Chicago Fire Season 1 Ep. 3 "Professional Courtesy"
Tumblr media
Casey is under pressure to cover for a police officer's son, who caused a drunken-driving accident that left a teenager paralyzed. Meanwhile, Severide is ignoring his doctor's advice that his neck injury may never heal if he doesn't seek treatment. Mills is faced with a choice between working full-time at the fire department or helping his mother with her restaurant.
If you want to watch the series for yourself, stop reading! This post contains spoilers to the storyline.
The guys think they're about to get away with a full shift with no calls. Then a call comes in for a car accident. When they arrive, a van has flipped over and is on the edge of a bridge. A young boy and father are inside. The other car involved has gotten off relatively easy. It's clear the driver is the cause of the accident. Casey notes alcohol on the driver's breath and open containers in his car. The policeman on the scene agrees to book the driver.
Tumblr media
But when Casey returns, the man responsible is nowhere to be found. The driver is the son of Detective Voight, a cop with a lot of clout in Chicago. A man like Voight would make sure his son doesn't get mixed up in this kind of mess.
The guys have a problem at the station: their TV is broken, and the Bears game is this Sunday. Peter Mills suggests they set up a T-shirt stand. With Nicki manning it, it'll be a success. Peter gets a moment of validation from the guys for his winning idea. Plus, Peter and Dawson are flirting in the bathroom.
Tumblr media
Casey asks Dawson for help. He wants her brother, who is a police officer, to talk to Voight. Casey explains his problem with Voight. At the sound of his name, Dawson's brother cringes. Voight is a dirty cop. He's been involved with the gangs for 15 years.
Hallie visits Casey at the hospital with bad news. The boy in the car crash is paralyzed. This makes it harder for Casey to decide what to do. Later, a new TV donation arrives at the station. The TV problem is solved but Casey wants the TV returned and won't explain why.
Tumblr media
At another accident scene, Severide gets a shaky hand in a compromising moment. Shay notices and thinks Severide is ignoring a serious issue with his arm. She forces him to see a doctor friend of hers. Severide has a small fracture in his spine. He's lucky he can feel pain, but there's a surgery that can take pressure off the nerve. Severide's resistant; this could put him out of work for years. Without the surgery, he can expect his motor skills to deteriorate.
The father of the paralyzed victim visits with baked goods to thank the men for their hard work. But he has ulterior motives for visiting. Something was wrong with the police report. It claimed he ran a red light and was the cause of the accident, but he knows that wasn't true. Seeing this poor man in his fragile state, Casey feels guilty and comes to Boden with his altered account of what happened that day. Boden supports him, shaking his hand and saying, "Leaders lead from the front."
Nicki wants Severide, and she's not going to give up. He finally meets her in the supply closet for a steamy hookup. Her father catches them. He later shows up at Severide's apartment and tells him that they need to stop seeing each other because Nicki's engaged. Severide gets the message.
Tumblr media
Detective Voight finds Casey and suggests they go get a drink. Voight explains the situation to Casey. His son is a good kid, but he's gotten into trouble. If he's charged with DUI, he'll go to jail. Why ruin two lives instead of just one? When Casey won't back down, Voight threatens him. Boden arrives to back Casey up, and Voight leaves.
Tumblr media
The guys raise over 300 dollars to buy a new TV. Casey suggests they use the money to build a wheelchair-accessible ramp for the victim's house. Later, Casey talks to Dawson about telling the truth about Voight's son. Dawson says she knows she wouldn't be able to look Casey in the eye if she hadn't told the truth. That's all the validation she needs.

Chicago Fire Season 1 Ep. 2 "Mon Amour"
Tumblr media
Severide is hiding a serious shoulder injury from the fire that killed Andy Darden. He grapples with guilt as he fights to rescue a construction worker trapped in a building collapse. Darden's wife Heather blames Severide for her husband's death at the annual firefighter's barbecue. At Hancock Tower, a call is made to an accident site where two teenagers are pinned in a vehicle beneath the falling debris of a broken window washer's cart. Casey and his fiancée Hallie work together to figure out their future.
If you want to watch the series for yourself, stop reading! This post contains spoilers to the storyline.
Severide runs into Heather and the kids at the local cafe while grabbing a cup of coffee. He is genuinely excited to see them, but Heather is not. Kelly tells her that he has been meaning to come by, but Heather stops him, fire in her eyes. She claims that Andy would have never become a firefighter if he had not known Severide.
The squad is called to extinguish a small kitchen fire, which they do within seconds. Severide becomes infuriated when he sees Mills with one hand on the ladder, shouting, "Men die when they relax!" He then goes to Leslie, who hands him another mysterious medicine vial, the last one.
Tumblr media
The Firefighters at the firehouse are eagerly anticipating the annual barbecue. Severide attempts to avoid the event upon learning that the Dardens will be in attendance by taking an extra shift, but the Chief denies his request. Herrmann, who has returned from the hospital, enters the firehouse with a limp and informs the group that he may never walk straight again. After exchanging concerned looks, Herrmann surprises everyone by hopping up and doing a little jig, revealing that he was only joking.
Tumblr media
The Chief introduces Nicki Rutkowski, who will be assisting with the payroll. As she steps in, eyes widen; she is stunning with long limbs and mysterious smiles. Nicki is the daughter of an old friend, and the Chief expects everyone to treat her like family. However, there is already some tension between her and Severide.
The squad is called to a site where three men are trapped under a collapsed building foundation. Two of the men are badly injured but saved by the squad. However, an older man named Peter is trapped beneath the boulder. Despite the unstable structure, an over-eager Severide climbs down to where Peter is. Peter is in terrible pain, but he talks to Severide and asks him to be completely honest about his condition. Severide informs him that he is likely bleeding internally and the situation is dire. Dawson examines him and determines that in order to have any chance of survival, Peter's leg must be amputated.
Tumblr media
Severide and Peter converse amicably while waiting for the trauma surgeon to arrive, attempting to lighten the mood. Peter advises Severide to marry soon and shares stories about his wife Georgie, the love of his life. As the time passes, Peter requests that Severide take care of his leg so he can go home. Casey warns Severide that they need to evacuate as the structure may collapse, but Severide insists on obtaining a saw and keeping Peter engaged in conversation.
The trauma surgeon arrived, but Severide crawled out of the hole and informed them that it was now a recovery mission. As he walked away from the scene, he glanced down at his black gloves, which were covered in blood.
Tumblr media
At the firehouse, Herrmann and his family surprised Shay and Dawson with a homemade sign to thank them for saving their father's life. Meanwhile, Severide watched on, distressed that he couldn't save Peter.
Later, the crew attended a meeting to discuss the mistakes made during Darden's death, hoping to prevent future tragedies. Severide couldn't bear to be there and escaped to the bathroom stall to inject the mysterious medicine into his arm.
Heather drives to Casey's house later that day to discuss the upcoming barbecue.
They decide to go together. Shay and Dawson deal with an inebriated man causing trouble in an Irish bar. They loaded him up, and he rudely grabs Dawson's behind with his bare hands, causing her to react. As they treat him in the ambulance, Shay mentions rumours about Casey and Hallie's reported split. Dawson becomes excited at the news.
