Brothers Of Cinderella - By Han Nyang (8/10)
Tumblr media
The Prince is a cheater. The Cinderella Bride is a swindler. The Mastermind is a puppet under The Stepmother, who would love to take Cinderella for himself. This is a crazy rich family drama. How crazy? Well a maid gets tied to a bed and kidnapped, and that's a minor side plot.
Joyce was a real princess.
Now she's Cinderella.
Her daddy was rich and wonderful.
He married an evil gold digger with three sons.
Her daddy died.
Stepmother took all the cash when she was too young to protect herself. She ended up living as a waitress in a restaurant, with only a distant uncle to support her.
That uncle gets sick, and she decides to return to the family home. She deserves some of that money. The Shin fortune was originally hers by birth, after all.
Tumblr media
We get flashes.
Memories. Did she want to kill her brothers? They did take everything, after all. All three were spineless, and they listened to their mother. When she vanished nobody came looking for her.
Tumblr media
Her family wants her back.
They want her to play the part of Cinderella. When Joyce Shin was still a cute young heiress she went to horse camp with a boy. That boy is the powerful, naive, and capricious George Yoo. He's embroiled in politics and he's bored. Lonely too. He's been cheating on his idol girlfriend, and his catty redhead c**t fiance publicly humiliates him constantly.
George Yoo is the kind of man that wants to wed his precious first love. He wants to leave his awful playboy days behind, and have a clean slate. Crystal Yoon, his current rich fiance, has multiple boy toy lovers anyway. His life is a soap opera.
A sweet Cinderella story could save him.
Joyce needs money to save her uncle.
Marrying an heir CEO will get her what she needs.
It gets Stepmother power too.
George gets his (fake) happy ending too.
It's a win, win, win.
Tumblr media
The Three Brothers:
Logan - in love with Joyce. Pimps her out to George according to his mother's will. Eventually he forces her to play the part of his fiancé instead. He listens to all of her conversations with George through a spy headset. He's so obsessed that he can't see it. He thinks he hates Joyce, in the beginning.
Luke - Not in love with Joyce. He dresses her in fancy clothes because he's a stylist but that's it. Crystal Yoon sends a maid to spy on Joyce. Luke catches her. He kidnaps her, and an extremely stereotypical yandere/maid/kink story pops into the plot.
Leo - In love with Joyce. He starts sleeping with Crystal to distract her from the plan. He wants what Joyce wants, but it's implied that he stays in a relationship of sorts with Crystal. He gives up on Joyce because she belongs to Logan.
Tumblr media
Crystal is a demon.
Leo is lucky that he's hot. Nothing can stop Crystal, except a hot piece of ass. Literally her only weakness is lust.
In her first appearance she:
- Walks into George's home uninvited when he still has a girlfriend.
- Yanks a maid around by the hair when security attempts to stop her.
- When George arrives she immediately pressures him into bed. George is a weak willed pawn with money, so she tops him.
- She demands that he break up with his idol girlfriend before their wedding, for the sake of her reputation.
- George begs for mercy, but he doesn't say no when she tops him again.
....so...yeah...Crystal is so powerful that she ceases to be a villain. She doesn't love George. She exists to expose him. George is just another rich user loser, who has slept around since he turned 18. His little fantasy about giving that up to be with Joyce will never change all of his horrible actions before that.
Crystal makes it crystal clear.
George isn't prince material.
Tumblr media
Logan starts to have scary flashbacks.
Something bad happened.
Something forced Joyce to flee, after her father died.
Logan starts to tremble, while he listens to his Fake Cinderella flirt with his wallet target.
His mother mostly knows everything by the way. She does sort of care about her sons, but she's...like Crystal. She is a businesswoman first.
Logan is in too deep and she knows it.
The plan has changed too much.
Joyce was supposed to be innocent.
A Pure Cinderella.
Now she's "Logan's Fiance" and George Yoo is cheating on Crystal with Joyce. His mother knows Logan could not resist. He loves Joyce too much. He broke the plan. He made it messy and convoluted, because he wanted to play fiance with her. Even though he can't actually have her. He wanted to pretend and kiss in public that much.
Tumblr media
Logan loses his mind even more.
He sets their marriage date. That's right he's going to marry his fake fiance, who is supposed to be bait for another man, in Paris.
He says it's an elaborate setup. George will find her in Paris. He believes she can save him from his own crappy past, after all.
He will show up on a white horse.
She'll marry a billionaire, and the Shin family will gain so much more. George is such an easy pawn. That makes him the hottest husband candidate.
Tumblr media
Logan gets sick when they land in France, after an awful flight. It was full of turbulence, screaming babies, and delays. The plan is running behind.
Joyce doesn't run to find her Pawn Prince.
She nurses Logan back to health.
He admits he wants only her about a billion times.
He shakes and has a panic attack.
Tumblr media
Logan is Joyce's first love. When they were living as step siblings their relationship was a mess. Stepmother told her children to be cruel to Joyce. Logan was mean to her, like a spineless brat. He listened to his mean mommy, but Joyce was too cool. She was a genuine Princess. He couldn’t help it. He started watching her. She noticed his eyes. She loved it. She loved the pathetic way he lied about hating her, while he blushed and gave her whatever she wanted behind the scenes.
She kisses him.
Their father sees.
He's goes into shock.
He stumbles into the street.
He falls.
A car runs him over.
It's a stupid, pointless, ridiculous death.
Logan blames himself, because he didn't push Joyce off.
Tumblr media
Logan is the real Prince.
A rich, devoted man who loves only her. He was cruel to her, but the entire time his heart was for her. His mother's influence shattered under his desire to play romance with her. In France, outside of Paris on a farm, he decides that he wants it to be real.
She's his stepsister.
Their father died of shock after seeing them together.
His mother doesn't approve.
Joyce is supposed to be a cash cow, scheduled to be delivered to another man.
He's supposed to be the Mastermind using her, but he falls apart. Nothing else matters when he calls her his wife. He does it even though it's not real.
