I mean. Yeah. being thrust into this insane world / business at 18 irrevocably altered my brain chemistry. but I gotta say, I wake up everyday and make a coffee and sit with my son while we have breakfast and I think to myself “you made it out relatively unscathed to this point, kid.” and for that I am grateful beyond measure. all it took was the exhaustion of waking up and self evaluating on a microscopic level for the past 5 years (which nearly killed me) BUT. I’m here. And I have kept it pretty much together (best as I can) as of recent. which is more than 18 year old me would have ever given herself the faith to bet on. Growth and pain and peace on the horizon. You got this.

When did you know you were going to make a career out of being creative?
I guess it just sort of happened. I didn’t really know what I was signing up for, I thought it would be the cheat code to life; do the thing you love and survive off of it. But at this point there’s not a single passion of mine that hasn’t been monetized or exploited in some way and when art starts having input and rules and perimeters it gets complicated. I would still choose this over any other type of livelihood any day. But the tough parts come when you make something you want to share and it immediately becomes part of the “brand” or the “narrative”. Very high stakes for every little creation because they all color the vast scope of how you are perceived as an artist. Even little things I post on here. To answer your question, I guess I’m still not sure about making a career out of being a creative! Haha. But if I didn’t, it would try to consume and eat every part and hour of my day anyway. At least this way I get to use it for something good. Plus the greatest part, having been on both sides of it as an artist, is that with this growth comes a whole new world of resources and opportunities. Every time I walk into a huge set I designed, or work with a hero producer of mine, I am reminded of the times I walked into an art store and looked at the expensive canvases and though “Wow the things I could make if I only had access to the tools.” It teaches me to never take for granted having the tools, because I remember what it was like to window-shop through it. I guess that was when I decided. When I knew I had to sell art so that I could make money to make more and better art. It all goes back into the pot and the next thing evolves. That’s sorta the best way to do it.

