Watched Dune part 2 the other day so here’s some Stilgar fanart! He certainly was one of the most fascinating characters. Raised to believe in prophecies written by those who orchestrated wars and opressed his people, he ends up having too much hope in his beliefs. So much so he eventually becomes a fanatic.

There was something rather significant about movie. The way it was adapted from the book series from which Ive only read Dune Messiah a few years ago. For this movie, the story was among many other things ,a commentary on religion and how it can be used by the masses in order to manipulate,to be used as a doctrine. A warning about manufactured prophecies ,psychedelics and their role in certain practices and false messianic figures. I have so many things to say about it, but it’s a 10/10 from me.

Calico👹🔗😸🔪 Yeah uh, this took WAY too long to design, in fact it took a week or so only to plan out that short backstory I wrote for him and decide on certain design details.

One important fact about him: remember my last character from the last post? Wasit? I said Wasit found a video going around of an ass@ ssination of a middle eastern group of politicians…? Well yeah, this is who did it unfortunately!

Calico’s philosophy is very hard to define at least for now when i only have core ideas about his character but he is more of a loner and his principles are based on his safety and keeping the system going only if its a benefit for him.

Despite it all, he does have a few morals but he’s not quite reedemable either. He was raised in an abusive environment from a young age in a mormon family then later on completely gave up on his initial beliefs in God. After doing his 2 years of misionary work he joined the us marines or navy (haven’t decited yet) then did in his later life served in the special forces, and eventually opened his iwn pmc by the time of his activity in iraq.

A NEW CHARACTER?? 💥Who’s not part of the Egyptian mythology story (Retribution of the Gods timeline)?! Am I back making operator ocs?!!!?(yes)

I was HEAVILY inspired by The Punisher😭 to make a character like this.. and yeah Wasit was created … now what? Thing is , I don’t really know. I am trying to finish my current project and maybe put a new one together in the meantime. But I can’t get started yet because I still haven’t thought of a good enough plot.

But if I do anything of the sort it will focus on ethics , moral reason and human struggles unlike Retribution that is a story I’ve been developing on the theme of mental health, religion and religious trauma🤔

Anyways here is Wasit’s full backstory:

One of the best assets of the CIA, graduate of an intelligence specialized university program and analyst who served the government. After years of working alongside the CIA to help combating terrorism and securing the country, Rattlesnake (also his online alias)was outed from the federal government for allegedly using unethical methods to obtain information and access documents believed to have been used by political extremists.

His most successful mission was to track down a brotherhood of white supremacists with n z 1st and ary anist ideological influences lead by a former military general and a group of far-right politicians. This mission included the execution of the people involved which initially the CIA were not aware of. This was not done necessarily by him as he hired former PMC members from a certain gun-for-hire network to deal with this part of the operation. Eventually ,the CIA who were still surprised by his excellent performance, granted his immunity in front of the law, no time in prison but they had to fire him. Still, the decision remained to keep an eye on him and now they are sometimes still asking for his help and collaboration.

Currently, he’s been working from an apartment given to him by the CIA in the UK where he often tries

stealing documents from other PMCs, spying on them via camera or operating drones and blackmailing them.

I think Drew has already become one of my favourite characters, even though I haven’t worked on all of his backstory in detail just yet. He is the antagonist of my short book as i’ve previously mentioned and this drawing of him has been sitting in my drafts for a while now . I’ve wanted to finish it after all because now I finally have enough time on my hands.

Anyways I’ve also been listening to the Proclaimers lately which is why I’ve decided that they’re going to be Drew’s favorite band (for no specific reason such as him being scottish )🗣️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿👆

Redrew one of my favourite albums that I’ve had on repeat for 3 years now with my original character, Ace.

This band’s songs always give off a vibe that reminds me of the aesthetics of my story, and i love that a lot of songs by them have references to history and mythology! It’s something so specific about their music that resonates with me! (Also, they’re british🗣️)

I almost finished my short story :))) I still have to fix a lot of plot holes though but I’ll do it after I get my writing programs on my tablet🙏

Also I’m still debating if i should keep the side plot in Lebanon or more it to Egypt cus i have another idea and add a few extra details😃

Ace as a character means a lot to me. He might be just a random british guy from a story I’m writing about ancient egyptian gods ,mercenaries and the british museum but as a girl struggling with an existential crisis , I’ve written this character to resonate with my experiences with seeking knowledge, my views on the absurd concept of life and religion.

He was not meant to end up in the situation where he is, he was not meant to be the avatar of an egyptian deity but he woke up being chosen by Anubis and now there is no turning back.
