair wrapping around the digit before unwinding. "I'm liking this angle for you, too. I can really see everything, now that clouds aren’t blocking the view." His head cants to the side just a fraction. It's a very nice everything. The thought makes his heart pick up the pace for a moment, but his eyes keep scanning over Cecil's features.
"Oh, I wanted to ask what I managed to tear you away from. Anything terribly important?"
