tail end of a roll I mostly shot at a festival, some nighttime vibes. scenes like these often have me feeling like cinestill’s xx is my favorite B&W stock
1 / 2 - entirely possible that this roll of “jazzy blues” specialty film had the longest-ever tenure in a camera of any roll I’ve shot. I usually blow through 36 frames in less than a week, but this one was chipped away at in my XA for at least six months or so. not an everyday film stock obv, and the metering went wonky on some of these I think, but some pretty neat effects anyway.
hanging at the brewery and such. glancing back at these, I’m feeling acutely aware of how much less comfortable I was using/focusing the collapsible 50 f/2 that came with my IIIf. have since replaced it with the faster/non-collapsible f/1.5, which was really when the whole system clicked for me
my first roll of kodak gold in 120, some overlap and thus some similar vibes to the 35mm from the previous post. releasing this one new & slightly cheaper medium format stock feels like the one generous thing kodak’s done in recent memory...
first roll of color through the leica IIIf, some out-of-production fuji 200 the ebay seller sent with it. this speed film was kind of the sweet spot for this camera before I had the shutter repair done, and I love how that ‘50s glass renders colors. 1 / 3
a mall that’s not quite dying but not quite thriving is a peak liminal space. I love shooting malls and I wonder how long ones like this (i.e. not the super lux rich people ones) are gonna stick around.
1 / 2 - I simply love to photograph a museum. especially one like the MFA that’s labyrinthine enough for me to feel like I end up somewhere new every time
