Day 7 - AU

Oh. He never finished the message he started last night. Taps the draft to pull up his conversation with Qrow.

Remember to stretch, old man.

But maybe not in those pants, surprised you didn’t split a seam running in them.

That was what he had returned from the bath to see last night. It made him laugh, feel better, to have something else to focus on. Something soft and teasing, downright affectionate in its own way. Infectious. Chasing out darker thoughts to take their place and let him catch his breath. Relax. Apparently enough for sleep to claim him without much of a fight, if his half written reply full of typos is anything to go by. He deletes it and begins to type out something new.

FGW 2024 day 7: AU

Work kicked my butt this week, so like I said in my last post, I didn't get to reading stuff like I'd hoped. But reading and commenting is coming guys. So proud to at least have gotten to be a small part of another FGW. It's such a special event and everyone is so so amazing and kind and talented!!!! <3

So this week really got away from me both writing and reading wise, so I've still got a bunch of catching up to do. But I did want to still boost my huge Loving Anyway chapter from a few years ago it since missed ever being a part of an FGW.

(ignore it not being day 6 anymore, I was at work from 9am-8pm yesterday and then forgot until now to post...oops.)

But yeah, FGW 2024 day 6: Confessions.

Day 4 - Weapons | Hands

“You’re distracted.”

A whisper in his ear. He shivers. Had he any fight in him, he might reply in kind. Ask who’s fault that may be.

As he is, Clover would see through it in a heartbeat.

“Maybe,” Qrow says, testing his voice. He draws a shuddered breath, an extra moment granted to pluck out the words he needs, and leans further against the warm body at his back. He swallows hard. “Maybe you could… give me a reason to be distracted.”

“Well, that's another day done,” the huntsman said as thumbs tucked themselves into belt loops. “Think we've earned that cold drink by now?”

Clover could only offer a gentle laugh in response as the two of them headed further down the street towards their lodgings.

“Think we've both earned that shower by now,” he countered easily, lightly airing his shirt out for effect. “Don't think I was prepared for the humidity today.”

Qrow snorted softly, eyes tracing the treeline in the distance. “You'll get used to it eventually.”
