Day 4: Emotional Eater
I'm an extremely terrible emotional eater. I eat especially when I'm pissed off so off to the buffet I go when I am in a bad mood. Today wasn't a good day. It's nobody's fault, but mine. I was just extremely moody today. Every little thing seems to tick me off and I don't know why. So, today's diet was also a no progress...
On a better note I restocked on fruits and went up to five cups of water today. Hopefully tomorrow is better.

I also found Epic Music genre... it's friggin awesome.

Day 3: I feel better today
Yesterday was horrible. I could barely have the positive energy to do anything, but I at least still cleaned up my apartment.
Today was better. I woke a bit more refreshed, but I did nothing productive today nor did I eat healthy either. Dieting is hard. It takes a lot of self control and self consciousness/awareness. I'm so used to mindlessly eat and snack whatever I want to eat that I never pay attention to what I put in my body. The whole drinking plenty of water thing is still a struggle too, but I'm working on it. I'm up to 3 cups of water a day now, reduced to only 2 cups of juice, and I'm working on eating more vegetables. All my fruits are gone already (haha) so I'll have to restock on it again. Let's hope the good positive energy transfer into tomorrow too.
P.S. Sorry for not posting any flashy gifs, but I did reach my daily step goal today so here's a photo! I didn't reach my step goal yesterday, but I'll overlook it.

Day 2: On and Off Energy
I woke up this morning with the most motivation-less feeling ever. I felt exhausted as if I wanted to go back to sleep again, but I was also very wide awake to go back to sleep too. The one good thing I did for myself was I uninstalled Facebook the night before so I literally have one whole hour available in the morning to fill in since I usually waste a large one to two hours just lurking on Facebook and sharing memes. Still, it was hard fighting the feeling of wanting to do absolutely nothing because I'm so used to just laying in bed and lazily be on Facebook. It kept me entertained while I just lay there, but this morning I had nothing to do to be lazy. I also uninstalled all my games too, so this experience was very eye opening and I actually had to push myself and force myself to get up to do something.
Tumblr media
I started off my morning with snacking on strawberries, it was all gone by the afternoon and my grapes were already done before I got any, and I spent the morning cleaning up the restroom. Then in the afternoon I spent it cleaning the kitchen, and then spent the evening watching "Step Sisters", "1922", and "V for Vendetta" all the while making horrible diet choices. I didn't go to the gym today so I didn't workout, however, on the plus side I cleaned up the place and got all of that taken care of. For the following day, I'm going to organize my room, so that should help me feel ready to do something for the day later on.
Tumblr media
Finding motivation and trying to get yourself to become motivated is a struggle.....

Day 1: Starting over... Again.
Can I just start over? I literally just screw up and didn't care anymore... But, I'm feeling motivated again.
Tumblr media
Anyway, today wasn't a good start, diet wise, but I still put in some good effort with reaching for my daily step goal. I bought some fruits today such as strawberries, grapes, watermelon slices, and I also got some sweet potatoes. Even though I didn't eat healthy today, I am still proud that I made some better choices by going out to buy 100% apple juice to drink for my sugar cravings instead of soda/pop, and instead of chips I got fruits.
Tumblr media
One step at a time! Back then I wanted to lose weight within months and see results quickly, but now I am open minded and I am patient. I decided to set my goal to lose 80lbs-100lbs two years from this month, and try my best to drink more water since I only drink a cup a day. So, let's try this again! X)
Today's daily step has been successfully completed!

Week 5-6: Fell back again...
Saturday, March 10, 2018; 01:20 A.M. PST
So... I fell back again. Not really the whole working out thing, but more like the eating right thing. I'm practicing hula-hoop, I'm learning how to freestyle swim, and I'm walking minimum 5K steps a day now, but all that is going to waste when I'm not eating healthily.
It's not motivation that I need, but more like a better habit needs to be build. Sometimes I just mindlessly eat or I snack without thinking, and by the time I realized I made a bad choice I didn't feel like fixing it for the rest of the day. It's a bad habit and I am aware of it, but... I don't know... I guess I need to be stricter with myself.
A whole new week begins tomorrow and I still have.... 297 Days, or 42 Weeks, left before 2019 comes, so I can't give up completely. Time to learn some better self control skills!!