At the barbecue, everyone is dressed casually except for Mills, who shows up in full uniform. He is still being teased by the others. Casey, Dawson, and Shay sit at a table with their partners, getting to know each other. Dawson informs the group that she has been taking medical school classes. Hallie kindly offers Dawson the opportunity to shadow her at the hospital for additional experience whenever she desires. Dawson appreciates the gesture but is also secretly frustrated that the fiancée of a man she has feelings for is a genuinely nice person.
Tumblr media
Heather Darden arrives with the boys. Casey immediately scoops them up, ensuring they feel comfortable playing with the other kids. Hallie watches, touched by how well Casey interacts with them. Nicki introduces herself to Severide by the beer cooler, making it clear that she's interested.
Meanwhile, Casey strikes up a conversation with Dawson, asking her about her date. Hallie watches from across the field, concern wavering across her face. She senses a connection between them, even if it's unspoken.
Tumblr media
After the barbecue, Nicki arrives at Severide's apartment with his jacket. She returns it and tries to kiss him, being forward. Severide is amused but declines, saying that he wants to watch the Cubs game. Nicki walks away down the hall, disappointed but not defeated.
At Severide and Shay's apartment, Shay mentions Heather Darden, but Severide refuses to discuss her. Lately, he has been making enigmatic phone calls, leaving voice messages for an unknown person to call back. The squad is called in for another emergency: rescuing two young women trapped under a window washer's cart that blew off 40 floors up and crashed onto a parked car due to high winds. Julie is trapped in her seat after the accident. The firefighters are racing against time to rescue her, as debris from the cart continues to fall onto the sidwalk. Severide is using a saw to open the car door while the cart above swings in the wind, suspended by a single rope. The crew rescue Julie in time. Severide returns a call and promises to meet the caller at the agreed-upon time.
Tumblr media
Later that day, Casey visits Hallie at work and asks to start fresh. He wants to put their issues about children, work, and life aside. All he wants is to be with her. He slips the engagement ring back on her finger, and they embraces with full hearts. That night, they join the crew at a bar where everyone relax and share rounds of shots. Dawson briefly looks at Casey's arm around Hallie. Hallie inquires if Dawson considers doing rounds with her at the hospital, stating that Dawson has more experience than many of the Ivy League students attempting to become doctors.
Tumblr media
Severide walks up the steps to a suburban house on a dimly lit street, holding his phone. Suddenly, a video of Peter, the deceased man from the building accident, plays on the phone. The video is addressed to Georgie and is a goodbye message. Georgie watches the video on Severide's phone while he sits beside her on the couch. In the video, Peter tells Georgie that Severide is the kind of son they always wanted to have, but never did. Georgie looks over at him with tears streaming down her face, and Severide returns her glance, his dark eyes red-rimmed. The video ends with Georgie embracing him, thankful for having heard her love's final words. The camera lingers on Severide's face, his eyes bearing the weight of the world, all the things he cannot say out loud.

AI Write: "BTS: A Global Phenomenon Redefining Pop Culture"
I asked Copilot (Microsoft's AI) what it would write about "BTS". And here is the essay from Copilot.
The Rise of BTS
BTS's ascent to stardom is a narrative of perseverance and innovation. Debuting in 2013 with "2 Cool 4 Skool", they initially garnered attention with their raw and relatable lyrics about the challenges faced by youth. Their breakthrough came with the "The Most Beautiful Moment in Life" series, which saw them tackle complex themes of mental health, societal pressures, and the journey towards self-acceptance. This era not only solidified their popularity in South Korea but also marked the beginning of their international breakthrough, leading to their first Billboard 200 entry with "Wings" in 2016.
Musical Innovation and Artistry
BTS's artistry is characterized by their willingness to experiment with diverse musical styles and to incorporate meaningful and often introspective lyrics into their songs. They have been involved in the writing and production of their music since debut, with members like RM, Suga, and J-Hope contributing to the composition and lyrical content. Their discography spans a range of genres, from the hip-hop-heavy "No More Dream" to the introspective "Spring Day", and the uplifting pop sound of "Dynamite". Their music videos and performances are integral to their artistry, often featuring intricate choreography and cinematic storytelling.
Cultural Impact and Social Engagement
BTS's influence extends beyond the music to significant social engagement. Their commitment to learning and using different languages - English, Japanese, Spanish and more - has endeared them to fans globally. Whether addressing fans during interviews or interacting with international audiences at concerts, BTS demonstrates their respect for diverse cultures. They've become cultural ambassadors, bridging gaps and fostering understanding through language.
In addition to their linguistic efforts, BTS's philanthropic endeavors exemplify their social responsibility. Beyond the "Love Myself" campaign, they've actively donated to disaster relief efforts, educational programs, and COVID-19 relief funds. Their actions inspire fans to participate in social causes, emphasizing the importance of giving back. BTS's impact transcends entertainment; it's force for positive change in the world.
Global Recognition and Achievements
BTS's achievements on the global stage are numerous and continue to grow. They have been recognized as IFPI's Global Recording Artist of the Year, a testament to their worldwide popularity and impact on the music industry. Their record-breaking single "Dynamite" topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart, marking a significant milestone for Korean artists on the international charts. Their philanthropic efforts are also notable, with their "Love Myself" campaign raising over $3.6 million to help end violence against children. BTS's ability to inspire and connect with fans across the globe is unparalleled, and their contributions to music and society will be remembered for years to come.
ARMY: The Fervent Fandom of BTS
ARMY, an acronym for "Adorable Representative M.C. for Youth", is more than just a fandom; it's a global community bound by a shared love for BTS and their values. Established on July 9, 2013, ARMY has played a pivotal role in BTS's success. The colour purple, symbolizing love and trust, has become synonymous with the fandom, thanks to V's phrase "I purple you".
Over the years, ARMY has grown exponentially, not just in numbers but also in diversity. The fanbase now includes a wide age range, with a significant portion over the age of 18, and the largest cohort being between 18 - 29 years old. Social media data reflects this expansion, with close to 2 billion mentions of BTS over a decade, and an average of 547,945 mentions daily. This growth is a testament to BTS's global appeal and the universal messages in their music.
ARMYs are known for their organized efforts to support BTS's music releases, charitable endeavors, and scoial campaigns. They have a significant presence on social media, where they mobilize to stream music, vote for awards, and raise awareness of BTS's projects. The relationship between BTS and ARMY is reciprocal; BTS often credits ARMY with their success and regularly engages with them through social media and fan events.
The BTS fandom is a hub of creativity. Fans express their love through intricate fan art, imaginative fan fiction, and original content. From digital illustrations capturing the members' essence to fictional stories that explore alternate universes, ARMYs pour their hearts into their creations. BTS actively encourages fan creativity, whether it's through official fan art contests or acknowledging fan projects during concerts and interviews. This fostering of artistic expression creates a supportive community where fans inspire each other and celebrate their shared passion for BTS.
Conclusion
The narrative of BTS and their devoted fandom, ARMY, is a modern epic of music, culture, and community. From their humble beginnings to becoming global icons, BTS has charted a course that many artists only dream of. Their music transcends language and cultural barriers, speaking to universal themes of love, hope, and self-discovery. The growth of ARMY is a reflection of this universal appeal, with fans from all walks of life finding solace and inspiration in BTS’s message.