He's a mess, but she reciprocates his feelings because she's a boring doormat.
Congratulations on your real engagement, I guess.

Taming a Corrupted Slave Man - By Purple Village (8.5/10)
Tumblr media
Love is off the table. Everything is a lie. Constant mind games. It's exhausting. Our protagonist is kind of a sociopath but I get it. Being the only woman with healing powers in the country is crazy stressful. The problem is everybody is crazy, and all of the love stories here end in blood. There's a surprise twist yandere too.
Aren is the only daughter of a very special family. Literally only the current king knows she has healing powers. It's a rare thing. Her family gets tons of royal cash because her existence is so convenient. She's VERY sheltered and her father loves her VERY much. He refuses to have more kids, because he loved his wife who died in childbirth. He spoiled his special daughter too much.
Tumblr media
She dies at the hands of her fiance, Duke Daiman. He's a strong, brilliant Knight...with a heart condition. She cured his heart, because she fell for his good looks at first sight. Daimen took advantage of her. He is a genius with royal blood. He uses her family money to attempt to usurp the throne. He also brings in a lover named Lillian, because he thinks she's that stupid. He thinks she will let him have a lover, because she's so lonely and she loves him so blindly.
Her father died in war. Her fiance is all she has.
She stands up for herself.
She says she will not let another woman in.
She attempts to break off their engagement, and he stabs her in the back.
Why?
Well, he doesn't want her to marry into another family. She's too useful. Her healing powers are too valuable. If he can't use her no one can.
His lover smirks while she dies.
Tumblr media
Aren basically wakes up evil it's wild. She values her servants. She adores her father utterly. She will not let him die in war. The law dictates that a man from every family must go to war, so she decides to adopt a "brother" into the family. A meat bag to be used so her beloved father may live. There's not even a whiff of romance.
Tumblr media
Aren knows who the most talented swordsman is.
She goes out to pick him up.
It's a slave named Cassadim. He became a royal servant under the Crown Prince in her past life. He was known for his unreal beauty and his savagery in battle.
Aren feels a little guilty for like a second, but she uses the royal money she has to buy him. From then on there is zero remorse. Her father knows, by the way. She literally tells her father he should adopt a fake son to use, if he's still not willing to remarry. Aren and her father are both actually interesting because they're "nice" on the surface, but if you annoy them...well...bye? Aren is against(?) traditional slavery. Kinda. She doesn't like torture. She intends to let Cassadim live well as her brother. As a noble. If he doesn’t die in battle he will lead a charmed life...but omg buying him to take her dad's place is soooo messy. Evil ice princess dang.
(Also Cassadim was used for "night services" as a slave, so she does save him from that. She NEVER does anything sexual to him. She also uses her powers to fix his scars, and health issues that piled up when he was an arena fighter. He's getting a pretty good deal. A healthy body. The possibility to survive as a noble son. Yeahhhh. Slight problem though. SHE NEVER TELLS HIM. HE DOESN'T KNOW HE'S A WAR HORSE UNTIL IT HAPPENS. AH! but by then he is willing to die for the family so I guess...the plan worked...)
Tumblr media
By the way nobody knows Aren is a healer. She of course steps in to save the prince.
Cassadim doesn't know EVERYTHING, but he knows. He doesn't trust Aren. He's totally right to be suspicious. He also uses her. He mistakenly thinks the King is the one who destroyed his home country. So he uses knowledge he gets from Aren's medical book collection to create poison. He goes to the ball with her.
He poisons the prince, Leon.
Tumblr media
And now he's in love....not really. Leon thinks Aren is the most perfect and convenient wife. She says no and he gets pushy. Cassadim finally gets jealous. He likes living with Aren and being her brother on paper, but he doesn't know how to feel about her getting married. He starts to act immature for the first time. He has been spoiled, on purpose, by Aren. This is the way she wants him to be. Clingy. Protective. Willing to die for her.
She tells him she knows everything. She knows he poisoned the Prince. He did it because HE used to be a prince, but his country was burned to ash.
The King didn’t do it.
Duke Daiman's father did.
How convenient.
Tumblr media
Aren jumps on the chance. She convinces Cassadim to go against the Duke with her. She pins the blame for the poison on the Duke too. Her revenge is perfect...Cassadim snaps for the first time. He accuses her of being a seductress. A liar. Someone who will never care about him as much as he cares about her.
He's sort of right. They fall in love later, but Aren is totally obsessed with revenge for half the story.
Tumblr media
He actually attacks her.
Things get tense.
Then we get the classic yandere ramblings. Yes, after years of "love" Cassadim loses. He is putty in her hands. Unable to stand the thought of her getting married or even sleeping next to someone else. He starts begging her to use him when she has "urges", because he doesn't want another man to do it. The Prince, and actually lots of people, start to comment about how weird he is. His worshipful love is an open secret.
Tumblr media
Aren grabs her last puzzle piece. Tol. A slave that was tortured by Daiman and his butler. Aren does a great favor for Tol. His tongue was cut out. She grows it back for him. Tol is grateful and he agrees to lie for her. Someone must be blamed for the poison incident.
The plan is:
Aren pretends to be a foolish girl in love with the Duke, who visits him in prison.
She will then claim the Duke encouraged her to commit treason and hide signs of his crime.
Tol will pretend to be a witness, as he has been a slave in the ducal house for a while.
She unleashes the plan when Daiman thinks he is safe. When he's out of prison with an alibi, at the Prince's royal birthday.
It goes off without a hitch. Daiman freaks out and has a seizure in front of everyone. Then, all of his enemies know about his secret weakness. If he doesn’t go to jail that's fine. One of his many enemies will take advantage of that weak heart of his.
Aren gleefully laughs about how she easily could have been his savior. He had the LITERAL ONLY MAGICAL HEALER in his grasp, and he chose to abuse her.
He falls from grace, and even the prince acknowledges how scary Aren is.
Tumblr media
Plot twist.
