Dear readers,
My overall theme is a love story but I choose to use love letter as a repeating imagery for my blog because I feel like it’s a very simple and very true to the aesthetic. These days, love letters are not used to express emotions anymore and the idea of falling for someone is not as sweet and innocent. The love letter is a very old-school way of confessing to someone about how you feel towards them and I find it very adorable. I also incorporate the colour pink a lot onto the images because it symbolizes how I’m looking through a rose coloured glass. How the blog progresses is that it is the journey of me starting to learn to love myself before loving someone else. At the beginning, the poem talks about my having to grow up and to find my identity; also through the poem twilight where I have to learn to love my eyes. Then at the very end, I’ve found my identity with the help of the person I love and I want to tell them how I feel therefore symbolizing the love letter I give to him at the very end.
I think my writing has improved throughout this course. When I first started, I noticed that my creative writing tends to be bland and in a way colourless. I’m often distracted with what I’m writing. After taking the course, I noticed that my writing becomes focused and instead of wasting words on useless details, I use symbolisms and imageries to further accentuate my writings.
I am very proud of my sonnet actually. I feel like I really embrace the shakespearian sonnet really well in terms of style and wordings. I also love the theme of the sonnet because it shows how at this stage, I realize that the world is so much better than what I thought it was. Because I learned to love myself, I started to love my life too and the fact that he makes it so much better really compliments my overall theme.
I would give my overall assignement a mark of 85%. I think in its entirety it is well organized and I think the contents are also well-written. I think my slam poem is really creative because in the video I try to focus on my eyes while I do a voiceover so it’s not boring for the viewers. I’m just missing a few aspects which is the news article. I can’t seem to fit it in any of my entries and I can’t seem to find a good news articles to go with my theme. I also think my film review could’ve bee done better. I just couldn’t completely follow the conventions because I could’t find discussions from lead actors or directors. Other than that I’m very proud of my assignment.

Conventions of Imagism
IMAGISM pt.1
Imagism is a type of poetry that describes images with simple language and great focus. It came out of the Modernist movement in poetry. In the early 1900s, poets abandoned the old ways of writing poems and created a new movement in poetry called Modernism.the art of imagism has 3 main rules/ elements. These elements were finalized by a group of poets in the 20th century. It was started by Ezra Pound and several others in Europe. First, Imagist poets should present the image in simple ways. In other words. The poem should be a direct treatment of the "thing", subjectively or objectively. Second, The poets does not "comment". Which means poets should not include personal opinions into the poem and To use absolutely no word that does not contribute to the presentation. Lastly, the poet should use the words necessary to paint the image, not to fit some type of rhythmic pattern. As regarding rhythm: to compose in sequence of the musical phrase, not in sequence of the metronome.

The Good Place
FILM REVIEW pt.2
Tumblr media
The Good Place is an American fantasy comedy television series created by Michael Schur. The series aired from September 19, 2016 to January 30, 2020. The series starring Kristen Bell (Eleanor Shellstrop), Ted Danson (Michael), William Jackson Harper (Chidi Anagonye), Jameela Jamil (Tahani Al-Jamil), Manny Jacinto (Jason Mendoza), D’arcy Carden (Janet) shows a story about 4 humans sent to an afterlife utopia that they found out to be a neighbourhood created by a devil to torture them. Upon reaching realization the devil decided to recreate their torture but his plan seems to always fail. The group went through a journey of both mortal and immortal beings and set their differences aside to  bring chnage to the afterlife.
I want to talk about the character development of the lead characters Eleanor and Chidi. On Earth, their personalities are the complete opposite of each other and you would never even imagine them being friends. But in the afterlife, through Eleanor’s desire to be a better person, Chidi, an ethics professor, agreed to teach her and they became close even after a thousand lifetimes. I find this character development very interesting because it really shows the theme of “soulmates” quite literally. There are some points in the show that Eleanor was afraid that Chidi would forget about her when the neighbourhood “resets” but through all trials that the world and the afterlife threw at them, they always seem to come back to each other. One quote that might support this idea is
“If soulmates do exist, they're not found, they're made. People meet, they get a good feeling, and they get to work building a relationship” -Mihael (S4E9).