ARMY’s evolution mirrors the band’s own journey—starting as a small group of supporters and expanding into a vast, diverse community. Their collective efforts in art, philanthropy, and social engagement have created a positive impact that extends far beyond the music industry. BTS and ARMY together have set a new standard for what it means to be artists and fans in the 21st century—a standard that is as much about charting hits as it is about fostering genuine connections and making a difference in the world.
As BTS continues to break new ground and ARMY grows ever larger and more vibrant, one thing remains clear: the bond between them is unbreakable, fueled by mutual respect and a shared vision for a better world. Their story is ongoing, and the legacy they are creating will resonate for generations to come.

Chicago Fire Season 1 Ep. 1 "Pilot"
Tumblr media
After the tragic loss of one of their own, the men and women of Firehouse 51 are trying to recuperate. It has been a month, and Lieutenants Matthew Casey and Kelly Severide are still at odds over Andy Darden's death. However, they must put their differences aside when their colleague Christopher Herrmann's life is at risk. Paramedic Gabriela Dawson is facing disciplinary action for performing a risky procedure in the field to save a girl. Peter Mills arrives at Firehouse 51 for his first day as a Firefighter / EMT Candidate. Casey attempts to resolve his relationship wit hhis fiancée, Hallie.
If you want to watch the series for yourself, stop reading! This post contains spoilers to the storyline.
Two fire trucks are racing towards a scene on the grey streets of Chicago, Illinois on a drab afternoon. The mood inside the trucks is determined but light, and the crew jokingly jabs at one another as the driver speeds down the road. Upon arrival, they discover that a victim is still trapped in the attic. Head of the rescue squad, Lieutenant Kelly Severide, enters first with confidence and fearlessness. Lieutenant Matthew Casey and Andy Darden climb up the ladder. Darde breaks in a window without instruction, but Casey realizes the conditions are still unstable. Casey yells at Darden to stay out, but Darden is already inside.
Meanwhile, downstairs, Severide realizes there's no vent. Thick black smoke gets sucked upstairs, indicating an imminent explosion. Severide hollers for everyone to get down., but it's too late. Trapped, Darden perishes, engulfed in flames as Casey watches helplessly from the ladder.
Tumblr media
A month has passed. The entire firehouse is grieving the loss of one of their own. Casey and Severide, who were once close friends, are now experiencing a painful rift due to the death of their mutual friend. Chief Wallace Boden notices the tension and calls them both in to discuss the unnecessary animosity between the leaders. At the firehouse, a new candidate named Peter Mills replaces Darden. Firefighter Cruz gives Mills a quick tour.
In Chicago, paramedics Leslie Shay and Gabriela Dawson respond to a shooting that took place during a drug deal. While treating one gunshot victim, the other injured person emerges from the closet, armed and dangerous. Gabriela handles the situation assertively and persuades him to drop his weapon. Although fear is evident in her eyes, it is apparent that she has dealt with similar life-or-death situations before.
Tumblr media
Peter is already on babysitting duty at the firehouse, lecturing a group of kids visiting the station. He explains that this firehouse is special because it has both truck guys and a rescue squad. He proudly explains that the rescue squad is versatile and can handle any situation, including water rescue and extraction. Mills hopes to follow in his father's footsteps one day and join them. An alarm sounds and the firehouse is a flurry of activity as the firefighters put on their gear and load the truck quickly but calmly.
They race towards a bridge where a mother and daughter are trapped in a car after a collision. All actions are carried out in a logical sequence. The scene is intense, and the two are responsive but severely injured. Gabriela assesses the victims while the firefighters remove the doors from the car. Mouch notices a bent windshield and believes that the driver was ejected into the water. The squad immediately sends down two divers. While shadowing Mouch, Mills notices a suit jacket in the car. He surveys the crowd observing the scene and notices that everyone is bundled up except for one anxious-looking businessman. Trusting his instincts, Mills tackles the man, suspecting him to be the driver.
Tumblr media
Tension escalates at the firehouse over a mistake made at the scene. The truck and squad are at odds until Chief Boden intervenes, scolding the men for their behaviour. He reminds the team that it has been almost a month since Darden's tragic death and that they need to move past this together. Moments later, Darden's wife Heather arrives, and Casey hands her Darden's belongings, which were cleaned out from his locker earlier that day. Fourteen years of memories collected in a single box. She has two children in the back seat and is struggling to hold it together.
Leslie meets Severide in the hallway and hands him a vial. Severide locks himself in a bathroom stall and injects the medicine into his right arm, which was cramping.
Tumblr media
Casey runs into Gabriela outside the firehouse. She invites him to a bar the next night, but he declines, saying he has a date night planned with his girlfriend, though he seems a little wary about it. The scene cuts to Herrmann's house. He and his family are packed up in their van, ready to move back in with their in-laws. Their house is in foreclosure.
Casey is biting into a piece of old pizza when Hallie, his girlfriend, arrives at his apartment with fresh food. After some awkward small talk, Hallie places an engagement ring on the empty counter. We learn that Casey has moved out, and their engagement has ended because he wants to start a family, while Hallie, who is a full-time hospital resident, is not ready for one. They are stuck in the worst kind of relationship limbo. Neither of them wants the same thing, but neither of them can bear to move on.
Tumblr media
The crew at the firehouse is pressuring Mills to hit on Shay, unaware that she is gay. Meanwhile, the Chief calls in Leslie and Gabriela to question them about a young girl they encountered during a recent emergency. Gabriela had to perform emergency surgery on the girl and inserted a needle into her heart to save her life. However, this has put Gabiela's job at risk. Casey decides to cook Sunday night dinner for the crew. However, Severide refuses to eat his food and makes a show of it. Casey confronts him outside, and Severide expresses his anger about Casey allowing Darden to enter the scene before it was ready. The sadness and guilt about their friend's death trap both men in a cycle of blame.
At night, some of the truck crew go to the local gym to watch police officers fight each other. This is a regular fight club event, and Chief Boden is fighting a police chief who apparently slept with his ex-wife. The rest of the crew is spread out across the firehouse, listening to Otis's account on the walkie-talkies. However, another fire alarm interrupts them, and the crew quickly rushes off to a house fire down the street.
The fire in the apartment building is intense. Casey is shouting out directions. Casey and Herrmann are searching all the floors for people who are still trapped in the building. Cruz and Mills are doing the same on the roof. The Chief arrives on the scene and warns Casey that they need to leave as black smoke starts billowing out of the windows. Casey and Herrmann are on their way when the brittle floor collapses, sending them tumbling down to the basement.
Tumblr media
Upon arrival, the squad find Casey and Herrmann unresponsive. Severide is lowered into the basement and successfully wakes up Casey, but Herrmann is struggling to breathe. They manage to safely evacuate Herrmann from the building. However, Casey and Severide remain trapped downstairs with the flames closing in. Casey is able to reach a higher floor and grab onto Severide, but the two begin to slip. Casey appears unable to hold both his own weight and Severide's. However, Mouch suddenly appears and grabs Casey's feet, assisting in their safe ascent.
Gabriela and Leslie are outside working on Herrmann, who is badly hurt. He is sent to the hospital with a possible tension pneumothorax, but the rest of the crew has made it out safely.
Tumblr media
The next morning, Gabriela receives a call from her lawyer informing her of an upcoming trial regarding the emergency surgery she performed on a young patient. Despite the patient being stable and soon to be released from the hospital, Gabriela is facing legal action.