Daiman was obsessed with Aren in their shared past life. He cut her off from the world. He kept her his secret and he coveted her power and he was madly in love...but he was a bad yandere. He was not openly affectionate. He enjoyed controlling every step of her day. He knew she loved him unconditionally, so he made her chase him and beg for his love when she was lonely.
He brought in Lillian, a random woman, purely to make Aren jealous.
When Aren lashes out for the first time ever Daiman stabs her because he sucks, and he doesn’t want her to leave him. He didn’t want Aren to hate him. He just wanted her to be lonely whenever he wasn't around. He stabs her the second she falls out of love with him.
Lillian desperately tries to seduce him to save her own life, but Daiman cruelly torments her before he kills her too. He blames Lillian for ruining his perfect Aren.
Cassadim is a little less crazy. He gets the right to wed Aren after he does well in the war.
The audacity.

Remember Me - By Bd (8/10)
Tumblr media
She's cool and pretty. She's a small business owner. She stepped in to save a child's life once, but a freak accident killed him anyway. Our protagonist is a "shiny" normal person that stands out wherever she goes, and there's definitely a mystery about her past.
Eun-ha was 20 years old when she got involved in a gun fight. She was on a trip in a remote and unfriendly area at the time.
Tumblr media
A nice, handsome older man offered her directions.
He says he knows her, but that just isn't possible. They're in a different country, and he is a stranger.
Tumblr media
He has a son, and when Eun-ha sees him she does think she recognizes him. That's crazy though, so she brushes it off.
Tumblr media
His father dies in front of them.
San-Ho comes from a very dangerous and odd family. Eun-ha tries to protect him, but judging by the way the child behaves its a wealthy family...or a criminal one.
Likely criminal, because of the way his father was executed in the street.
Tumblr media
Eun-ha and her uncle care for him for a month. They make precious memories. The boy sees her as his hero. She gets attached and they have fun.
San-Ho doesn't seem used to fun.
His life was dark before her.
Tumblr media
Now Eun-ha is 37. She still has pictures of him, but she tries not to think about him. He is a painful memory now.
Tumblr media
Eun-ha owns a small business. A cleaning company. She cleans rich people houses. Mansions. Empty homes with no furniture that need to be upkept.
Tumblr media
One of her clients is Shin Noel. A man who reminds her of San-Ho. He seems to recognize her too. He also has a gorgeous girlfriend/lover...that he doesn't treat well. I'm sure there will be drama when he starts chasing an "old hag".
Tumblr media
Eun-ha is in denial.
She saw the boy die.
A truck drove into them.
Probably on purpose.
Shin Noel probably changed his name to survive. Maybe he thought SHE was the one who died that day. Who knows? His family situation is suuuppperr messy.
Tumblr media
I don't know how much he knows.
Also...I know what you're thinking.
Eun-ha does not look 37. Im ok with it though. It's better than an inappropriate age gap. A man in his mid twenties can freely date anyone. If he was 18 and she was 30 the gap would be more uncomfortable.

Hwang Young's Misery - By Yeaze (9/10)
Tumblr media
Yandere for profit. An author that writes miserable stories about psychotic love, just to get clicks. He meets an obsessed fan. One that wants to role play every part of his most popular story from beginning to end, even though it's not finished yet. What ending will satisfy the monster? Hopefully, not the original one he had in mind. He has to change the plot, in order to survive.
"Sheldon" is a lonely but successful webtoon author who sacrificed everything to get to the top. He has never written a happy story. He believes endless drama is what thrills viewers that are trapped in their normal, everyday lives. He gets rejected countless times. When his first webtoon gets approved he doesn't expect it to be a success, but it is.
Tumblr media
Hwangyoung's Phantoms. It's a long-form yandere thriller about an author with a weak mind. Poor Hwangyoung. He relies on his doting lover for affection and stability and money. Dohyuk is the ideal partner for a lonely author. He is patient and kind and he manages Hwangyoungs schedule and he takes advantage of Hwangyoungs poor memory to sneak into his life. Dohyuk originally wasn't dating Hwangyoung. He lied about that while Hwangyoung's metal health was very low. Hwangyoung doesn't even remember his own name. He should be in a mental hospital, not a relationship, and his loving partner is downright dangerous. Hwangyoungs mental state will continue to decline if he doesn’t get help, but Dohyuk doesn't seem to care as long as Hwangyoung relies on him.
It's a layered thriller.
Tumblr media
"Sheldon" isn't in a relationship. He's in an awkward hook up situation with someone, but it's not going anywhere. He's very lonely. He's drunk when he meets Dohyuk. Dohyuk is his biggest fan...and he looks exactly like fictional "Dohyuk". He even has features that aren't common in Korean men, like super deep dimples etc. Hwangyoung falls for the compliments. Dohyuk's smile is so familiar, and he is crazy handsome.
They flirt.
Tumblr media
"Dohyuk" is not his real name. He brings "Sheldon" home. When Sheldon is dead asleep he uses a hammer to fracture his leg. I'm telling you right now the depiction of this injury is extremely realistic. Due to a combination of pills and alcohol "Sheldon" doesn't figure out what happened for a while. He is in panic mode for a few chapters, unable to move or negotiate in an unfamiliar house.
He is not a super genius.
He is an author.
"Dohyuk" almost murders him several times when he tries to escape. He gives up, and Stockholm Syndrome comes in...kinda. He thinks he's using "Dohyuk", but it's clear that the kidnapper always has the upper hand.
Tumblr media
"Sheldon" doesn't have very many close relationships. His life has been his webtoon for several years now. The third season is about to begin. Nobody finds him for three months. "Sheldon" isn't an awful person or anything, but when his friends don't get an answer they just assume he's working.
"Dohyuk" uses this to make "Sheldon" even more lonely.
Also he calls "Sheldon" "Hwangyoung".
"Sheldon" based his yandere story around people in his life. The main character is based on him and his loneliness. "Dohyuk" picked up on this, and now the author must literally play that role.
Tumblr media
The role makes him break down constantly. "Dohyuk" is not a perfect captor, but he is well prepared. It takes months for that wounded leg to heal as well. When he is healed his spirit is broken. He continues to write his webtoon, but he lives in fear of "Dohyuk". His kidnapper is his biggest fan, and his opinion is the only opinion that matters.