Could you write about going to the beach with trevor and you're family?
I didn't know what kind of family you were wanting, so I went with sister/nieces and nephew
trevor zegras x reader
“Braeden!” Your sister yelled to your nephew who was already knee deep in the water. “You need to get sunscreen first!”  He ran back to his mom as the group of you, your sister, Sarah, her husband, Josh, their kids, Braeden, Scarlet, and Ava, and of course your boyfriend, Trevor, sat your stuff down and spread out the blankets. You hung back for a second. Trevor wrapped his arms around your waist and rested his chin on your shoulder. You leaned back into him.
“Thanks for coming, Trev.” He gave you a squeeze.
“Anything for the kids, baby.” You looked back at him and made a face. “And you, of course.” You smiled and kissed his cheek.
“You better be.” He laughed, dropping his arms from your waist and went to help your brother in law get the umbrellas set up.
“Can you hold her for a minute?” Your sister said as she walked over to where you were standing.
“Yeah, sure.” You held your arms out and took the youngest of the kids, Ava so your sister could put sunscreen on the other two children. You adjusted her hat so the sun was out of her face. Setting her on your hip, you started to help unpack the cooler.
“Alright, ready to go!” Sarah said as she patted both Braeden and Scarlet on the back. She reached for Ava but you kept her.
“Take a break, Trevor and I will watch the kids for a while.” She gave you a grateful look.
“Oh, hun, are you sure?” You nodded.
“Yes, you guys go take a walk or something. We will be okay. Trevor’s great with kids.” You looked over your shoulder. “Aren’t you, babe?” Trevor looked up from the cooler he was rummaging through for a drink.
“Yep!” He yelled back. Sarah gave you a hug and called for her husband. They talked for a second before hugging and kissing their kids and saying they would be right back.
As soon as their parents left, the kids ran under the umbrella to where Trevor was sitting.
“Uncle Trevor, can you come in the water with us?” He looked over at you with a shocked face. You smiled widely back at him. The kids had known him for a while now, but that was new.
“Uh, yeah. Let’s go.” He followed the kids down to the beach.
“I’m Uncle Trevor.” He said quietly, but very excitedly as he passed you. You let out a small laugh and went to sit down under the umbrella with the baby. After putting an extra layer of sunscreen on her just in case, you sat cross legged and sat Ava in front of you. She was entertained for a while, but after the fifth time you had to crawl across the blanket to get the toy that she threw, you decide it might be time to walk around. You got up and picked her up before walking towards the water where the other two children were taking turns being thrown into the shallow water by Trevor.
“Can I join the party?” You said from the shoreline. Trevor turned towards you with his arms out.
“You wanna get thrown too?” He said as he started walking towards you. You took a few steps back.
“Baby!” You warned. He laughed and turned back to the kids. You set Ava down and held her by her hands as she stood just close enough to the water to get her feet wet. A bigger wave splashed her upper legs causing her to start screaming. Trevor’s head whipped over to the two of you and you quickly picked her up.
“Oh, okay. Not a fan, I see.” You bounced her to try to get her to stop crying. You gave a pleading look to Trevor. For some reason, when it came to Ava, he had the magic touch. He came out of the water and took her from you, giving you a kiss on the temple as you switched positions.
The water was colder than you would have liked, but the kids seemed fine.
“Okay, I can’t throw you as far as Uncle Trevor, but I can try.” You picked up Scarlet under her arms and threw her as far as you could. In between throws, you looked over to check on Trevor. He was sitting with his knees up. You couldn’t see her, but you guessed she was balanced on his legs. You gave a soft smile before turning back to the kids.
After a few more turns for each kid, the three of you walked back to the blanket.
“You guys have fun?” Trevor asked. Scarlett and Braeden both replied excitedly as you got their snacks out. You gave them each theirs before sitting down next to Trevor. He opened one of his arms.
“Sit down, baby. They’re okay.” You sighed before doing as you’re told. You leaned into Trevor and he wrapped his arm loosely around your hip. The two of you talked with the kids about how much fun they had and not too much later, Sarah and Josh came walking back. They thanked you profusely as they checked on the kids.
“You are officially off duty.” Josh said as he took Ava from Trevor. Trevor unraveled you from his arm and stood up. You gave him a confused look.
“Good, because I’ve been wanting to do this all day.” Before you knew what was happening, Trevor scooped you up and started running towards the water.
“Trevor!” You yelled, but it was useless. You hit the water with a splash. After resurfacing, you deadpanned at him. He was laughing. You got out of the water and jumped on him, causing him to fall backwards into the water. As you both came up, you stayed there for a second, just soaking up the moment. You leaned up to give him a quick kiss.
“Love you, baby.” He said.
“Love you, too.” You looked at him sweetly for a few seconds before dunking him underwater. The war had just begun.

very curious seeing writing i did on here (when i was a teenager) having such a resurgence ten years later. makes me wonder how i will feel about my writing from now, when i am 10 years older. do you ever read something you wrote when you were younger and feel like it belongs to a stranger? i could shudder and shrink when i read it, and judge the work of a different version of me based on the standards to which i hold THIS version of me. but i think i will choose not to, and instead choose to commend my younger self for being brave enough to try. ultimately that journey is what got me here, no?

A Glimpse of Them
Pairings: Rooster x Wife!Reader, Goose x Carole, Maverick x Penny
Author’s Note: Inspired by this absolutely precious Anon request, as well as my great love for the iconic Goose and Carole Bradshaw.
Warnings: Super fluffy fluff, as well as a little bit of angst that comes from missing the people you love.
Tumblr media
From the very beginning, Maverick knew that you and Bradley were meant to be.
How?
Because every time he looked at the two of you, he saw them.

k so i love the idea that peter joined the death eaters because he saw it as a way to protect not only himself but his friends, especially james, but i am now utterly convinced that eventually peter saw voldemort as a replacement for james or basically saw him as james 2.0 and voldemort used that to his advantage. voldemort would use legilimency on peter and saw that he was in love with james so he would try and act like james would towards peter. he would treat peter differently than he would treat the other death eaters and eventually peter wouldn’t realize just how wrong what he was doing was. he wouldn’t realize that he was betraying his friends. that’s how voldemort got peter to help him return because he used peter’s love for james against him.
