Photo Assignment 3 Part 2: Generational Waste (March 2020)
These were all taken on my grandma’s property. The state is taking it and the house for a highway very soon, and we will lose all of this “stuff” forever. All the memories and value will be lost.

Assignment 3 Part 1: Generational Waste (March 2020)
Increasingly important, our generation of products, therefore waste, is weighing heavy on this planet, and my mind. Too often neglected, I want to study how this increase of consumerism and the “stuff” we keep affects our planet, and human relationships. Growing up in a hoarding situation that has seemed to span over generations, and gotten increasingly worse, I am trying to break this cycle and find a better way. Firsthand, I have seen and felt the pressure and stress of dealing with “stuff.”

Update
I'm finally using this blog again. It's been so long and I've been quite busy. I graduated from Glenn High School and moved into Guilford College. I haven't had as much time to travel or take photos. I also have my first job, which really fits me. I work for the marketing department at Guilford College as a multimedia assistant. I mostly take photos of events on campus and such. I'm hoping this work study job will improve my photography skills and help me grow. Unfortunately, this semester I was unable to take any photo classes because they were full but I am a declared Art major with focus in Photography. Next semester is when I plan to take my first college level photo classes which is so exciting. Anyway, this past week, for my fall break, I went to New Orleans and will post about that next.

My first time in France: I’ve decided to post my first photo set from [unedited] photographs I took in Caen, France this week. These pictures are just a sample of the many I got. I took them on Sunday, March 27th, 2016 while walking around Caen for the first time. As far as the weather goes, it was quite cold and very windy. There was at least 8 beautiful ancient churches with very intriguing architectural designs I saw. The streets were very narrow but had a cute feel with all the little shops I passed. Sadly, many places were closed since it was easter but I was lucky enough to find a few open restaurants and went to the restaurant “La Poterne” (pictured) + the salmon there was really good.

// first post
I’m testing the waters of having a “photography” blog. The purpose for having this is looking back later and seeing my journey in photography to see my improvement of quality and skill over time along with documenting where I go. I intend to have a description for each photo set I post; mostly about where it was taken and bonus thoughts about the location, weather, my experience, etc. This blog is generally just for me but I do welcome any feedback anyone has. Also, as listed in my bio, my main blog is http://sunflowervortex.tumblr.com/
