Louis took his hand and walked him over to the up escalator and felt him squeeze it tightly as he stepped on. And that is how it went, up and down as Louis watched Harry from the seats by the puzzles near Starbucks. He could see Harry as he went up the escalator and down, only to repeat about twenty more times. Louis sighed, because he loves Harry of course he does. So he would put up with this and the amusement that wore off a while ago. Yet for Harry, this newness was still very exciting to him. Louis couldn’t wait to show him Netflix. Wondered if Harry had seen a television. He stood up as Harry neared the floor and walked over to him. “Babe, do you know what a television is?” Louis questioned, reaching for Harry’s hand to keep him from going towards the up escalator. “I’m not a complete idiot, Lou.” Louis could see the glint of Harry’s fangs as he smiled, his hand covering his mouth quickly. “Have you ever watched one?” He tugged Harry to the exit. “No,” Harry said quietly.

Or, Harry finally rejoins a world where everything has changed but the most important thing is exactly the same.

The boy lifted his camera again and snapped another. “D’you know I rather believe you can?” he said, his smile pouring honey into his low voice. “But then what’d you do with me? I’d be banging down your door for months, begging for another night while you’d be moved on to the caterer or the DJ without a second thought.”

“Ah,” Louis said. In those days, tequila agreed with him quite nicely, but even still he was feeling extremely cavalier that night. He reached out and tousled the other boy’s hair, let his hand linger a while. “It’s romance you’re after.”

“M’afraid so,” the boy shrugged, pretending at nonchalance though he was leaning a bit into Louis’ touch.

“Won’t help, I suppose, for me to tell you all that’s a myth?”

The photographer shook his head. “No, I’m still too young and optimistic for good sense, I think.”

“S’a shame,” Louis said, finally to the front of the line. “I would’ve enjoyed making a mess of you.”

The creature's pale hand stroked the blades of grass almost tenderly, gently, loving as if combing the hair of a fragile child, before settling over a handful of calyxes, choosing and plucking another amongst so many.

Daisies, the underside of the petals bright pink in contrast to the innocent white. It reminded him of the creature's lips. They were a delicate cherry blossom rose, though next to his milky skin they seemed to be a vivid red.

Skilled long fingers, spindly, attached the plant's delicate shoot axis naturally like breathing to the ribbon it had woven so far. The ease it gave to the movement gave the boy only a rough idea of how many times he had spent going through it, practicing for hours, carefully picking out the most handsome flowers in the clearing.

As if Louis was barely fazed by a desperate and pliant Harry, who was left plugged and tied up at his mercy. All he could do was just take it, deal with the heady arousal surging through him at being left waiting.