He knows, deep down, that he will lose his leg again if "Dohyuk" doesn't like the new chapter.
Or the ending.
Tumblr media
His mind is not in the best condition for several reasons. "Sheldon" is a fully grown man, and "Dohyuk" isn't magic. The kidnapper uses underhanded methods to keep his favorite creator weak. "Sheldon" downs a cocktail of pills every morning. He manages to spit out some, but his mind is muddled by illegal substances. He can write, but he spends most of his day in bed. He has constant headaches, and consistent stomach pain throughout the story.
"Dohyuk" only cares if he has the ability to write.
Nothing else matters.
He thinks his true love will be fulfilled after the story is written. Then he will act out the love scenes with the real "Hwangyoung".
Tumblr media
"Sheldon" has been in denial for quite some time. It's clear that his friends are worried for him. He isolates himself. He only writes disturbingly sad stories. He has trouble with romance, and creating relationships in general. He's got depression, and he hasn't admitted that to himself yet. He has been interviewed before, and the press was shocked to hear that his thriller BL is based around people he knows. He is scared of committing to his casual lover. So he wrote about that lover pining for Hwangyoung while he is kidnapped by Dohyuk. This happens in real life as well. Wo-ilk returns pained to see "Sheldon" with a handsome new lover.
"Sheldon" has never been normal. He just doesn't know it yet.
Tumblr media
He is extremely hard on himself. He makes fun of himself for "acting like a wimp" even though being kidnapped was not his fault. His thoughts turn to self hatred pretty quickly, and this causes him to fall prey to Stockholm in just a few months.
I thought it was strange.
From the very beginning he believes no one will look for him. He doesn't have a shred of hope. He thinks he can save himself for a bit, but then he gets lonely...and he just can't function.
It's a somewhat normal reaction, but it happens too fast.
He has no faith in his relationships.
He writes season three, but he doesn't try to ask his editors for help. It is too dangerous. "Dohyuk" is watching through spyware, but he seems to believe his coworkers don't care either.
Tumblr media
He gets better at manipulating "Dohyuk", but it's...not enough? He is fooling himself. "Dohyuk" is incredibly happy. "Sheldon" plays the role of "Hwangyoung" every time he leaves his room. Heck, it even escalates to him acting as soon as he wakes up in the morning. He is losing. His "victories" are just "Dohyuk not killing him", "Dohyuk letting him walk around the house" etc.
He's so caught up in the story.
He can't see the light anymore.
I assume his actual sort-of lover tries to break in, because I can't imagine him escaping on his own at this point.

Is this a BAD END? - By Dokonidemioru Imouto (8/10)
Tumblr media
I love a likeable protagonist, and I love yanderes that are good at lying. This is a one-shot, but it would have worked well as a multi-chapter story. It's a little dialog heavy, because the author shoves alot of plot into about fifty pages.
Lulutia's life isn't fixable. She isn't JUST a villainess. She's an IRRELEVANT villainess.
Tumblr media
One of FIVE IRRELEVANT side character women fighting for one guy's affection. He's destined to love the saintess, so she gives up immediately.
Tumblr media
Her potential fiancé, Leodeet, is a stereotypical perfect guy. Her runaway plan goes super well. He's popular, so he's too busy dealing with the horde of women fighting for him to come after her.
Tumblr media
Lulutia is too busy to deal with him too. She tried all kinds of things, for five years. Her parents didn't love her when she tried to be nice. Her brother is too busy being heir to care about her. Trying to make friends didn't work...so she secretly got a job.
Noble life sucks!!!
She's leaving!!!
Tumblr media
Bye!!!!
Lulutia is a modern reincarnator, so she's not scared of living the peasant life.
Tumblr media
She wakes up kidnapped.
Her prince wanted to save her, but she never asked him for help.
Tumblr media
Lulutia accidentally played with his feelings. He did love her, but she only ever paid attention to him briefly. She never responded to his letters either. She made him feel lonely, and annoyed.
He wanted her to be mean to the other ladies, so he could spend more time with her.
Tumblr media
He was very lonely.
Tumblr media
Leodeet knows she's a different woman. He fell for the real her. He thought she would come to love him as well, and they would marry happily.
When her family disowned her...he thought she would choose him...but she ran off to be an independent girl boss.
Tumblr media
He tried to be cute at first...but she never even noticed his efforts. He chose her as his partner every time. He invited her to every tea party, but Lulutia was too busy planning her escape to give him a shred of her attention.
After he kidnaps her he says he'll take care of her, and she doesn't have to worry about anything.
Basically, our protagonist accidentally neglected her sweet fiance and he turned into a yandere.

Zetsurin Yurei ga Iku made Tsuitekuru - By Okonogi Happa (8.5/10)
Tumblr media
A lonely girl and an obsessive ghost? What a great combination! Now you'll never be alone again! Never ever! Not when you sleep or eat or work! Being alone is no longer an option.
Tsubaki works hard. Her parents aren’t around much, and she deals with creeps alot because she's pretty.
One day a handsome man asks her for directions.
Tumblr media
She's confused.
The place he wants to find moved years ago.
He knows her name too.
She didn’t mention that.
Tumblr media
When she wakes up he's in her room.
She can't move.
Is her magic?
No...
Tumblr media
Poor Tsubaki is a psychic and she had no clue. Masa here is the first ghost she has ever met, and he's pretty powerful.
He can read thoughts.
Tumblr media
She wants to call for help, and he says that's useless. Ghosts and psychics are both rare. So rare that nobody believes in them.
Tumblr media
Masa hasn't interacted with anyone for years.
He haunts Tsubaki, because he wants to.
There's nothing else in life for him.
He loves her.
Tumblr media
He even acts cute.
She actually kinda likes it.
Tumblr media
A strong psychic froze him years ago.
Tsubaki saved him.
Freed him.
She's the best!
Tumblr media
He's full of praise for her.