The crew gathers in the hospital waiting room, anxiously awaiting news on Herrmann's condition. Casey steps outside, looking weathered and exhausted from the day's work. He calls Hallie and asks her to come over. Despite their issues, she is still his primary source of comfort.

Chicago Justice Season 1 Ep. 13 "Tycoon" (Series Finale)
Tumblr media
The State's Attorney's office is investigating a deadly crane accident that destroyed half a building and killed a man in his car below. Nagel becomes suspicious when she discovers that the victim was the son-in-law of a powerful real estate developer who owns the collapsed building.
If you want to watch the series for yourself, stop reading! This post contains spoilers to the storyline.
Antonio Dawson is receiving a text message and rushes to a construction site where a crane has crashed into a building and onto a car. CFD and CPD are already on the scene. Detective Erin Lindsay informs Antonio that there are four injured people, and Evan Wheeler, who is Frank Linden's son-in-law and in charge of the project, has died.
Laura Nagel and Antonio arrive at Chicago Med to see John Benzinger, the crane operator. They ask him how much he had to drink the previous night, and he tells them he had two beers. Laura inquires about why he was transferred to Riverfront, but Benzinger's wife becomes defensive and tells them to leave.
Tumblr media
Frank Linden arrives at Mark Jefferies' office immediately after receiving the news. Anna Valdez and Peter Stone are already there. Jefferies asks how they can assist. Brett Linden informs them that the crane operator had tested positive for cocaine and had previously been written up for being drunk on the job. Stone is surprised and asks how Brett knew that. Frank states that his son attended law school with Evan and was like a son to him. He asks Evan to take care of the matter while he takes care of Evan's widow, Sarah Tollin. When Stone asks a question that neither Brett nor Frank answers, Jefferies assigns Stone to lead the investigation.
Stone visits Emma, who is busy cleaning up her daughter Annaleigh's toys. He expresses his condolences and inquires about Evan's presence at the site. He confirms that she works for her father as well. He asks if she recalls anything else about the crash besides speaking to him on the phone during the incident. Their conversation is interrupted by her daughter, who is quickly sent away with the nanny. Emma has not yet informed her daughter of Evan's passing.
Chicago Fire's Chief Wallace Boden walks through the crash site with Antonio and Laura, explaining the sequence of events. He confirms that the bull pin was tampered with, making it brittle enough to break. It appears that someone wanted the crane to collapse.
Antonio tells Anna the results of the test they did on Benzinger's thermos. He shares that the cocaine was too pure for him to have obtained it on the streets of Chicago. It appears that someone drugged his thermos, knowing his work history. They meet with Laura, who confirms that the crane was still working properly when the site closed at 8 pm. They believe there was an hour gap for someone to damage the pin. They find a car leaving the site but cannot see the license plate.
Anna visits Frank, who boasts about legacy and how it cannot be built by pushing paper. Frank's son, Brett, appears disturbed by his words. Brett seems to be hiding something. Anna informs them that the crane operator is not being charged with murder and is there to investigate if they have any enemies. Frank provides her with the name of Jim Florence and assures her that Brett will provide her with whatever she needs. He explains that it all began with threatening emails and then Florence arrived with a 9mm.
Anna meets with Florence. Florence tells Anna that Frank Linden uses people's weaknesses against them. Frank's workers are undocumented, which causes Frank to offer him $90,000 for a $2 million job. He swears that the crane deal wasn't him. Truthfully, Frank is the only one left building in Chicago. He says that when the riverfront fell, he is certain Frank came out ahead, as he always does.
Tumblr media
Anna visits Stone's office and reveals that Frank Linden has declared bankruptcy five times, yet he has profited while everyone else has suffered. She discovers insurance on the riverfront but cannot access it without a warrant, as all of Linden's information is on a private server. Stone attempts to obtain a warrant, but the judge requires more evidence before signing it. Antonio suggests hacking into the server, but Stone orders him not to.
They discuss how Danny Borelli, a good man, father, and firefighter, died in a building that was a deathtrap due to safety violations. The building was owned by Frank Linden. Antonio promises not to ignore this issue. He discovers that Frank contacted mobster Henry Tomczak six times in the last 30 days.
Antonio and Laura examine the items Antonio acquired. They visit the bar mentioned in the emails, where the bartender shares his observations. Laura presents a picture of Sarah Wheeler and confirms that she was at the bar with her father, Frank, and Tomczak four days before the crane accident.
Stone asked how they obtained the information. Antonio told him to do whatever he wants with the information, but Laura said that they investigated and it was on eof her CIs who reached out to her. Stone praised their work and left. Anna showed Stone the newscast that the wife supposedly saw, which made her rush to the accident site. The newscast was at 7:33, but she was there at 7:29.
Stone and Anna confront Sarah about her lie and tell her that if her father was involved in this scheme to make money, this is her chance to get ahead of it. Anna informs her that her husband was murdered and that she could be charged with first-degree murder. When Sarah says she can't help them, Anna suggests they speak to her brother, Brett. Sarah insists that no one can beat Frank and that Brett whorships him. Stone threatened to arrest her immediately and began counting down from 5. He also threatened to put her daughter in child services and keep her there until she could vote. Sarah nodded when Anna asked if she knew the crane would collapse.
Anna and Stone have a meeting with Brett and Frank. Stone encourages Frank to cut his losses and plead guilty to the murder of Evan Wheeler, but Frank wants to know where Jefferies is, as he would never sign off on this. Anna and Peter inform Frank that his daughter revealed everything to them. Frank stands up and tells them that they are going to learn the hard way, as he never folgs on a bluff and his daughter, Sarah, will never testify against him.
Tumblr media
During their investigation, Laura and Antonio visit Henry Tomczak. Laura requests to take a photo of the swordfish on his wall. After leaving Tomczak's office, Laura reveals that she took a photo of the picture beside the swordfish, which is the Dodge Challenger that was leaving the site just before the crane crash. They then visit Tomczak's girlfriend's house and find an empy cylinder of Difluoroethane in the trunk of the Challenger. This substance can be used to make the bull pin brittle.
Jefferies enters Stone's office and places a file on his desk. He informs Stone that he has made a deal with Frank Linden. Stone is outraged that there is no jail time for an act that resulted in murder. Jefferies admits that this may be true, but he is not convinced that he can prove it. In court, Frank is fined $500,000, but Stone decides to have him arrested for murder. Frank warns Stone in front of the judge that he is making a big mistake.
Frank Linden will be out in 20 minutes and will meet with Jefferies at a busy social club. During their conversation, Jefferies asks Frank if he killed his son-in-law. Frank denies the accusation and expresses his love for the thrill of building tall structures. He also mentions that he feels no one is closer to God than him. Despite being angry with Stone for bothering him, Frank believes that Jefferies is the only one who can prevent him from reaching the top.
Tumblr media
The murder trial began the following day, with Sarah as the first witness. She admitted that they were 10 months behind on the project and that they had an insurance policy for $570 million in case of an accident halting construction. When asked if the crane accident was intentional, she pleaded the 5th while looking at her father.
Anna confronts Brett outside the courtroom about his knowledge of Frank killing Evan. Brett tells her that sometimes you have to do whatever it takes to get the job done and walks away. Anna figures out that Sarah was protecting Brett and is shocked that he would allow his sister to go to prison.