Week 2-4: Starting Over
So........ I literally messed up. But... I'm making progress again.
I started swimming for weightloss since February 21, 2018 and I have to say I love it so much that I am actually motivated to continuously come back everyday. Let's see where this goes!
Tumblr media
P.S. I also bought a hula hoop too. :D

Day 8-9: Progress..?!
It might just be water weight, but I'm down 6 lbs from my 200 lb weight!! I'M EXTREMELY HAPPY!!
Tumblr media
Day 8 was awesome. I woke up refreshed and happy! I worked out, ate right for the most part, and took real good care of myself. I felt confident and beautiful all of a sudden.
Amazing.
Tumblr media
On day 9, I slacked off a bit and was distracted. I had chores and errands to complete that day, and even though I didn't eat right I didn't feel like punching my gut for it. I feel really good and happy. But ya know what happened next that skyrocketed my mood to the sky?? I checked my weight and I WAS DOWN 6 LBS IN 9 DAYS!!! It might be water weight for the most part, but I feel like I did make small progress! My pants FITS me again and I got them when I was at 180 lbs.
Now, I am 196 lbs and I am aiming to drop down to 180 by March 17, 2018.

Day 4-7: No Progress...
It's not so much that I haven't seen any progress... You can't see what you haven't made.
Honestly, things felt very depressing for a while. On day 5 things started to look a whole lot better. I was happy and lots of motivation kicked back into me. But, day 6 reminded me that everything was just cooling down. It's not over, and while I can still enjoy my moment of happiness, I should be aware and cautious of what might come ahead...
Day 7 started well too, but I decided to use it as a resting day since I was emotionally and mentally exhausted, and just needed some time to be lazy. Everything was great as I was getting back to making sure I don't lose sight of my goal, but then I got called in to work early and because I needed the hours I agreed to come in to work early. It's good news because I have more hours now and I'm finally out of the 20 hours weekly schedule, but bad because it completely threw me off my plan for the day. I became overwhelmed with mixed feelings and ate more junk food as a terrible coping method.....
But...I'm feeling positive. I'm feeling better now and even after I messed up I didn't feel completely depressed about it. My hopes are still up high and I'm not giving up either. Today was a mess, but I know I can do this. I know I can overcome all these mixed emotions and unexpected obstacles.
I'm not giving up. I can't and I shouldn't.

I'm no shinobi, but... It's motivational. XD

Day 2-3: Feeling Emotional
These last 2 days were a struggle. I fell back hard. I mindlessly ate my emotions away and ate a lot of junk comfort food that doesn't really comfort me... Hopefully, it'll be better tomorrow...

Day 1: Dieting Sucks
Tumblr media
Today, I messed up already. It started out well at first because I filled half of my plate with vegetables, I drank 1 cup of water first before eating, I finished a second cup while eating, I tried my best to eat slowly, and I finished my vegetables first to fill me up...
...Yet, I still feel I can have some more. I have a big appetite...
Tumblr media
So, I followed the second step: do something you enjoy to avoid or forget cravings or overeating.
.....But, I didn't feel like doing anything today..... Instead, I feel sluggish. I feel lazy. Nothing seems appealing to me, and I also didn't want to leave my apartment. I laid down for a bit and watch youtube, but my boredom was getting to me.
Tumblr media
Eventually, I gave in and binge ate a whole bunch of junk food like half a bag of regular size Takis, half a bag of regular size Lays, two cupcakes, and drank some almond milk. If this wasn't bad enough then I also have a confession to make... I was becoming a bulimic. All the guilt from ruining my first day upsets me so much that after binge eating I went to the restroom and threw it all out..... Still, even though I messed up today it doesn't mean I have to give up yet. I just have to continue and take it one step at a time.
So, a new day has begun and I'm back at ground one. I will do it correctly this time. Come on! I can do this!!

