Instant LODs Script Tutorial!
Hi guys!! I know I'm a little MIA right now so I'm very sorry if you've messaged me and haven't gotten a response yet, I've got a bit of a big project going on right now which I'll be able to announce soon, and then I want to overhaul my downloads page (I haven't been able to edit it for a while because of Tumblr's javascript thing so I have to remake it 🫠) and organize commission requests better.
For now though I finally made the video tutorial for the Instant LODs script that I promised a while ago! You can download the script here, let me know if you have any questions/problems!

Hi! So you know the feature (in TS4) that allows us to have Sims take off their shoes (or wear slippers) indoors? I was wondering if some of that coding could be adapted into a simple Sim-click interaction to remove/put back on a Sim's shoes on the fly (that can be used on any Sim in the world, not just your own). Would you be able/willing to look into that? I think it would be much more realistic if not all Sims are running around inside without shoes, all the time. Thanks in advance!
Hi there. The coding could very well be repurposed for the use you describe but it's unfortuntely outside of my abilities. MizoreYukii has a very similar mod for hats and gloves, and while I realise this isn't what you're looking for, it might be worth while seeing if she is open to the suggestion of adding that ability for shoes as well. Time for a new Mini Mod!
This one corrects an inconsistency in text strings when the game refers to heatwaves. I couldn't find any concensus on if it should be one word or two so there are two package files in the ZIP folder for each so that you can choose. ONLY INSTALL ONE.
As this is only a Mini Mod, it can be found on my patreon page instead of MTS.

Warning: Re. supposed Cult Mod update
Someone claiming to be PimpMySims4 uploaded a mod claiming to be an updated Cult Mod to Mod the Sims. If you downloaded it before it was removed, delete it and run a virus scan. The mod, posted by a new account and on none of the original creator’s locations, is an extremely outdated version, and it includes a script mod that will download and run an .exe file of unknown purpose. Many thanks to Kuttoe for the research on this, and for posting details on Sims After Dark. And folks... if a creator seems to turn up with a new version of their mod but doesn't show up on any of their original socials (their Patreon, their Discord server, their Twitter/X, their Tumblr...) please be suspicious!

Any TSRW Experts in the House?
I'm not sure when this issue first arose as it's been a while since I've attempted to clone any TS3 CAS content with TSR Workshop, but the program will crash 100% of time if I select any of the CAS options. It still seems to run fine when selecting the Object options.
The window which shows the list of content will open and it shows the loading bar but then hangs before shutting down. It seems to crash quicker if I make any attempt to move the mouse cursor.
If I try to import an existing CAS package, it will open but all textures are missing.
Does anyone have a solution or any idea that I could try to fix this? I've already run a program repair as well as completely uninstalling and reinstalling the program.

City Living Box o' Junk Spawner
This package adds a purchasable version of the City Living Box o' Junk spawner which will spawn boxes that Sims are able to rummage through to look for collectible snow globes and other random small items.
Great for placing around worlds other than San Myshuno, such as Del Sol Valley.

How To: Auto Height for Shoes

Haiii! As promised, here is the tutorial to make it so your custom shoes no longer require a shoe slider!
Thank you to the bestie who took the time to pick through Madlen's package file to figure out how it worked. And of course, thank you to Madlen who did the majority of the work figuring out how to make this possible in the first place!

Set Up Your Blend File:
We're going to add a plane that will act as the mesh for the SlotRay which will allow for you to adjust the height of your shoes!
Open your blend file that contains the shoes your wish to adjust. In the 3D View, press Shift + S and in the menu, select “Cursor to Center” In the 3D View, press Shift + A and in the menu, hover over “Mesh” then add a plane.
Now size this plane down as small as you can get it. You don’t want this plane visible in game.
Double check to make sure the plane has not moved from the center!! Your sim won't be centered in game if it has! If you see that it's moved:
Press "Shift + S" and click "Cursor to Center".
Then Select your plane and press "Ctrl + Shift + Alt + C", click "Origin to 3D Cursor".
Press "Ctrl + Shift + Alt + C" again and click "Geometry to Origin".
Navigate to the “Object data” tab and under “UV Maps” add a new one then name it “uv_0”.
Next, navigate to the “Scene” tab and under “S4Studio CAS Tools” set the cut number.
Depending on how many cuts your shoes have, you’ll want to adjust this number. For example, if your shoe has 3 cuts (0000, 0001, 0002) then this plane would have a cut number of 0003. Since my boots only have one cut, I will put the number as 0001. Now select your shoes and enter Edit mode. Select a face/vertice/edge on the very bottom of your shoes. Look to the panel on the left side of the screen (if it’s not open, press “N”). Under “Transform”, note down the number next to “Z” After that, save your blend file under another name so you can distinguish which is which. I’ll name mine “Boots_3_Height Cut”

