Hello, I was wondering how to run the Stalliongrad demo. I've got a mac, which isn't by default able to open .rar archives. Is this why I must download RPGVX Ace ? Or can Stalliongrad be accessed from the man game Demo, the one which was uploaded in December ? Thanks for your help, and congratulations on your fantastic work !
Hi there!
The bad news is that the Stalliongrad demo isn’t Mac compatible and RPGVX Ace is a Windows only program. There’s not really any way for OSX to run it without running a virtual machine or using bootcamp.
The good news is that the next release will be Mac compatible.
Thanks for your continued interest! It makes us super happy to see.

Sincerest Apologies
I’m really sorry to be making this post, but we ought to keep you guys updated. Unfortunately, some unexpected occurrences on the part of multiple team members means we’re going to have to be pushing this demo back again. New jobs, moving, and sudden increases in workload have multiple people on the team overburdened, and we just aren’t able to deliver the level of quality you guys deserve.
Because of the unexpected delays, I’m not going to make another hard promise until everyone on the team is in the clear again, just know that this thing is coming. While some of us have been very busy, others have been working diligently to make sure the upcoming demo is as polished as possible.
Thanks again for your patience!

New Stuff For a New Year
Hey everyone! Sorry for the prolonged silence, but we’re back to let you know that the project is still alive and going, and with increasing focus. While the tumblr has fell silent, the team have been working in the shadows, preparing our next major update. And along those lines, we’ve got some bad news and some good news. The bad news is that, while we had planned to release a demo by the start of the new year, major computer failures on the part of multiple team members have stalled this for a few more weeks. The good news, though, is that a new demo is coming in a few weeks! And this one will be bigger and better than all of the previous demos we’ve released, to give you a stronger sense of how the entire game will feel (that’s not to say it is even close to the final product, however, there is still a wealth of content we have yet to develop). Barring any more unavoidable delays, you guys can expect this demo to come out by the beginning of February.
In the meantime, though, we’ve got some videos to keep you held over! These are a little late, but both a Let’s Play of our third demo by our friend Acleus, and the Bronycon 2016 panel are now online! Check both of them out below!

Hey there everyone! A little update on the demo!
If you haven’t downloaded a previous version of this or a different RPG Maker VX Ace game, you may need to download the Run Time Package at http://www.rpgmakerweb.com/download/additional/run-time-packages
(You can click the link below the form if you don’t want to be part of the mailing list)
Sorry for anyone who ran into issues because of this!
It’s Demo Time!
Many of you have been patiently waiting since we announced our upcoming demo shortly after BronyCon 2016. Well, we’re pleased to tell you that it’s finally here! You can download the Stalliongrad (Solar Empire) at the link below!
https://www.dropbox.com/s/184y0arjgez58o0/Stalliongrad%20Demo.rar?dl=0
There are a few known bugs still in there, but this is the last demo we are releasing on the old engine and figuring out those bugs for an outdated version of the game would be redundant. This demo should be playable on both PC and Mac, and another one may be on it’s way later this year! We also want to thank anyone who went to our Nightmare Nights Dallas panel. There were a number of confusions and complications, including no announcement on here, but everyone who went was awesome to talk to! Also, if you are attending Ponyville Ciderfest, there will be another panel there on Saturday at noon. Stop on by for info about the game, as well as a Q&A!

What are the main ideological differences between the New Lunar Republic and the Solar Empire?
There are a lot of ideological differences between the two, and to further complicate things, members of both factions use the war and their faction to support their own beliefs. The core difference that causes the split is a question of defense: the New Lunar Republic believes that Equestria needs a more proactive line of defense, and proposes forming a militia to do this. The Solar Empire believes that doing so will give the impression that Equestria is an aggressive and militaristic nation, and wants to continue and resolve things the way they have been.
On top of these initial differences, other shared political beliefs separate the divide between the two. The New Lunar Republic is more focused on the well being of the populace and shared rights, but lacks dedicated governmental figures other than the princesses. The Solar Empire supports the upper class more heavily, but as a result their government is more structured and secure. These, along with a host of other individual differences, are what cause the two factions to split and eventually go to war.

Spontaneous Official Game Stream!
So, completely by impulse, about half of the current team decided to livestream working on the game! We have no idea how long this is going to go on for or why we even started, but you can join at https://picarto.tv/GremlinGrenade if you’d like to see the game in development, ask any questions, or just hang out with the devs!

can we capture towns and cites?
In the early game your command is limited to a few soldiers, but as time passes, you will increase in prestige and rank, and towards the end of the game commanding large portions of your faction’s army to capture territories across Equestria will be possible. Doing so will effect a number of things in the overall game, including possibly influencing the ending...

Will we get a choice on our gender?
Currently, no. Making a male version of the main character involves making a lot of art assets that we don’t have time for right now, as do any visual aspects of character creation, and we’ve begun work on parts of the story that require the main character to be female.

We’ve got yet another great let’s play of the Hearth’s Warming demo by DM-PON3000! This one is just under an hour long, but it’s a great video and we really appreciate it!

How do you feel about folks let's playing or making a video in general of the demo on Youtube?
We love it! In fact, if you plan on making anything of that sort, let us know and we’ll feature it here on the official tumblr!

So, I spotted this a little late (again), but I thought I’d give a shout out to Acleus for his let’s play of our Hearth’s Warming demo! For anyone giving this a watch, there is some language content, but overall it’s a cool video and we appreciate the effort!
On that note, if any of you have let’s plays, reviews, or any other sort of fan content related to the game, let us know! We’ll give you a public shout out just like this one!

Thanks for Coming!
To everyone who attended the panel at BronyCon 2016, thank you for being there! It was great to see each and every one of you! And for those of you who couldn’t make it, we missed you dearly and hope to see you in the future! For anyone who was not at our panel, it was recorded and should be available on YouTube sometime later this year, but for now, we have the result of our character naming contest! And the winning name is… Enpassant! This name was submitted in reference to the chess move, and was voted on by the panel attendees. Thank you all again for coming, and expect more updates to come!

BronyCon 2016!
Hey everyone! Sorry about the very slow update, we’ve all crawled into our little development holes as we got ready for our upcoming BronyCon panel! And in that regards, we have two very important announcements:
Tumblr media
First of all, for anyone looking forward to the panel, we will be presenting on Saturday at 10:30 pm. Sorry it’s so late, but if you’re there we promise to show you a good time!
For anyone attending the con, though, we have one other very special event...
Tumblr media
You see, this guy has been a planned character for the game for a long time, a strategist that joins the player’s army when going down the New Lunar Republic path. Why doesn’t he have a monthly character feature, any previous showings or any other mention here on the blog? Because he doesn’t have a name! Quite frankly, we’re not the best at coming up with names, and anything we could think of didn’t seem just right. So, we’re going to do something special for him: we’re going to let you guys name him. At BronyCon, we will have strips and a hat for people to submit name ideas (sending an ask with a suggestion on here will also be okay), located at Silfoe and AssasinMonkey’s booth at the vendor hall, and, before the panel, we will pick our three favorites. Then, during the panel, we will have you, the fans, vote on your favorite of those, and that will be his name! It’s the least we can do to let our fans have a hoof in shaping the game’s future, and making sure it’s the best experience possible.
For anyone at the convention, we look forward to seeing you! And to anyone who won’t be there, we’ll miss you, and look forward to a recording of the panel!