Conventions of Film Review
AddFILM REVIEW pt.1
Film review is a popular way for critics to assess a film’s overall quality and determine whether or not they think the film is worth recommending. Film reviews are usually online or withing a magazine. However, they can be featured on the radio or the TV channels. Film reviews needs to include title, genre, director, lead actors and year of release. Some of the conventions of film reviews are a synopsis of the movie to let the readers know the general plot of the movie. An iconic image or screenshot of the movie to give a visual aspect and aesthetics of the movie. Discussions of the actors (usually lead actors) or staff (usually directors or producers). Discussion of plots or theme (is it about mental health? or survival? or romance?). The tagline of the film to show off the iconic dialogues of the movie that might support the theme. Lastly, and overall rating.
To conclude, film reviews need to be easy to read and simple but does not give away any spoilers.

“Ode to the Stars”
SONNETS pt.2
My pleasant stars, you inspire me to write. How I love the way you glow and touch, Invading my mind day and through the night, Always dreaming about the pale nonesuch. Let me compare you to a joyful fly. You are more mortal, powerful and warm. Dense drought dries the tense picnics of July, And summertime through the big thunderstorm. How do I love you? Let me count the ways. I love your keen heart, universe and eyes. Writing many nonsense verse fills my days. My love for you is the generous wise. Now I must away with an intense heart, Remember my light words whilst we're apart.

Conventions of Sonnets
SONNETS pt.1
A sonnet is They are 14 lines long, have a regular and strict rhyme (the way words flow) and meter (the regular succession of beats according to a recognizable pattern), usually iambic pentameter (5-by-5). There are 3 types of sonnets:
Shakespearean sonnets have the following rhyme scheme: abab, cdcd, efef, gg. It is divided into three quatrains (a stanza of 4 lines) and one concluding couplet (a verse of 2 lines). The first line in the first quatrain rhymes with the third line and so are the second with the fourth.
Spenserian sonnets, like Shakespearean sonnets, are divided into three quatrains and a couplet. But the rhyme scheme is different; it is abab, bcbc, cdcd, ee.
Petrarch sonnets have two quatrains and two tercets (3 line stanzas rhyming together or connected by rhyme with an adjacent tercet). The rhyme scheme is usually abba, abba, cde, cde.

Because he made me write. Everything that I write about nowadays is about the same thing. Songs, poem and stories. All on how he made me see things through a rose coloured glass.
Because he told me that he loves stories. Especially the ones that I wrote. The story when I fell off my bike and cried. Or that one time when I ran around in the rain and my mother yelled at me to go inside. And he listens every time till he falls asleep. When he does, I told him a story, where we would both get married. But he's asleep, I wonder if he would love that story too.

Maintaining Relationships: Platonic or Romantic during a Pandemic
BLOGS pt.2
What is a relationship? Many might interpret this word as many things. It could be to describe when two people fall in love and date. Or to describe a wide, general term of human connection. Could also be used to describe family relations. The word “relationship” itself is broad. It can be used to describe many things. But amongst mankind, relationships are sometimes taken for granted until you lose them.
Humans are social beings. There’s no surprise to that. We interact with at least one person a day. Having relationships means to have a connection with another person and that’s important for us, almost a must. We depend on each other for many reasons. Moral, emotional, financial and heck even physical sometimes. You can’t tell me a name that hasn’t had a human relationship that also led a happy life. You can’t live totally by yourself; no matter how hard you try. It’s almost impossible.
Human relationships began way back. I learned this in my SAP class last year as part of our anthropology unit. It is not determined when human relationships truly started but relationships can even be identified in animals. Let’s take our ancient ancestors. The apes. Mother and child relationships are already established naturally. The child has to depend on their mother to survive. It’s in our blood.
Relationship is a giant umbrella that can branch out into many forms of other relationships. Like I have mentioned, it’s a broad term and can be applicable to many things. But let’s focus on human relationships. Forms of human relationships can be: Romantic, parasitic, symbiotic, platonic, and dysfunctional. And even after that, those relationships can still branch out into many other forms that serve many and different purposes. I think it’s crazy. It’s like a giant spider web intertwining between billions of spiders that’s us.
In further blogs, I would like to focus more on platonic and romantic relationships. Well, mostly because I have both forms of relationships and would like to share with my fellow peers. I would like to share with whoever has relationships like me on what I do during this hard time. Like I’ve mentioned, sometimes we take our relationships for granted that it’s easy to forget how much they truly mean to us until we can’t see them anymore. I am no relationship expert. Therefore, what I do with my relationships might not work for yours. Which is okay. Every relationship is unique and let’s cherish every one of them even during a pandemic.