#Motivation #GOAL
What I learnt after losing 20kg in 3 months
Tumblr media
1. It always starts on a high note but the key thing is to keep it going.
You see someone losing a lot of weight and suddenly you are so inspired and pumped to reach your ideal weight, or you realise that you have put on a significant amount of weight and decide to crash diet. It could even be for an upcoming important event. Usually this inspiration will last for a week or two, after which you start to give yourself a little more allowance, this is where most people fall back to where they were. It happened to me countless times.
You have to want it bad enough.
Tumblr media
2. You have to be consistent.
Losing weight is hard af, but the important thing is to be consistent. This is what I did:
Tumblr media
- take weekly progress photos (whenever I see how my body changes week by week I’m motivated to push on)
- weigh in weekly (I know how easy it is to be obsessed with the scale)
- follow inspiring people (this helps you more than you think)
- whenever I feel lazy to work out, which happens almost every single day, I tell myself this: ‘if you get out there and do what you have to for 30mins, you are one step closer to your goal. If not, the time will pass anyway even if you’re scrolling through Facebook.’
3. Workout
I started with swimming because it was the easiest. You don’t sweat as much, it’s easy on your knees, and it burns a shit load of calories.
Tumblr media
After some time, I switched over from swimming to cycling HIIT on my stationary bike. After which I started doing blogilates’s PIIT28, and started hitting the gym after that.
What I’m trying to say is, change up your activities once in a while! Add some variation to your workout by keeping things interesting and you will look forward to it.
My best friend got me out of my comfort zone. I have been so unfit all my life that I wasn’t able to complete even a 2.4km jog. She dragged me along for a run and I fell in love with jogging. To be fair it happened about 6 weeks after I started working out.
Tumblr media
It doesn’t get easier, you just get better!
You only need 30mins a day to complete your daily workout. Choose one workout, be it jogging or HIIT, and just do it!
No matter how tired I am, I make sure to get my 30mins in. Sometimes I impress myself with my determination.
Tumblr media
4. Moral support
You’re committed to your goals and are working hard towards it. We all know it gets lonely sometimes. Motivate a friend to do the same! Motivate each other when things get tough or the scale is not budging. I’m lucky to have my BFF on this journey together with me.
Tumblr media
Even for those who discourage you or those who once called you fat, you got to have the fire in you to make a change and prove them wrong!
Tumblr media
Do it for yourself, your love ones. I know you can. I have fallen off the wagon many times too. But the lower you fall, the higher you will fly. Believe in yourself. I promise you, once you start believing, everything will fall in place. There will not be success without failure. You will get there sunshine. One day you will shine. You just got to start believing in yourself and start working damn hard towards your goal.
Old saying but pushes me a lot:  it’s never going to be easy but it’s going to be SO worth it.
Tumblr media
5. You didn’t gain it overnight, don’t expect to lose it in a month.
Tumblr media
Don’t be demoralised just because people ain’t noticing the changes. Don’t beat yourself up.
I gave myself 6 months to reach my goal weight. 7kg more to go! Yay!
6: Your boobs/butt will shrink, there might be loose skins/ stretchmarks if you lose weight too fast.
What I did for boobs and butt:
Do planks and squats every day. Yes every day. It helps firms your boobs and squats give your flat booty a lift.
Tumblr media
I learnt this the hard way. Losing 50kg in a year 2 years ago definitely tested my skin’s elasticity. I researched ways to reduce the appearance of stretch marks since the only way you eliminate them is through a laser surgery.
Loose skins and stretchmarks are tricky. I tried everything so I can’t pinpoint what worked and what didn’t.  But it reduced the appearance of stretchmarks and my skin doesn’t look too loose either.
What I did:
- Drink lots of water (it really works!)
- Dry brushing
- Body scrubs (if you ask me I would say coffee scrub, I didn’t start selling it for no reason)
- Bio oil
- Clarins body tonic oil
- Weight training/resistance training
7. Relationship with food
Many asked me what meal plans do I follow or do I have certain calorie restrictions.
I have to clarify that I’m not going for a hot lean body hence this method might not work for you if you are going for that.
Tumblr media
