Haven’t looked at this in a while. Not sure if all these movies are still available on all these platforms but the movie titles are still good!
I’m adding a movie that I love though.
Disney+
McFarland USA - A wholesome dramatic movie based on a true story about a Mexican cross country team in California coached by a white ex-football coach.
Some things that keeps me motivated is watching running/health movies/documentaries.
Most of the running movies I watch are from Amazon Prime but there are some nice ones on Netflix too and Hulu just has the one lol.
Amazon Prime:
Running for Jim (2013)- A doc about a cross country coach with Lou Gerig’s disease named Jim Tracy and his team.
Brittany Runs a Marathon (2019)- A movie, based on true events, about a woman named Brittany who finds a better life through running.
From Fat to Finish Line (2015)- A doc about a team of people who fell in love with running on their journey to lose weight and are running a Ragnar race.
Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead (2010)- A doc about a man named Joe Cross who goes on a juice fast for 60 days in an attempt to cure his illnesses.
Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead 2 (2014)- A doc about Joe Cross and his journey to finding out how to make healthy habits last a lifetime.
Rxrun (2018)- A doc about a therapist named Dan McGann and his group of young runners and the connection between running and mental health.
Run For Your Life (2017)- A show about 16 women, lead by Gareth ‘Alfie’ Thomas, and their journey to running a half marathon.
The Barkley Marathons: The Race That Eats It’s Young (2015)- A doc about an ultramarathon and a few runner’s attempt to complete it.
Overcoming Depression: Mind Over Marathon (2018)- A 2 episode doc about a group of people working to run a race while attempting to overcome mental health issues.
Skid Row Marathon (2019) rent for $4.99- A doc about a judge in California that leads a running group for criminals/felons seeking rehabilitation.
Netflix:
I Am Bolt (2016)- A doc about Usain Bolt and his journey to gold medals.
1 Mile To You (2017)- A movie about a high schooler who runs to overcome a traumatic accident.
Bringing Sexy Back (2015)- A show about people working to get fitter.
Strong (2016)- A reality show about women working to get fitter while competing against each other.
The Redeemed and the Dominant (2017)- A doc about the CrossFit Games.
Hulu:
My 600lb Life (2012)- A docuseries about people who are 600lbs+ who work to get surgery to live healthier lives.
As you can see most of the good movies and documentaries are on Amazon Prime but these are just the movies and shows I watch and rewatch to get me mentally ready to work out. I like watching people get better while running or just working out because it gives me motivation that I can do it too.
I think it’s important to have what you see on TV and social media to be positive. It’s important to surround yourself with what you want to be.

I have not been on tumblr in about two years but I have a huge life update!
April of 2022 I started Let’s Run Slow. I became a certified running coach to coach and make custom run programs for people that are slow, plus size, out of shape, sedentary, and anything in between. My goal is to get everybody moving their body and to find joy in running! Running does not have to be this awful activity where you can’t breathe and you’re hating life the entire time. It can be fun when you don’t put so much pressure on it.
One of my favorite things to do when running is walk! I absolutely love embracing walking when I make a run program for someone. Taking walk breaks enables you to go so much longer and it helps build up your endurance quickly! If your goal is to run for 30 minutes, you can practice running for 2 minutes and walking for 1min and repeat that 15 times. Slowly tweaking your interval as you complete workouts will get you used to running for longer and you’ll be able to reach your goals in no time!
Being a running coach is my absolute dream job and if anybody on here wants to be coached I want to give a discount to all of my tumblr family since a lot of you encouraged me to get certified when I was thinking about it. I offer $35 30min sessions but for the tumblr fam I’ll put that down to $25 for a 30 minute session. The session can be over the phone, Zoom, or even texting!
A session can be us making a run program for you, you asking me any running questions, finding the best run/walk interval for you, or anything else running related you might be curious about!
On another note…
I got married!!! My boyfriend that I’ve had for 7 years finally proposed to me last October and we got married officially in January! We are so much more in love and I can’t wait to see how our life evolves.
He has fully integrated into my running life too and he has helped me a lot on the business end of Let’s Run Slow and he has done so many races with me this year! I’m going to have to make another post about all of my races because there’s been a lot! So look out for that post :)