Jefferies agrees that they need to get Frank behind bars. It is painful to see Sarah paying the price and going to prison. Stone decides to work a new angle at a benefit by talking very loudly about the murder and all his bankruptcy cases. He taunts Frank in front of the rich and prominent citizens of Chicago. Brett calls security, but Stone tells him that this isn't over and that he is just getting started. Stone wishes Frank a good night.
Tumblr media
The court begins, and the prosecution rests. Stone says they will wait for Frank's defense. Initially, Frank's lawyer suggests resting, but Frank insists on taking the stand. He talks at length about his financial support for various causes and denies any involvement in sabotaging the riverfront site.
Tumblr media
During questioning, Stone brings up Frank's master's thesis from Columbia University, titled "In Defense of Pinto". Frank is surprised that Stone has a copy and asks him to explain its relevance to the jury. He argued that companies could prioritize profits over human life, and that sabotaging a project to increase profits was acceptable.
Tumblr media
Frank laughed and denied his own words, insisting it was all just theory. He eventually snapped and shouted that it was all about profits, even if it meant the wrongful death of his own family members. Stone then concluded his statement and sat down.
Sarah, Frank, Brett, their attorney, Anna, and Stone were all present. Frank refused to admit guilt but agreed to a plea deal of reckless endangerment with 2 years probation. When the conversation turned to her deceased husband, Sarah remained silent. Stone agrees her pleading guilty to manslaughter and Frank is sentenced to 15 years. Frank offers Tomczak and Stone accepts, resulting in Frank receiving a 12-year sentence.
Tumblr media
During the trial, Frank denies involvement in the hit and Sarah tearfully reveals that it was her idea. Frank shouts that he had nothing to do with it. Sarah pleads with Brett not to do this, as their father took away Evan and now her daughter will be left without a mother. Brett believes they require Frank, but Stone disagrees, stating that there is no deal for any of them, and he will pursue all of them.
In court, Frank is found guilty of murder, and once it is announced, Sarah is also arrested. Jefferies is not surprised that Frank is attempting to negotiate a deal, given the numerous dirty secrets he has to trade. He suggests they enjoy another drink because they will not be returning for a while, as most of those secrets are tied to their esteemed membership.

Chicago Justice Season 1 Ep. 12 "Fool Me Twice"
Tumblr media
The team is investigating the shooting of a man who was left for dead. However, they are facing a roadblock due to the presence of other detectives who are also working on the same case. Later, Nagel discloses that the victim was her confidential informant. As a result, Stone prohibits her from working on the case because of her proximity to it.
If you want to watch the series for yourself, stop reading! This post contains spoilers to the storyline.
Laura Nagel rushes to the hospital to be with her friend Lizzie. Lizzie's brother Eric has been shot three times, and they are unsure if he will survive. Laura leaves as soon as Lizzie's boyfriend, Manny, arrives, instructing her to call as soon as Eric wakes up.
Nagel arrives at the crime scene where they found seven casings around Eric's bullet-riddled car. She pauses when she sees blood on the cracked windshield. Ken Banks introduces himself and Dt. Steve Kim from narcotics to her. She is confused about their presence but quickly learns that they found a kilo of heroin on the floor of Eric's car.
Tumblr media
Nagel returns to the ASA office and shares the case with Peter Stone. She tells him that Eric Cates was her confidential informant and that it was Eric's information that helped convict Jason, a felon who ran the Death King's stash house. Stone wonders if Jason arranged for Eric's murder in Statesville. Nagel informs him that Jason's younger brother, Jerome, now leads the gang and suspects that he discovered Eric was her informant. stone explains that it is now a case for the Chicago Police Department, but Nagel insists that people like Eric risk their lives to help them. Stone advises her to gather information discreetly and avoid interfering with the investigation.
Tumblr media
Laura informs Antonio that they can investigate the case. Before Antonio can question her, she asks if he is coming. They visit Jerome at his car dealership, where Laura suggests they review his books to check for money laundering or ask him a few question. Jerome denies being in a gang since they imprisoned his brother, Jason. Jerome claims he has not seen Eric Cates in a few years. Nagel does not believe him and suggests that he obtains the books. Jerome reiterates that he is not involved and that Eric worked for his brother. However, if Eric was hijacked, it was from Ricky Marscak's crew.
Dt. Banks informed Nagel that a good Samaritan reported witnessing the shooting. Although he did not see Marscak, he saw a red Chevy, and given the red Chevy and drug heist, they immediately suspected Ricky Marscak. Kim emerged from the interrogation room, stating that Marscak claimed he was with a woman until 3 am, but he did not know her name. Nagel then entered the interrogation room and revealed that Eric Cates was still alive. Marscak expressed relief, hoping that Eric could confirm that he did not shoot him.
After leaving the precinct, she takes Antonio back to the hospital. Eric denies that the heroin found in his car belongs to him. According to him, he was driving home on a one-way street when a car approached him. Two men got out of the car, but he couldn't identify them due to the bright lights shining in his eyes. He reversed his car and doesn't remember anything else. He claims that he couldn't see anything, but he would have noticed if the car was red.
Anna Valdez is surprised that they have a witness since it is such a rarity. Nagel finds the witness statement a bit suspicious because he said there was only one guy, but Eric says there were two. The witness mentioned the red Chevy, but Eric is sure he would have remembered that. However, the witness doesn't even have a parking ticket, so he is a model citizen.
Antonio and Laura returned to the crime scene and decided to visit Jerry Burrows, the witness. However, upon arriving at the apartment, Burrows' son Bobby informed them that his father was out driving as he worked as a cab driver. During lunch, Laura questioned why Burrows chose to report the incident to narcotics instead of going to the nearest precinct, which was only a couple of blocks away.
Tumblr media
Antonio suggested that Laura was too emotionally invested in the case and couldn't see things clearly. She explains that she grew up with Eric. When her dad drank too much, Eric's mother took her in. Antonio reveals that Jerry may be clean, but his son has been arrested twice for intent to distribute. Six months ago, he was arrested for statutory rape of a 15-year-old. She asks why he wasn't in prison, and Antonio learns that the charges were dropped on the same day that cocaine charges were filed by Dt. Banks and Dt. Kim.
Banks and Kim quickly express their belief that Bobby was not a major player and would be more useful to them on the street. Banks asserts that Bobby became an informant after they released him. Laura finds it suspicious that their informant's father is a witness in a shooting they are investigating. Kim becomes angry at the implication that they are lying. Laura and Antonio return to question Jerry Burrows, who insists he saw the red truck and rushes back into the house.
Laura returns to the hospital, where Eric offers to say the car was red if she wants him to. She declines and begins to reminisce about their childhood. She apologizes for putting a target on his back, but he maintains that the heroin is not his.
Stone and Anna meet with Antonio and Laura to review the case. Antonio explains that the heroin was only 10% pure. He investigated similar cases involving murders and found three cases with no arrests. All three cases happened in the past 24 months and have the same gang connection: the 23rd Street Jokers, who are still in a turf war with the Death Kings. Jason ordered all four shootings, and the same detectives are investigating all four cases. Anna is shocked to learn that Banks and Kim may be covering up the murders, and Laura suggests that they may even be the ones committing the crimes. Stone advises them not to jump to conclusions and reminds them that their first priority is to prove that Jerome knew about Eric Cates' betrayal of his brother.