All the time.
He's everywhere.
Tsubaki has no time for anything else, because Masa is literally always behind her.
Until death do us part doesn’t apply to him...
Tumblr media
By the end she's very isolated, and she spends all of her time with the man who haunts her 24/7

Little Bit Psycho - By Jagal (8/10)
Tumblr media
A blind kidnapping, with no explanation or motive, is a hard concept to pull off. A deep relationship makes drama more interesting. A kidnapper in love without a motive can be extra scary, but the scariness sacrifices context. This one looks good, but it might not hold up.
Jooheon is kind of a jerk, but he's not evil or anything. He's a handsome student. He doesn't seem to like kiss-asses or absent minded people.
He's serious, but people tend to treat him like a trophy because he's mega hot.
That's all we get before he's kidnapped....by someone who sees him as a lusty object to obsess over.
Tumblr media
Jooheon seems like the kind of guy that wants to be alone. He's popular, but it's not his doing. Men and women want him to join mixers. He gets invited to parties and dates near constantly. It kinda sucks, because he just wants to chill between classes.
He sort of implies that being hit on all the time feels creepy. It's very human. It makes him likeable. Being a hot introvert would kinda suck...I guess.
Tumblr media
His trouble starts here.
A random accident.
A blond guy bumps into him.
His phone falls, and then the blond guy accidentally steps on it.
Jooheon acts refreshingly normal. The guy is flustered and trying to hail a cab. Jooheon stops him and says they have to exchange numbers, since he should pay for the cracked phone.
The scrambling man says sorry, and Jooheon goes home. He doesn't say anything awful to the guy. He just thinks some rude thoughts.
Tumblr media
The guy (Chani) follows Jooheon home. He pumps Jooheon full of drugs, and he shoves Jooheon into a suitcase.
Chani sings about love and eternal affection while he hauls Jooheon into a taxi cab trunk.
Tumblr media
Jooheon wakes up in handcuffs and a blindfold.
Chani is not a nice stalker.
He starts obsessing over Jooheon's body before he can say a word.
Tumblr media
Jooheon tries to resist.
Chani beats him while he's handcuffed until he shuts up.
Chani wants to hear "I love you" right away. No context. No waiting. Just say it.
Jooheon refuses.
I think you know what happens next.
Tumblr media
The mask comes off and Jooheon recognizes his captor.
He's...a random stranger.
The guy that "accidentally" broke his phone.
Fear takes over.
Chani has no real reason to want him, so he thinks he's in deep shit.
Tumblr media
Chani implies that Jooheon does know him, but he says nothing. He expects Jooheon to remember alone....in the prison he prepared.
Tumblr media
Jooheon is left with no choice.
He tries to attack Chani, which leads to him getting choked viciously.
He gets dragged to the bathroom.
Jooheon struggles more and Chani implies that being dirty and afraid suits him?
Chani could be looking for revenge, but it's very unclear.
Tumblr media
Chani reveals that he is a student. A regular one. Jooheon's prison is two tiny rooms. A bedroom and a toilet and a sink. It's not glamorous. It's scary, and Jooheon has no clues to cling to.
The summary says Stockholm Syndrome incoming.

With One Day Left I'll Break All the Destruction Flags - By Fukutome Shun (8/10)
Tumblr media
A perfect happy ending isn't good enough!!! This villainess wants revenge and she will get it, no matter what the cost. This one is very fast paced, as the villainess has less than a week before her time is up.
Alexandra is a proud Ducal daughter, engaged to a handsome Crown Prince. In this world politics matters, even though it is an otome game. Alfonso will lose everything if he marries Lucia, his low-ranking lover, but he doesn’t know that yet. Lucia is a reincarnator obsessed with the otome world. She wants to give everyone love, so she maxes out everyone. She renders the kings aide, and all of her friends, down into happy lovestruck fools.
Alfonso has no idea that he is just one member of her collection. He will not have her full affection, or his Crown Prince position, when he chooses her.
Tumblr media
Alexandra receives an oracle of sorts. Memories from a woman who played the game. Lucia's love is going to destroy the country. Many people will die, or live their lives depressed, obsessing over Lucia forever. The perfect otome game heroine is a rather toxic existence.
Tumblr media
Lucia even wants to be friends with Alexandra. That is the true happy ending. All of Lucia's favorite characters, worshipping her all at once.
Alexandra refuses to accept her happy ending with Lucia.
She has been betrayed by her fiance, in favor of a vixen who isn't even loyal to him. She vows to destroy her idiot fiance, and the woman he's cheating on her with.
Um...by the way this gets kinda intense.
Lucia totally treats the "characters" like toys. She's sleeping with Alfonso, and a bunch of the other characters.
Tumblr media
Alexandra realizes that her path is the right one. The family butler betrayed them. He is loyal to Lucia. He leaked family secrets for Lucia, and because his affection is maxed out he's unstable. Willing to attack, defame, and harm his own mistress.
Viviana, Alexandra's sister, soon learns the truth. She's Lucia's close friend. She's been harassing Alexandra for her friends sake
...but then Alexandra drops a bomb.
She says she will dissolve the engagement.
Then Viviana can give Alfonso a legitimate heir, while he lavishes his love on Lucia.
Viviana finally realizes how humiliating Alexandra's position is.
She realizes that bearing a son for friendships sake is way too much.
Alfonso won't be able to keep the Crown Prince title without a proper noble womb though...
Viviana finally realizes that Lucia's love has messed with the royal succession, which will result in lost lives.
Tumblr media
The characters all love Lucia too much. They are drunk on her love. This guy believes he can be forgiven for anything as long as an angel like Lucia "loves" him.
(His company sells women to pleasure houses)
Alexandra forces him out of the picture, leaving Lucia with one less insane pawn.
Tumblr media
Lucia knows everything. She reincarnated. She is no longer Lucia. She behaves like a player controlling Lucia. She is greedy but she still wants her favorites to be happy.
She gushes about her happy harem ending with a mystery character.