I JUST PASSED MY TEST TO BECOME A CERTIFIED RUNNING COACH!!!!
SOOOOO
I am thinking about becoming certified as a running coach?
I have been thinking about this for around 2 years now but I have been so on the fence! I really want to help other people become good runners and I want to create plans for people and I want to coach! I also have a TON of experience running!
The thing is though… I am not a consistent runner. I am very overweight and I feel like it would be ridiculous if I was a coach. I don’t think people would take me seriously or want to be coached by me because if I can’t even coach myself, how can they expect good results?
Even if I can’t follow a plan well, I know that there are a ton of people that can! I feel like I have a lot of fun knowledge and I could really help people.
What do you guys think?

I am finally working on moving more and moving even when I have the option of not moving.
If there is a day where I have my car and I work a 20 minute walk from home, I normally just drive. Or I have my partner drive me. Lat Thursday, I walked to and from work AND I ran after work!
My partner told me that he wants to start running for 30 minutes every day after work. I decided that every day that he runs, I am going to do a mile. I will do a mile until I can run one fully and then I will start pushing for 1.5 miles and then my goal at the moment is 2 miles.
I also want to try to track how long I can run once my mind starts saying that I need to stop. I had a stopwatch on and as soon as I started saying “I need to stop” I started the stopwatch. I ran for a 48s and I feel a little proud for that. I am going to try to focus on how much I can push myself once my mind wants to stop.
I really want to try to do the run 1 mile a day challenge but I also want to do something sustainable that I can incorporate into my day. I definitely have the time in my day to do a mile and shower and everything but I think that I am just hesitant to put that much effort in. I think I am just going to have to push myself to go out for a run right around when I wake up.
In 2022, I am going to put more effort into myself. More effort into my diet and more effort into my passions.

2022 running challenge ~!
Made my yours truly for anyone looking to start this year
Step 1 -
write your goals. Don't set a date, just a goal. Best to only have 1 goal and 1 value in it. For example, complete a 4 mile run. It might feel bad if you aim too high and set something like complete a 4 mile run in 45 minutes. If your new to running, I recommended flipping this and setting a time to run as a goal rather than a distance.
Step 2 -
Create smaller goals that will help, like running a few times a week, for smaller goals, don't set limits and allow yourself to get comfortable
Step 3 -
Make it easy. Find ways to achieve these goals in the easiest way possible because nobody runs on motivation alone. If you prefer to run indoors, look into gym memberships, or if you struggle to make yourself leave the house, try setting out clothes the night before.
Step 4 -
Step 4 is all mindset. If you want to run, you have to take action and the sooner you take it the sooner you achieve your goals.
Something I learned that have me a new perspective was, the longer you procrastinate, the less likely you are to do something. So if you want to start, start today. If it's 10pm, alright fair enough but start tomorrow or whenever you next have time. Figure out what's going to work for you now or its going to be much harder later.
And step 5 ? That's taking the action.
I did a running thread because that's what I'm used to, but this all applies much in the same way to anything, so whatever your goals, best of luck. Let me know if you achieve them :)
I can do smaller challenges for everyone each week if anyone is interested, but I'm aware not everyone wants to start running, I believe high school demonised it :( but nevertheless, I hope one person reads this is interested because running is really cool trust me ~

Happy New Years!!
My official New Years Resolutions are
Only eat out once a week
Journal for 10 minutes every day
Stretch for 5 minutes in the morning
Do at least one art piece a month
Have half as much debt as I do now by the end of the year
I feel like this year I am going to focus on putting more effort in for myself. I want to try harder to do the things that I love. I also want to be a better me and not feel like I am stuck.
