Poll Time!
Friends, I recently thought up a small series of erotic shorts about the (very gay) erotic adventures of a pudgy ancient Greek youth. Would anyone be interested in reading that? 🤔

Hermes rescuing Dionysus
His part saving Dionysus from Hera's wrath is very touching and imagine Dionysus feeling alone and helpless in that moment. Maybe even thinking what he did so wrong to deserve such treatment.

Israel's attacks have exacted a devastating toll on the cultural heritage of the Palestinian territory. "Based on satellite images, the U.N. cultural organization reckons some 41 historic sites have been damaged since Israel began pounding the besieged territory after Oct. 7 [2023]."
"All the archaeological remains in the north have been hit," Palestinian archaeologist Fadel al-Otol told Agence France-Presse (AFP).
Anthedon, the ancient Greek site in Gaza, was among the sites that were bombed, destroying its sole private museum.
"The Israeli military did not comment on specific sites. It accused Hamas of systematically using civilian structures like cultural heritage sites, government buildings, schools, shelters and hospitals for military purposes."

I especially hate all the things that require you to use their app now. A smartphone is a data kraken already, no need to feed it even more data with a stupid app that is essentially just a limited browser. And it makes life really difficult for people who don't (want to) have a smartphone.
not to sound old fashioned or whatever but getting rid of payphones is a mistake, and the only reason we should do it is if we're replacing them with free, public use phones. Having the ability to reach out to others in every place of public congress and transit is an important safety feature and the advent and adoption of smartphones does not negate their utility.
I know i've already lost this battle, so it's somewhat pointless to say, but smartphones die. chargers aren't always there. smartphones break. some people don't have them. Being able to call someone and ask for help, to get in touch with friends and family, without relying on something you yourself own, is a societal good.
Furthermore, expecting everybody to have a single piece of fragile technology on them at all times to the point that critical services are not available without them is truly mind-boggling to me. This goes for things like restaurant menus and transit maps as well. you should be able to navigate the world without a brick made by Apple or Samsung, and if you can't, then something is fundamentally broken. It's one thing for new technology to augment an existing real-world experience, it's another thing to usurp it entirely.

Moros & The Trio, By Hikari Toriumi, a story artist at Walt Disney Animation Studios
“I thought it'd be cute if Moros was Thanatos's older brother and Than had his long hair phase because he was inspired by him.”

Now, researchers have put a nail in the coffin of porn addiction. Josh Grubbs, Samuel Perry and Joshua Wilt are some of the leading researchers on America’s struggles with porn, having published numerous studies examining the impact of porn use, belief in porn addiction, and the effect of porn on marriages. And Rory Reid is a UCLA researcher who was a leading proponent gathering information about the concept of hypersexual disorder for the DSM-5. These four researchers, all of whom have history of neutrality, if not outright support of the concepts of porn addiction, have conducted a meta-analysis of research on pornography and concluded that porn use does not predict problems with porn, but that religiosity does

I’m really excited about the eclipse because I’m going to be able to see 94% of it
Helios alone under the cut since I haven’t drawn him before

It’s really haphazard just because I knew he’d be obscured by both Selene and the effects. It’s mainly his hair and chlamys that’s definitive. There are twelve rays.

So Netflix is releasing this animated movie but here’s the thing - all backgrounds are done in AI. No actual BG artists were hired or credited for this work.
And here’s the kicker - I gave them too much credit. I realized that not even the AI users are credited apparently.
Check this out:

“+Human”. No names, no nothing.

I know it’s tempting, but please don’t hate-watch this thing. Numbers equal profit even if the people watching are just doing it to mock. Don’t give Netflix and other studios even more incentive to fire more animators and replace them with machines trained on their work and skill. Hilariously, the excuse used is ‘there aren’t enough artists’. That’s not true - there are more than enough artists, but the real issue is that no one wants to pay a living wage. Here’s a short video about the reality of animation in Japan.

The biggest winners in this equation at the end of the day are the AI infrastructure owners - owners of Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, etc. Do not feed this machine, it creates more monopolization of entire industries, raises a powerful few and dehumanizes the rest.
EDIT: a lot of people are unsure what the anime’s called - it’s The Dog and the Boy.