Eric did not reveal that he snitched and implies that someone discovered it on their own. Nagel requests protection for Eric during her meeting with his sister, Lizzie. Laura discovers that Lizzie disclosed their secret to her boyfriend, Manny.
Nagel interrogates Manny, who confesses that he owed Jerome $10,000 and mentioned that he had a contact in the ASA office who could help him if he needed anything. She asked if he mentioned her name. When he said no, she told him he would be carged with conspiracy to commit murder. He choked and admitted he told Jerome her name. Laura and Antonio returned to the Ferrari dealership, and she arrested Jerome.
Stone observed as Laura and Antonio interrogated Jerome. Laura played him a recording of Banks and Kim's statements, claiming they were following his orders on the other murders. Jerome was shocked they turned on him, but his attorney told him to be quiet. Jerome desired a deal, but was informed that it was not possible. However, Stone arrived and presented him with an offer: one murder in exchange for a reduction of one-third of his sentence. Despite his lawyer's counsel to the contrary, Jerome accepted the deal.
Antonio meets Banks at a bar, and they reminisce about a bust they did years ago. Antonio admires Banks and wanted to be like him. Meanwhile, Laura arrives at Kim's home while he is having dinner with his family. As two police cruisers arrive to take him, Kim tries to close the door, but Laura holds it open. After Kim is taken into custody, Laura calls Antonio. Antonio orders Banks to leave the bar as if they are friends, or he will arrest him in front of his "fans". Mark Jefferies and Peter Stone are standing outside.
Tumblr media
In court, the judge hears about the detectives' decorated work history. However, Anna shares that they are both charged with four violent felonies as paid assassins. She sets their bail at $250,000 each.
Both attorneys meet with Stone and Anna, stating that they shot to kill when Cates came racing towards them in his vehicle. Stone admits that they took off, leaving Cates for dead. The attorney explains that they panicked. They are willing to plead guilty to leaving the scene. Anna says Jerome will testify that he hired them, but they scoff, claiming he is an infamous gangster who will say anything to save himself.
Forensics cannot verify their distance when they shot at Cates, but there is gunshot residue in the detectives' car. Anna discovers that the dash cam in the car was never turned on, but it turns on a minute before the sirens are activated. However, Anna cannot explain how it works.
Tumblr media
In the office, there is an audio recording of the detectives preparing for and shooting Cates. Apparently, they did not know that the recording starts as soon as the siren is activated. Anna explains that she noticed the camera is always recording because it cannot detect when a siren will occur. Stone is impressed with her work and instructs her to make copies and send them to the defense counsel.
In the judge's chambers, the attorneys, Stone, and Anna listen to the audio. The judge instructs them to begin discussing deals, but one person protests, stating that the police required a warrant to bug their own vehicle, making this recording a violation of their Fourth Amendment rights. The judge rules that the recordings are admissible.
Tumblr media
Dt. Kim's attorney visits Stone's office to explain the truth about Kim, his partner, and Jerome. Kim is willing to go to jail for as long as necessary, but he wants his family to be relocated and kept safe. He is also willing to testify to everything. Stone offers him life in prison, to which Kim agrees.
Jerome takes the witness stand and confesses to paying Detective Banks and Detective Kim twenty thousand dollars for each murder. He admits to taking a plea deal. He cannot be trusted. Cates confesses to being a drug runner for the Death King's, but has been clean for over a year since his arrest and agreement to be an informant.
The defense attorney accuses Ricky Marscak of the shooting, but now claims responsibility. Detective Kim testifies and the court hears a recording of him and Detective Banks. Kim explains how they took all the cases to prevent others from investigating. The defendant claims that Banks deceived him into committing the crime and that the victims were targeted because they were gang members. The defense lawyer argues that greed cannot justify murder.
Tumblr media
At a bar, Stone learns that Banks' lawyer is putting him on the stand the following day and is unsure if society can convict him. On the stand, Banks admits that he went along for the ride as Kim was the lead detective on every case. When Stone asks if this was all for the greater good, Banks agrees that it was his job to do that. He clarifies that the killings had nothing to do with any investigations but that a cop never stops being a cop. Stone then asks if the money was just a tip. Banks believed that Cates deserved to die because he conducted business with a gang member. Stone challenged this belief by questioning Banks about taking money from Jerome. Banks remained silent.
Tumblr media
The closing arguments were completed, and the jury found Detective Banks not guilty of all four counts of murder and attempted murder.
Laura chased after Cates, who quickly left the courtroom. Cates shared that if he had gone to jail for the burglary, he would have been released six months ago. Laura promised to protect him, but he did not believe her.

Chicago Justice Season 1 Ep. 11 "AQD"
Tumblr media
The team is investigating the murder of an Alderman who was against environmental policies. He was killed in a hit-and-run accident. Dawson and Nagel are having trouble finding witnesses to the crime. Valdez discovers that the driver was a mother who was frantically trying to find her kidnapped daughter, but later finds out it was a scam. During the investigation, Dawson runs into Sylvie Brett and thinks about their former relationship.
If you want to watch the series for yourself, stop reading! This post contains spoilers to the storyline.
The episode starts with a meeting in Alderman Christopher Jones' office. A delivery man enters, and after Chris signs for the package, he pours oil all over the desk. However, He is stopped before he can light the oil on fire. He shouts that Chris is sending poison into their neighbourhoods and killing their children. The man is then dragged out of the building through the back. Chris left the office, stating that he needed some fresh air. However, as he crossed the street, a truck hit him, throwing him onto another parked vehicle.
During a conversation with Antonio Dawson, a witness confirms that the driver did not swerve to avoid the victim and did not stop after the accident. The witness provides the last three digits of the license plate and mentions that the car had special lettering on the side. Sylvie Brett from Chicago Fire infoms Antonio that the hit and run victim did not survive and hands him the report. Laura Nagel joins Antonio, but they do not have much information to share. Nagel is surprised to learn that the victim is Alderman Christopher Jones.
During the interrogation, Nagel and Antonio question the delivery man, Jim Sprague, who is angry about Christopher Jones' actions. He believes that the city's transportation department is destroying the city with their "bomb trains". Sprague reveals that the oil was only symbolic and was made of prune juice and soap. Antonio suggests that Sprague wanted to "cut off the head of the snake" by targeting Chris, who was the face of the issue on TV. When Sprague responds with "something like that", Antonio interprets it as a confession. Nagel implies that he murdered Alderman Jones. Jim is shocked and says that he would never kill someone.
Bobby visits Mark Jefferies and reveals all the other antics citizens have done in protest of the Department of Transportation. Bobby states that there is no chance this death was an accident and claims that they are not environmentalists but anarchists. He demands that Jefferies make an example of these people and then leaves.
Tumblr media
Jefferies meets with Peter Stone, who reveals that Antonio and Laura are at the environmental group Jim Sprague created. They only have partial specialty plates and are checking traffic cameras in the area.
At the group's headquarters, Antonio and Laura talk to someone who shares that there is nothing wrong with them making a political statement. He says they are opposed to the oil trains, just like they are opposed to killing people. He hands them a pamphlet. The pamphlet explains how they can show their opposition by writing or speaking to their Alderman. He also tells them that they are free to speak to his people.
