Honestly, regardless of age I think everyone is a bit cringe. The difference between young cringe and old cringe is that old cringe has had a chance to pick up tannins, mellow and/or aerate.

Sometimes I see someone on here I think is a bit cringe and I check their blog and see they’re like 15 & the bit of cringe is undercut by a slight fondness. Like when a baby’s being noisy in a store. This still isn’t pleasant but I hold no ill will towards you. Blessings upon your travels

OPEN LETTER TO FANFICTION WRITERS ON ACCESSIBILITY; PLEASE READ.

first of all, thank you for spending your time, seldom acknowledged and definitely deserving of a compensation you are not receiving, to entertain us. i’m speaking on behalf of more than just blind readers, but everyone. you’re sick as hell.

i’ve summoned you to provide some information you may not already know. i know a lot of you like fonts. especially those who cross post their work on wattpad. i admire any and all acts of aestheticism to a degree, and can understand the desire to use them. (blind folk, sorry y’all. momma’s making a point.) 𝔰𝔱𝔲𝔣𝔣 𝔩𝔦𝔨𝔢 𝔱𝔥𝔦𝔰, it’s cute. 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐟𝐟 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 is a little cuter to me, if i had to choose. or maybe 𝓈𝑜𝓂𝑒𝓉𝒽𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝓁𝒾𝓀𝑒 𝓉𝒽𝒾𝓈?

whether you participated and discovered it for yourself or you thought this was a crock of shit you’d rather not sniff, i’ll tell you! screen readers cannot dictate words using those fonts. at least, on a majority of devices. not mine, or any of my mutuals elsewhere.

you do not have to change your behavior on my behalf, but please be aware that fonts limit access to your work.

blind readers do exist, i exist, and i am bound by the same feelings of dogged longing that make other sad horny bitches read angsty, smutty, father-wounded nonsense.

“They say I can live to 150 or more,” Lily says, “And you’ll likely live to 100 at the most.” Petunia is about to push the girl out of her bed, just another reason I’m lesser than you, is that it? but then Lily says, “I’ve known you my whole life. What will I do for so long without you?”

And then Petunia can’t help but smooth back Lily’s red-red hair and press a kiss to her brow. “Lils,” she says in a soft tone of voice she’s hardly ever used in her life, “I’m the big sister. I’m supposed to die first. And when I go, you’ll do what little sisters are supposed to do when their big sisters die. Live on, for me, and for yourself.”

Lily, ever obstinate, says, “I don’t know that I’ll want to.”

But Petunia thinks of how beautiful her little sister is, and all her friends, and her bravery, and says, “When I die, you won’t be alone. You’ll have a beautiful family and you’ll be happy to live for them. You will. I promise.”

Sometimes I miss him so much. I've read this story once before, some time last year, but I decided to give it a listen to again using my speech reader, and this part hit me like a punch to the stomach. I find myself asking myself that very question weekly- what do I do now? What do I do for the rest of my life without him? I have family and friends, plenty of reasons to live and be happy, but it's like someone reached into a puzzle, took a handful of random pieces and threw them into a fire. Every time I see a final fantasy meme, or watch an IT tik tok that makes me laugh I think 'Bubba would laugh at that' but he won't anymore and so I keep scrolling bc what else is there to do but just keep going. Now when my parents pull some nonsense there's no one for me to turn to the vent who really understands the history there. The first time I took my son to the local pumpkin patch this year all I could remember was how so much of our history going to it was tied in with my brother and I taking our families together there every year. There's only two people in my entire life that I have ever trusted as much as I did him, and he's gone.

Pretty sure that's a thing that goes all the way back to the Dawes Roll. So when natives signed that they could only claim x amount of heritage if they were mix tribe due to these limitations, and now everyone after can only claim from the heritage that those family members claimed at the time.

I once had someone accuse me of racefaking because I mentioned my sister in-law is Japanese. I don't think people understand 1. how race works and 2. what the "in-law" part means.

I get that assholes lying about their race is a plague out there on the internet but sometimes people have family members who aren't the same ethnicity and that's okay, actually.