It is heavily implied that this mystery character is going to kidnap Lucia after Alexandra wins.
It's kinda sweet.
The one character Lucia is honest with truly loves her, in all of her selfish glory.
Tumblr media
Theodore is a sexy, pathetic, conniving yandere side character. He is also Lucia's teacher. He is confronted about his love for a student, after Alexandra leaks the information to certain trusted friends. Said friends are smart enough to manipulate Theodore. They tell him he can have Lucia, if he doesn't show up for Alexandra's divorce event.
Theodore is a total freak who sees Lucia as a mother figure, so he agrees.
Tumblr media
Alexandra arrests the secret assassin character, Elia. Elia is crazy strong, but he's no match for twenty men. He goes to prison screaming for Lucia. He's dangerous. Obsessed too. There's a high chance that Alexandra still dies in the happy harem ending. Why? Well, because Elias hates to see obstacles around Lucia. He likes to poison women and kill men who get in her way.
So Alexandra gets rid of him before the dramatic reveal can even begin.
Tumblr media
The royal family is embarrassed by Alfonso's behavior. The happy harem ending makes all of the MAIN characters happy. The side characters seem to think the otome game cast has gone insane. If only greedy Lucia had chosen the Alfonso route. If she had chosen to be loyal to one character...the royal family would have bent the rules for her.
Now all of the side characters know Lucia is a vixen who controls powerful men.
The King takes away Alfonso's seat as successor. He knows Alf-idiot has been cheating, and behaving irresponsibly.
Prince Gerald becomes heir, and he wants Alexandra. His long crush is finally over, and he can finally have the bride he has dreamed of since childhood.
Tumblr media
Alexandra tries to scare him away, but it doesn't work. Gerald vows to become stronger. He is willing to give up anything and be anything to be with Alexandra. She had no idea he was so passionate. Her constant shock at his flirting is a running gag.
He is conflicted for a bit, but his resolve is crazy clear.
He will humiliate and dethrone anyone in order to marry Alexandra.
There's a wide variety of yanderes here. Unsavory ones, mysterious ones, and noble romantics all at once. The fast pace is nice too.

The Archduke's Gorgeous Wedding Was a Fraud - By 은려원 (8/10)
Tumblr media
A gradual slow burn yandere and a slavishly devoted stalker are bitter enemies in this story. Their rivalry grows deeper when they fall for the same woman. This is an otome isekai. It would have been a solid 9 if it wasn't, but it is still above average.
She is a painter with magic. Her paintings can take shape and come to life. That's a cool power, but having a special ability can suck. She shows up as a slave in the beginning, because assholes love to collect rare things.
In the original story "Shay" was a dumb stalker who was only interested in drooling over Archduke Lucien. He goes yandere for Shay later....after her body is randomly possessed by a Modern Korean Woman with No Flaws.
(Sigh)
The otome isekai part is needlessly complicated and annoying, but yeah.
It's there.
Tumblr media
In the beginning we think Shay was a total loser with no friends who died unloved. Now, in her second new life she is a slave who gets bought by Lucien.
Lucien needs a beautiful, magic wife.
He doesn't want to get married, so he buys Shay to use her as a shield. It's actually a really cruel plan. He's tired of dealing with suitors. He knows Shay will get attacked but that's not his problem.
Tumblr media
Poor Shay.
She spends a whole chapter gushing about her new pretty face.
She acts sassy and then it all becomes clear.
Lucien isn't mean.
It was love at first sight and he doesn’t know.
He dropped big money to make sure nobody would buy her.
He thought her anger and pain on stage was beautiful. He talks about using her but yeah...no...
Tumblr media
Lucien proposes when he figures out that Shay is not affected by his latent magic. He has the blood of the Sun God. It makes him sexually irresistible. Women are creepy around him. Predatory. They steal his hair and they constantly try to break into his home etc.
He's strong.
That's the only reason why he isn't a concubine in a harem somewhere...
Tumblr media
Shay says yes.
Her name is changed to Titania permanently....
...
...
Seriously why is this an otome isekai?
She agrees to marry him and protect him with her magic.
They become a good team.
Lucien really likes having normal conversation with somebody who isn't trying to take his pants off.
Tumblr media
There's a horny princess who wears suits.
Kind of yandere...but not she only cares about collecting and controlling beautiful people...actually she's kinda boring moving on.
Tumblr media
The other yandere is Kun. He knew Shay. He loved her BEFORE Shay became Titania. (Hence his yandere behavior feels less...legit)
This sucks.
Imagine with me here.
Story opens.
.
Shay is an idiot stalker who gets sold off as a slave because everybody hates her. Lucien comes to save her because he knows she isn't affected by his magic. She's just regular crazy obsessed. He tells her to please chill in exchange for cash and she agrees because she's been reduced to a slave. She needs money/the fake marriage to live another day. Shay cruelly leaves Kun behind because she is finally with the man she likes, and he pines over her. He did bad stuff and crimes for her, and she is all he has in this life. Blah blah blah Shay learns to like Lucien as a person, not an object, when they get closer. She realizes that letting Kun fawn over her is bad for his mental health. She apologizes and helps him get a hobby maybe and plot twist Lucien is also a yandere. He's worse than Kun ever was, but he hides it for the sake of her smile. Real marriage. End. Everybody in the trio becomes a better, more well-adjusted human being.
But nope otome isekai I guess.
Tumblr media
Kun's intro is good.
He bested Lucien in combat before.
Both men see each other as a real threat. Lucien can't just snort and kick him out.
Titania has no clue who he is...but Kun says nothing but yandere shit about his love for Shay.
Something happened to make him so obsessed, but the author probably won't explain because...say it with me...
Otome isekai...
Tumblr media
Lucien gradually becomes more jealous.
His thoughts get more unhinged too, and it's fun.
He's a doting yandere, and he doesn’t know it yet. He designs a fine painting room for Titania. He hates it when mere servants gawk at her beauty, and the sight of Kun makes him go quiet with rage.
He's good.