Nagel returns to the office and discovers a potential match for the license plate digits. They visit Mrs. St. James, who informs them that she rents out her vehicle. She reveals that Jane Reynolds rented the car early that morning. Antonio requests that she track the car, and she demonstrates how she monitors it. Antonio takes her tablet, promising to take care of it, while they leave to locate the car.
Tumblr media
Nagel and Dawson found the vehicle parked alongside train tracks. When they opened the door, they found two young teens smoking inside. The vehicle was damaged, and both teens were very high. The teens insisted that they were the wrong suspects as they did not kill anyone.
Antonio confirms that Jane synced her phone to the vehicle's bluetooth and finds her cell phone number. They find Jane sitting in a park. When they arrest her, she begs them not to touch the bag full of money, saying, "They have my daughter!"
In the interrogation room, Jane says that hitting the Alderman was an accident, as he came out of nowhere. She says the man told her that if she stopped, she would never see her daughter again. The woman's daughter was scheduled to visit the museum with her classmates. However, she received a call from a man who claimed that her phone had been hacked and that she was being monitored. The man threatened that if she hung up or sent a text, she would never see her daughter, Emma, again. Antonio was surprised that the men only demanded 8,000.
Stone asks if anyone believes her story. Nagel questions why the kidnappers would care about the source of the money. Anna Valdez wonders why they insisted on her renting a car when she owns a brand new Mercedes. The call she received is also a dead end since it came from a burner phone. Stone asks if it is possible this was an accident once they check her history, but Antonio said she didn't stop. Laura suggests she may have panicked. Stone instructs Laura and Antonio to inform Jane's ex-husband about their missing daughter.
He is shocked to learn that Emma is missing, but Antonio assures him that the FBI is working on locating her. Antonio requests that he return with them so they can question him further.
Captain Reynolds expressed surprise that his ex-partner did not call the police immediately when their daughter, Emma, went missing. Jane emphasised the urgency of finding Emma and disregarded any discussion about her ex-husband. Although both parents have a strained relationship, Reynolds acknowledged that Jane is an excellent mother. He also mentioned that he is working four jobs to support them.
Tumblr media
After separate interrogations, Antonio and Laura left their rooms, and Anna arrived with Emma, who had been on a class trip the entire time.
Anna and Stone walk with Jefferies. Jefferies learns that Emma was only virtually kidnapped. He says, unfortunately, the funeral he needs to attend is very real. Anna says there are two victims here, but Jefferies doesn't want to hear it. He says that if someone took his grandchild, he would call the FBI, and if he ran down someone on the way, he would call the cops. Jane is being accused of reckless homicide and leaving the scene. Anna argues that each person should only be punished for the harm they caused, citing AQD (ad quod damnum). Jefferies, who also went to law school, disagrees and points out that the woman ran down an Alderman, which is a significant harm.
Tumblr media
Jefferies lacks sympathy and instructs them to charge the mother, but then retracts his statement and says that if they catch and convict the person who called her, he may consider offering probation.
Antonio and Laura return to Jane's room and ask who knew about Emma's field trip. Jane discloses that someone called her house first and that there may be a recording of the call. Nagel asked why Jane didn't contact the police after receiving the first call. Antonio explained that when his son was taken, he couldn't think straight and all that mattered was getting his child back. As they played the message back, Antonio questioned why Darth Vader would need 8 grand.
The lab technician reveals that the caller used an app to scramble their voice. The technician fixed it for them to hear, and as they listen, they realize the voice belongs to Captain Reynolds. Stone and Anna are quickly informed, and Anna explains that what he did amounts to intimidation, which is a Class 3 felony. This means he won't face more than a year in prison. Antonio is furious.
Tumblr media
Stone instructs them to arrest him and charge him with the death of Christopher Jones. Jones was killed during the commission of a felony, and Stone argues that his actions constituted felony kidnapping. Anna disputes this, stating that Emma was not physically kidnapped, but rather subjected to virtual kidnapping. Stone responds by pointing out that the statute does not make a distinction between physical and virtual kidnapping.
When the authorities arrived to arrest Captain Reynolds, he was having dinner with Emma. He tried to close the door on them, but Nagel pushed it open and gave him two options: either he could come with tem quietly and let the social worker sit with Emma, or his 10-year-old daughter could watch them drag him out kicking and screaming. He chose to leave quietly with them.
Meanwhile, at the bar, Anna and Stone were discussing marriage and divorce over dinner. Upon arrival, Holly Washington introduced herself as Ted Reynolds' public defender. She handed over a motion to dismiss, stating that she did not want to disturb them and that she was not there to make a deal. She found the charge of felony murder amusing.
In court the following day, Stone had to explain how a virtual kidnapping could lead to a murder charge. Holly argued that intimidation was not sufficient to trigger the felony murder rule, but Stone countered that any felony involving a threat of physical force would trigger the rule. The judge denied their motion to dismiss.
Back at the office, Jefferies was unimpressed with Stone's victory, stating that he was bootstrapping the law.
Tumblr media
In court, Stone's lab technician revealed how they identified the scrambled voice on the tape. However, Holly raised concerns that the technician may have altered the voice too much, making it unrecognizable. She requested that the technician replay the tape where the voice threatens Jane, but he admitted that there was no actual threat on the recording.
Jane takes the stand. However, she contradicts the tapes that the court has already heard. She says that the caller mentioned her daughter's name on her cell phone. This implied that he would cut Emma's throat if she didn't comply with his demands of renting a car and withdrawing money at various banks and ATMs. She claims to have been on the phone with him the entire time, driving as fast as she could. she accidentally hit Alderman Jones but was unable to call the police or stop because the caller threatened to kill Emma if she did.
Holly gets Jane to confess that she and Ted argued during their marriage and produces the divorce papers. Jane committed perjury twice about her husband threatening her, but these claims were later dismissed. Holly confronts Emma about being the only one who heard her husband allegedly making those threats. Jane was driving like a maniac and Holly questions whether he really threatened to hurt Emma.
The jury deliberated for four days, but they were unable to reach a verdict, and the judge declared a mistrial. Stone informed Holly and Ted that he would file for a retrial, despite Jefferies' objections.
Anna explained to Antonio and Laura that the mistrial occurred because Ted did not threaten her in the recordings. Jefferies recommended charging Jane with reckless homicide and leaving the scene. Antonio is shocked. Stone is okay with that. However, unless Ted confesses, they have nothing. Nagel suggests talking to Emma.
During the meeting, Emma confides in Laura that she was frightened by her parents' arguments, even though her father never hit her mother because he loves her.
Meanwhile, Stone tells Antonio that childrend tend to see what they want to see when it comes to painting pictures. Antonio shares a story about his ex. He says that somewhere deep inside, he always thinks about whether his wife will ever come back to him. He explains that this is something that happens when you share a child together. Stone pauses.
Anna and Stone meet with Ted and Jane with their attorneys. Jane's attorney presents them with a deal for a 5-year prison sentence. Ted agrees to the deal, but Jane calls him a bastard, questioning what kind of father pretends to kidnap his own daughter. Despite Ted's desire for full custody, Jane refuses to take the deal. Stone stands up and says that it's fine with him, and Antonio handcuffs Jane as Ted watches quietly.