Conventions of Blogs
BLOGS pt.1
The term “blog” was first coined somewhere between 1995-2000 as a shortened version for the original word weblog. Blogs have become integrated into our social-media driven modern-day culture. They serve as a platform for a person, or group of people, to discuss topics in a less formal setting. First, a proper structure. Without a set structure, you’ll appear unorganized. The right structure makes your posts readable. Typically a blog has an intro, a body and a conclusions. Second, a blog needs a visual content.  visual content (infographics, videos, slideshows, images) is a crucial feature that can take your blog to the next level. Many readers enjoy visual contents because it helps them understand the theme of the blog even more. Last, a blog needs a clear focus. Readers will be more interested if your contents reflect a constant idea or theme. That way your contents are much easier to keep track of.

“Grow Up”
SLAM POEM pt. 2
When I was 10, I used to think that the year 2020 was not real, because seeing 2020 from 2012 just seemed so distant.
I was so carefree, I didn't care about likes on my recent post. My vision of the future used to be flying cars and hologram people.
Not if I'll have enough to pay for my tuition.
In this year of 2020, I'll turn 18.
Yet I’m not ready. I’m not ready to grow up.
I never realized that my generation share this collective consciousness, that the concept of adulthood seems so bizarre and bottomless.
I am terrified to let your childhood go; to let the world determine my fate, and don't let my feelings show.
This is why I’m scared of growing up.
It feels like I’m stuck in the twenty-first century machine, where I have to perform, give and present, because first-impressions in job interviews are always important.
To live like a robot and to meet the world's expectations to survive, so it feels like my days are getting more stoic; more dormant.
I live in a world where there are racism, sexism and many other -isms. I’m scared that if I go outside too late, by midnight, my mother might not find me home.
This is why I’m scared of growing up. I was taught on how to act, how to dress, and how to breathe.
I see those memes about "okay, boomers" seen on tiktok like a ticking time bomb. That if I don't do the next trend fast enough, I will not be loved.
So likes after likes but I’m still not satisfied, until I reach a hundred, thousand, million followers then I can sleep at night. What is it that I want?
This is why we're scared of growing up.
I am scared to let it go, because my brain have grown accustomed to these identities. This is why I'm scared of growing up.
No matter how hard I try until the sweats on my forehead forms a pool of wasted youth. So at night, I will be “chilling” in my bed with no exact idea who I really am.
And all I can think of is, what's for dinner?
Come on, It's 2020, it's time to grow up.
It's a new decade, and a new era. And yet I still have no idea, what I want to be, who my friends are.
I'll watch my friends and family float away like feathers because if I don't do anything for myself now, I can't do anything for others.
Wake up and stop acting like a cat with nine lives. Wake up and realize that getting your account verified is not the end goal.
Wake up and take a stand.
So it's time to grow up.
Because when the universal countdown is over and you hit the bed once again. Please think to yourself.
Grow up while you still can.

Dear readers,
My name is Natasya Auliana. I’m my last year of high school and in the last year of high school, there are so much emotions I can’t express. Sadness, anxiety, anger, happiness, pride but amongst all, love is the strongest. This is the first feeling I’ve ever felt so strong yet so foreign and I wish to express it through a love letter. As you read through my blog, you can witness how my feelings develop for this special person in my heart. My worries, my thoughts, my fantasy and my dreams; all with love. I love to listen to music and my preferences are versatile, therefore I may include songs that describes my mood in those moments. The way I organize my contents will be through an index at the tags section. I’ll indicate the entry number and the series, a specific content may belong to.
I hope that you’ll enjoy your stay here on my page <3
with endless love,