Tumblr media
I really, really like the contrast. These two yanderes are not the same. They have their own charm points. Too bad about the otome isekai plot holes though.

Kashoku no Shiro - By Takayama Shinobu (9/10)
Tumblr media
Toxic romance after toxic romance. Nothing but twisted love. Our protagonist has quite literally never had a healthy relationship. She leads a cursed life, as the bride of the progenitor of all demonkind. Before her marriage she was trapped by an unstable young master too, but she's no villain. She tries to find her own form of happiness, within the confines of her eternally twisted existence.
Superstition and bad luck banded together to ruin her childhood. The smart elder brother was born blind. The father who lives with constant illness. The cute little sister covered in ugly birthmarks. Birthmarks are a bad omen, and their ugliness prevents the only girl from getting married. The family is stuck in a cycle of poverty and shame.
Tumblr media
Shiraume, the ugly and unlucky daughter, gets "saved" by the handsome and smart son of a landlord. He is the first yandere in her life. Juro saves her and her blind brother from completely crushing poverty. He keeps her as his servant, but her quality of life is still poor. Juro is the ideal heir, but he is not the legitimate son. He is constantly abused by the real heir. He projects his toxic savior complex onto Shiraume, until he starts to see her curse as his only possible savior. He wants her curse to destroy the household that will not acknowledge him.
The heir turns into a demon, because he's even more toxic than Juro.
Tumblr media
Jin appears and he proposes in the most dramatic way possible. He tears out one of Juro's eyes. He kills the newly born demon, and he says Shiraume is the one and only bride for him. She is the best bait. Demons implant flowers in humans they want to feed on. Shiraume's pure flowers can drive any demon mad. Jin promises not to eat her. He will treat her well as a bride instead, as long as she helps him lure out the bloodthirsty monsters.
Tumblr media
Her relationship with Jin is much better. Shiraume doesn't want to be a lazy bride. She sees herself as a servant, really. Jin doesn't force her to do anything. He just protects her, and he tells her (gently) that she shouldn't do things that make him jealous. Even though they aren't (technically) romantically involved they accidentally flirt all the time. Jin is a demon though. Not a hot guy with pointed ears. I completely understand why Shiraume is keeping her distance, especially after what happened with her first savior/crush.
Tumblr media
This is a convenient rich reporter guy that Shiraume could choose instead of Jin. He's quirky and wholesome and he loves mysteries. When Shiraume lures out a demon with her flowers he is smitten and interested. Once again his feelings aren't entirely romantic. He wants to save Shiraume and take care of her...just like Jin...just like Juro. He's a regular, happy guy though so he's less forceful about it.
Tumblr media
She rejects Kiso. She chooses Jin. She's learned her lesson. Jin is patient with her, and his possessiveness isn't restrictive. He's not like Juro. He doesn't want to lock her away and babble about curses. Jin wants to rid the world of demons, and he's good to her. I hope the series ends with them actually getting formally married. Shiraume doesn't value herself enough, so she sees the flower contract as a job, not a marriage.
Tumblr media
Her past with Juro was painful. She doesn't hate him, but I think he may be a villain later. Kiso is still following her around too, trying to save her. Men with savior complexes cling to Shiraume like flies. It's a joy to watch her reject them, and continue her adventures. She saves lots of people. She faces plenty of danger, and it's all worth it in the end.
She's no simple housewife.
She is a strong and forthright demon bride.
Tumblr media
There is one problem. I don't think Shiraume and Jin get enough page time. Too much of the story is dedicated to Kiso and Juro. It's cool. It's neat that there are so many obstacles in front of Shiraume, but Kiso is presented as the protagonist in the beginning...and he's not a very good one. He's annoying. I would rather see this entire tale from her perspective.
Tumblr media
This scene sums up everything I'm annoyed about. Shiraume KNOWS WHAT SHE IS DOING AND SHE IS WILLING TO DO IT...and yet Kiso, a virtual stranger, continues to stalk her and fret over her like she's a dumb child who is being manipulated. Jin is no angel, but he is never going to sacrifice Shiraume. He loves her to the best of his ability. He is a demon, but it seems like he's really trying his best. Kiso's ultra heroic attitude is just boring in comparison.
Tumblr media
More of this.
Less of that.
Please.

My Dearest Witch - By Mizuhara Chihiro (8.5/10)
Tumblr media
Have you ever daydreamed about being an all-powerful Witch with a doting assassin husband? I'd love to say this is the wish fulfillment story for you, but this is more shonen than shojo. More blood than romance. The focus is war, not tea parties. Also there's fascism.
Luanna is a powerful witch with loving parents who passionately believe in human rights. Her amazing parents believe that people without magic should not be enslaved. Having magic doesn't make you sup...annnnnd they're dead.
Poor Luanna explodes a town by accident too, so she decides to live in the woods alone for a long time.
Tumblr media
Poor tragic Luanna is twenty five now, and she has plans. Basically, she is going to become a terrorist. The incredibly classist Sorcerer Society has more power and land than ever, but Luanna wants her righteous revenge.
Tumblr media
Luanna also has a doting husband. A normal housewife guy. They live in a fairytale cottage together. She's kind of an annoying tsundere around him, but thankfully the author tones that down. Kurs cooks. He cleans. He worships. He is bursting at the seams with love.
He would kill for his wife, and he doesn’t care about her crimes. The destruction she caused is utterly meaningless to him, because she is a kind person. In this world, Sorcerers bring destruction on a whim. Luanna actually feels bad when she causes trouble, which makes her even more special in his eyes.
Tumblr media
They are definitely in mutual love, but Luanna feels like she has to protect her poor husband. She's not willing to give up her terrorist dreams. She MUST give regular people human rights. It's what her parents want and she believes in the cause.
But...that means her poor husband will become a target.
Tumblr media
Kurs is actually The Dios Killer. He worked as an assassin who specialized in killing Sorcerers. We don't know if he was originally supposed to kill Luanna, but now he is obsessed with her and honored to be her husband.
