-the basics of nail care

i have been very attracted to the pretty setters lately i also find it cute that kageyama is very diligent with taking care of his nails. 

“y/n.” kageyama’s calm voice and hand on your shoulder quickly snapped you out of your thoughts. 

“hmm?” you blinked, trying to drag your eyes away from the screen of your laptop where you were working on a term paper.

“y/n,” kageyama repeated, this time his hand holding onto your wrist. “you’re scratching again.” 

“oh,” you looked down, seeing the red, angry scratches on your forearm that you unconsciously made. as if your nerves were somehow delayed, you felt the sharp sting of pain. “oh dang,” you said under your breath.

both biting your nails and scratching yourself was a nervous habit, something that you did most of the time. and since you did it often, you were unconscious of how jagged your nail edges were getting, or how painful the scratches on your skin were. the only evidence you got was seeing the actual marks afterward.

your boyfriend sighed and sat on the floor near your chair. “you really have to take care of your nails, y/n,” he lectured. you smiled half-heartedly and hugged your arms around your knees.

“it’s fine,” you said. “it doesn’t even hurt that much.” 

“you don’t have to play it off,” he said, taking one of your hands in his and reaching around in his bag. you watched, curious, as he pulled out a small pouch and from there, a pair of nail clippers.

“um, what are you doing?” you asked.

“cutting your nails, obviously,” kageyama answered. “don’t worry, i’ll be gentle.” 

“you don’t have to do that.” 

“i know, but it would be beneficial for you in the long run,” your boyfriend said simply. you felt a smile bloom on your face as kageyama held your hand gently in his while he cut your nails with the clipper. like he promised, he was gentle and even though you hated cutting your nails, you could barely feel the clipper. after he was done with one hand, kageyama reached out for your other hand.

your boyfriend wasn’t one to show affection outright, both because he was new to the whole idea of a relationship and because he just wasn’t an affectionate person. but you loved his attempts: asking about your day once in a while, giving you a carton of your favorite milk while you were studying in the library, carrying an extra hair tie and putting your hair up when he saw that it was bothering your face.

this was just another one of those times. you watched your boyfriend hunched over to file your nails, his bangs falling in front of his face and his eyebrows scrunched slightly in concentration. kageyama probably didn’t understand how much it meant to you for him to do this. 

“all done,” he said, blowing away the dust on your fingernails. he let go of your hand, only for you to interlace your fingers with his. kageyama blinked up at you in confusion.

“thanks, tobio,” you smiled gratefully.

“it’s nothing,” he shrugged, but he couldn’t hide the shy smile that spread on his face. 

“you know it’s not nothing,” you chuckled, stepping out of your chair to sit in your boyfriend’s lap. your boyfriend was feeling quite affectionate because he quickly wrapped his arms around you. 

“you know, i don’t get you sometimes,” kageyama murmured as you felt him stroke your hair absentmindedly. “i get a bit… worried, that i’m not doing enough for you. like, most of my friends do things like regularly take their partners out on dates and everything and i kind of want to do that if it wasn’t for my schedule but… i just do something like this and you’re already really happy about it.”

“is that so?” you hummed, leaning back to brush kageyama’s bangs off his forehead. “well, tobio, i could say the same for you as well. most of the time you don’t even realize how nice or sweet you’re being. like just now.” 

“hmm, maybe communication isn’t our strongest suit,” kageyama’s lips quirked up in a smile as he looked up at you.

“do you mind?” you asked, pressing your forehead against his.

“not too much,” he answered.

Another foreshadowing post

There are a few things I noticed here on this page (it’s from chapter 1):

1.) Yona’s hair has already grown back to its former length. This could very likely be an indicator that the Xing arc won’t be the final one, since she now has shoulder long hair.

2.) Her expression: She doesn’t seem to be very happy here. Could it be that someone important to her has died? Or is it because they’re on the verge of another war? With the possible enemy being the Kai Empire this time?

3.) She’s holding a dragon sword which looks similar to the sword that is shown in some earlier illustrations from Kusanagi-sensei. I don’t think it’s the sword from the prophecy though…

4.) The person who is talking to Yona. I do not think that it is Hak, simply because we can’t see the whole body of the person. Also the clothing is a bit different. I compared it to those of all the other male characters. Well, if it is Hak, he could’ve simply changed his clothes or something. I guess we don’t have to pay much attention to this. But the person is also referring to Yona as “Princess Yona = Yona-hime”. Hak normally uses “hime-san”. So that’s another reason why I don’t think this is Hak. Which leads me to point 5.

5.) It looks like Yona is still a princess here. Which means she hasn’t claimed the throne (yet). So it’s very likely that Yona won’t be the one sitting upon the throne after this arc is over.

6.) Where are the four dragon warriors and Yoon? It doesn’t look like they’re around here. But this could simply be because it’s the first chapter of the series and the author didn’t want to show us all the characters yet…

Another artwork I want to talk about is this one:

As I’ve mentioned before, this is also one of the illustrations where Yona is shown with the dragon sword. And is she wearing the royal robe here? The pattern on it sure looks similar. I also noticed that Hak’s glaive looks a bit different to the one he’s currently using. But the only difference is that it has some nice engravings on it. Also, is Yona wearing a different hairpin? Maybe it’s a present from Hak, because she got rid of the cursed hairpin in the latest chapter.

And the most important thing here is that the three main characters are shown together once again. Which also means that Soo-Won must be alive at this point of the story.

But… We all know that this is just another artwork and therefore it’s also possible that there’s no real meaning behind it.