I do not follow any specific meal plans. I did many times in the past and tried countless meal plans including Herbal life, natroslim or even master cleanse diet. I’m not saying that all these doesn’t work, they do. You will see yourself losing weight, but it isn’t sustainable.
Tumblr media
I eat whatever I want now but I control the portions strictly. I cut out sugar drinks too. Don’t underestimate the calories you are taking in as well, it could be the reason why you are not seeing results.
Learn to say no when being offered food (who does that?!). It’s not easy to say no to the piece of chocolate your best friend got for you, but it’s even harder burning it off later during your workout. If you didn’t plan to eat it, don’t. Save it for another day.
There are days when I have peanut butter toast in the morning, fish soup for lunch and economic rice without any rice (just the meat and vege side dishes) for dinner.
But there will also be days where I crave fried chicken. I order them without sides and go without sugar drinks.
Sometimes I live on ban mian (Singapore-style noodles with mince pork soup) without finishing the noodles. Or some days I have fruits before going to bed.
I try to keep my calorie intake within 1500. I don’t feel starved at all and I eat whatever I want in moderation. It keeps me content to keep going.
You are what you eat. If you know the food you are craving for is unhealthy, have it in small amounts. We all know what happens when we over indulge. A healthy journey consists of 80% diet and 20% exercise.
Food that will help you in your journey:
- Water, just drink enough water.
- Unsweetened green tea, yes you’ve heard this 2 million times. But it works.
- Fruits: Papayas, Watermelons, Apples, Bananas, Lemons and Kiwis.
- Needless to say lots of vegetables
Try new recipes like cauliflower rice. Or replace potato chips with kale chips.
There won’t be any food to avoid in my list because I genuinely believe in moderation.
8. Curbing cravings
You just had dinner but you are craving for dessert. We all know it’s not acceptable to do it every day.
Tumblr media
I’d go for a jog if I were you. The cravings for unhealthy food usually subside after a run. You’ll burn 150 calories with 30 minutes of jogging, but it takes 1 serving of potato chips to gain it back. Is it worth it? You be the judge.
If not I’ll find an alternative like yogurt or fruits to curb the cravings.
The last method is to take off your clothes in front of the mirror and stare at your body. Tell me if you still want that tiramisu after that.
Many times we eat not because we need it but because we want it. A treat is only a treat if you have it once in a while.
9. Shitty days
Tumblr media
Just recently I broke down and cried just because I felt fat. I felt like the ugliest/biggest girl in the world and I just wanted to hide away from the world. There will be days where you feel like shit and nothing you do makes sense to you.
I allowed myself to cry and tell myself that I’m not good enough.
Sometimes we have to embrace our emotions instead of hiding them. Only when we acknowledge what we are feeling, will we be able to fix what’s really broken inside.
After my emotional battle, I pick myself up and continue whatever I was doing. I fixed what was going on inside and stayed focused. People around me saw results. I saw my results. I deserved every single bit of it because I worked hard for it.
Tumblr media
Happiness is a choice. You are how you feel about yourself.
Don’t give up on something just because of the time or the difficulty to achieve it. The time will pass anyway. If you don’t work on yourself, who’s going to do it.
I learnt to love myself for every stretchmark, cellulite and scar that’s on me. At the same time, I do my best to be a better version of myself.
10. Take a break If you are tired, not quit.
Lastly, regardless how many times you fail, as long as you get up and try again, you will succeed in the end.
Tumblr media
Getting healthy is not a quick fix, it’s a lifestyle. There will be days you feel like eating fast food and not working out. But as long as you get back on your feet the next day, I promise that everything will work out.
Tumblr media
Never ever give up on yourself and your body, because you are the only one living in it.
Tumblr media
Hope this helps!! Happy 2017! Keep on rocking! :) Let’s embrace 2017 together and achieve whatever you need to acheive!

Onigirazu is similar to Onigiri (a rice ball) in the ingredients, but Onigirazu is a kind of sandwich made of squarely pressed rice and wrapped with Nori seaweed, though Onigiri is made by pressing and squeezing lightly the rice with hands.
I use a tool to press the rice and the tool really makes it easier and fun to make Onigirazu. Why don’t you try it?