Add a New Cut to your Package File:
We're going to add an additional cut in your package file for the new plane!
Open Sims 4 Studio, make a new package file for your shoes and import them. Go to the Warehouse tab and select your LOD 0, it will be the geometry with the largest file size. Sometimes you have to close then reopen the package to see the geometry. Duplicate this geometry and in the box that pops up, change the last character of the “Group”. It can be any number or letter as long as it’s not the same as the duplicated geometry. On the duplicated geometry, note down the Group, Instance & Type values. Find the “Region Map” and next to “Entries” click “Edit Items”. Add a new entry and in the “Layer” box, type the number you used for your cut. Since I used the cut number 0001, I will type 1. Keep the “Region Type” as “Base” and move to “Models” then click “Edit Items”. Add a new Model entry and paste the Group, Instance & Type values you noted down before. Save and close each box. Find your “CAS Part”, this is your swatch.
If you have additional swatches, it is a good idea to remove them and add them back once you are finished with this process.
Scroll down until you find the “Lods”.
Click “Level: 0” and next to "LOD Models", click “Edit Items”. Add a new entry and paste the Group, Instance & Type values again. Save & close each window and return to the Warehouse.

Adjusting SlotRays:
We are now going to edit the SlotRays for the new cut which will adjust the height of the sim for your shoes!
Return to the new duplicated Geometry and in the “Data” tab, find the “SlotRay Intersections” and click “Edit Items”. Add a new entry and find the “OffsetFromIntersectionsOs” box.
You'll want to change ONLY the middle coordinate number. That will be the height of the sim.
You want to take the “Z” coordinate that you noted down from blender and replace middle coordinate number.  If the number you wrote down is negative (i.e -0.01234) make it positive (i.e 0.01234).
In the “SlotHash” box, change the value from “00000000” to “FEAE6981”. This is the hash for the b__ROOT__ bone in the Sim's Rig.
Save and close the dialogs then return to the warehouse. Next, reimport your mesh and save your package file. You can now test your shoes in game!

Please keep in mind:
You have to do this for every LOD of your mesh
You can freely replace the mesh of your shoes and adjust the height since the cut with the plane has the SlotRay data
Animations may be off since EA hasn't made the game to support taller sims
CAS windows may move slightly if your sim is using poses/animations where they are leaning to the side. This won't affect gameplay
I recommend using Helgatisha's Stand Still in CAS mod to make sure your sim is absolutely centered

Following on from my Neonis Foosball Table conversion, I am now here to offer up a conversion of the Flippity Flop Foosball Table by GoTeamGo from University Life. Like the Neonis table, this one also glows, and in multiple colours!
It costs 625 simoleons and can be found under the Activities and Skills > Recreation sort. It comes available in the 5 original swatches plus an additional 4 swatches without the stencils. It features a custom Snow Map to prevent snow from filling the ball return slots or completely filling the goals.

Functional Library Skill Encyclopedias
Have you ever noticed how the Libraries in the Base Game are the only ones to be stocked with skill books? If so, you're not going mad. Base Game Libraries feature Debug bookshelves that cannot be purchased from the catalogue in normal gameplay that feature their own unique tuning so that they come pre-stocked with level-one skill books.
This new set of books will allow you to decorate your Libraries as you please and, so long as you include at least one of these in your build, your Libraries will be automatically stocked with one of every level-one skill book available in game*.

The Sims 4 Mod: Fixed Interior Decorator Career
As of this post, the Interior Decorator career from Dream Home Decorator has a significant bug that makes it unplayable, where upon completing a gig, there will be a LastException, no popup, and worst of all, your Sim won't gain any performance/reputation or get promoted.
This mod fixes the issue, allowing you to play the career once again!
Additionally, this fixes a minor issue with both the Interior Decorator and Actor careers where they would show as rabbithole careers in the Find a Job dialog.

TS3>TS4 Mad Llama Foosball Table
I occurred to me while I was working on my Windenburg map Replacement that we only have the one foosball table from Get Together in the game, even after all this time. To add a bit more variety, I decided to convert the Mad Llama Foosball Table from The Sims 3.
It costs 625 simoleons and can be found under the Activities and Skills > Recreation sort. It comes available in 3 original swatches plus an additional fourth blue swatch, each featuring a newly created specular and normal map.

Windenburg Map Override
After roughly a YEAR since first starting this project, I can now finally say it's finished! This one took me so long because this is my most in-depth map override of them all so far. Not only have I pretty much redrawn 75% of the map texture, I have also gone in and corrected the rotation and location of many of the Lots. I may have gone a little overboard with the amount of details I've packed into the map in some areas, Olde Platz especially (so many houses), but I think it still matches the original aesthetics and the rest of the maps in the game.

WHAT WAS THE INSPIRATION FOR WYM?
Back when I could still work outside the house, I was doing an office job, and I recall just how wiped I felt at the end of a day. I pondered over what that does to people, and formed a character who was going through that situation. This guy eventually became Kyler. Booker has been the same from the start.
'Jaded adult re-introduced to imaginary friend' is hardly a new concept, but WYM is different in how it challenges the world's perception of what defines adulthood.
It's difficult to remember where the idea of 'reality bending' came from, but the notion of creativity taking on a more tangible and almost intrusive/chaotic form likely had something to do with it. Creativity is spontaneous, but what if it was also visible?

WHY DO I LOVE INDIE ANIMATION?
There's a lot more freedom to explore concepts or thoughts that would otherwise be stifled by a studio's risk-averseness and fear of losing money.