Tumblr media
As they escort Jane out, Ted confesses everything in front of Stone, Anna, and Antonio. Jane is released, and Ted is arrested by Antonio. Stone offers Jane one year of probation. Jefferies finds it bizarre that Ted hates Jane but is willing to go to prison for 20 years for her.

Chicago Justice Season 1 Ep. 10 "Drill"
Tumblr media
A child, innocent and uninvolved, becomes a victim of the escalating gang war. The State's Attorney's office investigates and discovers that both gangs use social media to fuel their battles. Stone makes a controversial decision to try to shut off the members' smartphones.
If you want to watch the series for yourself, stop reading! This post contains spoilers to the storyline.
At a bus stop, a man in an Army uniform carrying a backpack appears nervous as the police drive by. He enters a church where a team is buying back guns at a table. The man sells them a gun, which is later found to be covered in blood splatters, leading to his arrest.
Tumblr media
Laura and Antonio question him about the origin of the gun. He admits that he got the gun from under his nephew Andre's bed. DNA analysis reveals that the blood on the gun belongs to a gang member named Damon Cafferty. Peter and Hannah prepare to start their murder case, and the trial of Lara's killer begins.
Tumblr media
Lara was walking to school when a gang member began shooting, and Damon Cafferty was identified as the shooter. Damon was shot in the arm. Lara, unfortunately, was killed by a stray bullet. Laura and Antonio have just entered the courtroom to inform Peter and Hannah that they have found the murder weapon. It is possible that the wrong person is on trial for the murder.
Tumblr media
Forensics have confirmed that the gun was used to kill Lara. Mark scolds Peter and Hannah for putting the wrong person on trial. The defendant requested a 72-hour continuance, which the judge granted. Laura and Antonio gave him a ride home, and he was placed under house arrest. While walking home, he was shot in the leg by a passing car.
Tumblr media
Peter and Hannah are questioning the person who turned in the gun to find out how Andre obtained it. He informs them that Keo Vincent visited on the night of Lara's murder and suspects that Keo provided Andre with the gun. Lara and Peter locate Keo, but he denies any connection to Lara's killing.
PDK and Drexil Posse are currently engaged in a gang war, which has resulted in three deaths and eight injuries within the last eight hours. Hannah has obtained cell phone records for Keo, which indicate that he was present on the block where Lara was killed on the night of her death. Peter is attempting to obtain a hearing to confiscate the gang members' cell phones, as they are being used to plan acts of violence. The judge has granted Peter's request for a hearing, initially Mark is opposed to Peter's plan, but he eventually agrees to give it a chance.
Tumblr media
During the hearing, the first amendment was argued, along with the epidemic number of deaths in Chicago. The judge allowed Peter to shut down 39 cell phones. The ACLU immediately filed an appeal. Andrea visited the police department and reported that Keo had been harassing him and requested his gun back. Peter and Hannah informed Andrea that they would arrest Keo, but they needed him to testify. However, Andre and his uncle stated that they could not testify and would have to go into hiding.
Mark challenges Peter, stating that it will be nearly impossible to make a difference with what is happening in their town. However, Peter refuses to give up. He requests that the trial continue and wants to call Keo to the stand. Peter believes that Keo is the real killer and hopes that he will incriminate himself once he is on the stand. Peter hands Keo the gun, knowing that it sticks when loaded. Stackhouse has had the charges against him dropped, and Keo has been arrested for Lara's murder. The team celebrates their victory, but their joy is short-lived as they receive news that Andre's uncle has been killed.

Chicago Justice Season 1 Ep. 9 "Comma"
Tumblr media
The State's Attorney's office is investigating the murder of a college student. Their prime suspect is a college student who was acquitted of murdering her boyfriend in Spain. Stone delves deeper into the case and begins to suspect that the prime suspect may not be guilty.
If you want to watch the series for yourself, stop reading! This post contains spoilers to the storyline.
The team arrived at the scene of a murder involving a female college student named Kennedy. She was killed while participating in an escape room game. The team began interviewing students who attended the prison break-themed party.
Tumblr media
The prosecutors suspect Abigail, another student who had served time but was acquitted for the murder of her boyfriend in Spain. They discuss whether it is too early to pursue Abigail and ultimately decide to take her in.
They visit her mother, who is unaware of her whereabouts. They inspect her room and find that she has been sleeping in the cellar. Her mother explains that she has been struggling to adjust since her release from prison. They discover a piece of artwork under her bed from Todd, who seems to be an admirer.
They locate him. They follow him home, where a Spanish bounty hunter joints them. Todd denies seeing Abigail. They sneak into the house with guns drawn and take Abigail in for questioning. Nagel attempts to speak with her, but she becomes angry and violent, attacking Dawson. They restrain her.
Tumblr media
Spain is seeking Abigail's extradition for a retrial. Peter has gone to court to prevent this from happening. The judge has given Peter 48 hours to file charges officially, or Abigail will be handed over to Spain. A celebrity website published a picture of Abigail in the escape room. Dawson and Nagel have tracked down the person who took the photo and are creating a timeline. Abigail appears to be innocent of Kennedy's murder. The detectives visit her in the hospital to gather more information about her friends, who are now the primary suspects.
Nagel and Dawson investigate the crime scene and discover a gun, which makes Abigail a material witness in the case. Upon dusting the gun, they find two sets of fingerprints, one of which belongs to Kennedy. As a result, she is now the owner of the gun.
Tumblr media
Kennedy's father admits to buying her the gun because he was worried for her safety. Although she didn't have any enemies, she had a run-in with a political group at her college. They head to the college to talk to the Madison Club. It was discovered that Kennedy had an issue with her English teacher. The teacher frequently expressed their left-wing views, which Kennedy disagreed with. During a class, Kennedy saw something on her phone and the teacher confiscated it. Kennedy planned to file a complaint about the incident.
Nagel and Dawson visit the teacher and question him about his confrontation with her in the student union. They leave after he mentions that Kennedy had a gun in the escape room, which was public knowledge. They return and question more students. During the trial, it was discovered that Bethany, a student who was present, had left a second set of fingerprints. The defense attempted to argue that the defendant acted in self-defense.
Kennedy's father testified, explaining that his wife had been raped and murdered in their home when Kennedy was young. He bought her a gun to help protect herself.
During the trial, Peter cross-examines Kennedy's English teacher while Bethany watches with a smile. He criticises gun owners. Bethany takes the stand. She testifies that she had never met Kennedy before and admits that there was a struggle and that Kennedy had a gun. She shot her because she believed Kennedy was going to shoot her. She apologized to the jury.
During dinner, the prosecution meets with Nagel and Dawson and discovers that Bethany had a connection to Kenned, which Abigail had previously disclosed. Abigail testifies and successfully proves that Bethany is lying. However, the defense attempts to discredit her by bringing up her past troubles in Spain and current extradition issues, causing her to break down in tears on the stand.
Tumblr media
During the trial, the prosecution discovered that both the professor and Bethany had used the same quote about shooting up an NRA office in their interviews. Bethany had included it in a story she wrote for class. The following day, Peter questioned Bethany about her relationship with the professor, which caused her to break down on the stand. Bethany viewed the professor as a father figure, and Kennedy's threats towards him were a threat to her. In an attempt to stop Kennedy from ruining her life, Bethany shot her. As a result, Bethany was convicted and sentenced.
