it’s been a whilst since i’ve had to face myself in such naked vulnerability and it’s tiring and disappointing to realise that even after all these many days and weeks and months and years, i am still flawed in the very same ways.
so so deeply flawed.
i really don’t know how the people in my life, who have loved me so much, have put up with my inability to root and ground myself.
why am i always scared to leap?
why am i always looking to run?

I need to keep my head above water, but so easily I fall below and there’s just soz many years of pain and loss and memories and regrets. there’s such so much.
I’ve been thinking a lot about m how everyone’s struggle and test in life is different, everyone’s vice is different, and idk I just feel like one of my biggest ones is my heart and all that it has entailed.
I have so much love for so many people, those in my life and those not any longer, and it’s just a lot to hold.

15th Ramadhān
Half-way through in the blink of an eye, and it is sorrowful to feel that i am already losing some of the vigour and determination i had started this blessed month with. although it is a natural pattern of Ramadhān sometimes, and of course our emaan, that there are peaks and dips of energy and closeness to Allaah, but i hope and pray that this half-way point can serve as a signpost; to rectify our intentions, our goals, and to set aright our sails for the blessed journey that remains, in sha Allaah.
May Allaah accept our efforts and ‘ibaadah thus far and grant us the strength, sincerity and ability to continue to gain His forgiveness and Pleasure through the remainder of this month, and for the days that come after. Ya Allaah count us amongst the ones whom you free from the Hell fire and upon whom you bestow Your abundant Favours, without limit.
Allaahumma aameeen

Ten ways to acquire Allāh’s love
First: Recite the Qur’an with reflection, and understand its meaning and what is intended by it.
Second: Draw closer to Allah by performing the supererogatory acts of worship after fulfilling the obligatory acts of worship.
Third: Constantly remember Allah in every situation, with the tongue, the heart and the actions.
Fourth: Give preference to what Allah loves over what you love when being overcome by desires.
Fifth: Contemplate the beautiful names and attributes of Allah with the heart, and roam in the gardens of this knowledge and its fundamental concepts. The one who knows Allah, will inevitably love Him.
Sixth: Observe and recognize His kindness, benevolence, favors, and blessings, those that are hidden and those that are apparant.
Seventh: Completely submit your heart in front of Allah the Exalted.
Eighth: Seclude yourself during the time of the Divine Descent and turn to your Lord, and recite His Speech. Contemplate with the heart and adorn yourself with the manners of a worshipper in front of Him, and conclude all of this by seeking forgiveness and repenting.
Ninth: Accompany those who truly, sincerely love Him. Collect the best fruits of their speech just as one would pick only the best fruits. Remain silent except when you know it will better your condition and benefit others.
Tenth: Stay far away from everything that will come between your heart and Allah the Exalted.

I sincerely hope and pray that Allāh fixes every single one of your problems and the problems of your loved ones. I hope you never forget that He loves you. and I hope you know that you are never alone. may Allāh bring happiness and success to you in this world and the hereafter. never give up on yourself.

If Allah intends good for a servant, He opens up the door to humility and lowliness, perpetually seeking for refuge and dependence upon Him, and feeling in need of Him and the constant watching of his own faults, ignorance and transgression, whereas, at the same time he observes the bounty, kindness, mercy of his Lord upon him and His generosity, benevolence and praise.
So the servant travels to Allah with these two wings, which would not be possible without either of the two, consciousness of his own sins and recognition of Allah's mercy and if at any time he loses either one of them, he would be like a bird that's missing one of it's wings.
Shaykh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah said,
"The servant travels to Allah between recognizing Allahs favors upon him, and constantly searching for his own faults in himself or his actions."
-Al-Wabil As-Sayyib by Imam Ibn Qayyim.