Luanna doesn't want to kill the other Sorcerers. She thinks useful, practical spells and common sense will change the corrupt Sorcerer Society. Luanna is capable of making spells that can fix almost any everyday problem, not just battle. Currently the Sorcerers only focus on battle, so they never reach their true potential.
Luanna thinks they will see the light.
Kurs kills all of the assassins that constantly come after her. Which is extra messed up because none of them are strong enough to kill her. He just doesn't want them to bug her.
Tumblr media
Spirits hate humans, but Kurs has a special connection with them. It makes him outright immune to most spells. He is as overpowered as his bride, but he hides that from her. Luanna is a "tree-hugger" terrorist. She's all about the message. The vibes. She's not willing to bring out the guillotine to bring chance.
Kurs really doesn't know if she will accept him, because he has an extra high kill count.
...and zero remorse about it.
Tumblr media
Yes, Luanna does get annoying. She's a beautiful and special woman and everybody important is in love with her and she thinks logic will save the world from fascism and her idea of war is ideological with no blood involved and she's a real social justice warrior in a cringe way....
...like there are multiple scenes where she saves a poor, regular person without magic and those scenes are clearly just there to make her look cool...
She isn't a bad protagonist though.
Just be prepared to roll your eyes a couple of times.
Tumblr media
The Prime Minister, Androsht, invites Luanna to the capital. He's obsessed with her because seeing her golden magic "saved him". She is his beloved because she is the strongest, but he doesn't believe in her tree-hugging ways. He exists to make Kurs look better. Lets just leave it at that. He doesn't appreciate her kind side. Kurs does.
Tumblr media
Luanna vows to get revenge on the culprit who killed her parents inside the palace...in front of everyone....on purpose.
They attack.
Luanna blasts them all away because she's special and perfect.
She's a one woman army here to save the destitute poor! Cheer for her you magicless maggots!!!!
Tumblr media
Kurs becomes more interesting than her later on. He also wants revenge for his master. The mysterious master who made him so crazy strong. There are a few fights in here that absolutely feel like part of a shonen tournament arc. Kurs knows he's not a good guy, but he's happy to use his powers to kill guys even worse than him.
Kurs and Luanna are already married, sp there's no real tension. They are most certainly not going to break up when she finds out about his bloody past.
They will be fine.
Kurs is a puppy dog house husband yandere who takes out the trash in secret to protect his wife. If you want a more likeable yandere this is a great choice.

The Sacred One Speaks - By Roju (8.5/10)
Tumblr media
An evil witch turns against her own people to save herself. That's what it looks like on the surface, but evil isn't so easily defined in this story. The witch corrupts. The greatest holy knight becomes her obsessed puppet, but the tragic thing is she's not doing anything evil on purpose. She is trapped by her fate and blood, and she wants her awful bloodline to end with her.
McClatt is on a mission. He has to go on a witch hunt. The witches can control beasts, and they sew chaos whenever they settle down. His side is holy. They have the holy blue flame! Said flame totally isn't demonic, and the head of the holy nation definitely doesn't have questionable magical powers.
Their side is pure and chosen by God.
He has never questioned that.
Tumblr media
McClatt is a devoted and pure servant. He has never once questioned his bloodthirsty mission, because the witches do act stereotypically evil. The holy leader, who totally isn't part devil himself, encourages McClatt to keep going. To keep killing. To keep using the blessed blue flame.
Tumblr media
The duplicitous holy head of the nation seems to think McClatt will crumble. The strongest witch will reveal her evil self soon. She is a rallying cry. A figurehead, just like him. Her presence makes the witches stronger and more tenacious.
He is sending McClatt after a target that could kill him.
Tumblr media
The Great Witch has red eyes. Her ability to control beasts is absolutely unparalleled. In fact, her power extends to humans. Her red eyes are hypnotic. She can turn men, women, and children into her slaves by looking at them.
As long as a Great Witch from the strongest magical bloodline exists the witches will never give up.
Tumblr media
McClatt goes to a witch hideout to execute every witch within, except the red one. They need to execute the red one publicly, to break the spirit of the witch army. McClatt is confused when he finds the camp in shambles.
The Great Witch has abandoned her people...
He slaughters everyone he can get his hands on, and yet the greatest witch does not appear.
The witches cry, when they realize they will not be saved from the blue flame.
Tumblr media
The Great Witch, Vienny, is found and dragged out by guards. Ash flies and more bodies bleed, but she doesn’t look all that sad. Her body is covered with scars, and she doesn't seem to feel any affection for the witches who worship her.
McClatt is instantly doomed.
As soon as he sees her he no longer wants to execute her.
Tumblr media
The Great Witch goes back to his territory with him without a fight. His guards are confused. They saw the Great Witch during the battle. She was there. She stood in the shadows. She watched her Witch sisters die, and she laughed. She threw her head back and laughed joyously while McClatt beheaded them all.
Tumblr media
McClatt investigates. Vienny is powerful...but her magic is in her blood. I think you know where this is going. Ritualistic sacrifice. Selfish worship. Pain. The witches that supposedly worship Vienny were using her like a blood bag. Also, her special blood ruined any chance she had to be happy.
There can only ever be one Great Witch.
The special blood is so powerful that it can only exist in one body.
Vienny's mother despises her, because Great Witches lose their power when they have a child. The special blood always lives inside the youngest bloodline member.
Vienny has not been blinded by the cult.
She doesn't want to sacrifice herself anymore.
Tumblr media
She offers him information. Locations. Secret hideouts. She wants every witch gone, including herself. She had lived a life of pain and suffering for too long. McClatt sends a doctor and Vienny is encrusted with festering wounds. The Great Witch was treated like a barn animal by her own people, since childhood. She slowly heals by his side. She thinks he can end her fate. End the cult, and she wants to die knowing there will never be another Great Witch.
Tumblr media
Slight problem.
McClatt is in worshipful, lustful love with her. He thinks she is controlling his brain at first, but she says that's not true.
...he's just crazy.
The holy pope notices his feelings and um...he basically tells McClatt to have a kid with her. Then she won't have her powers. Then he can control her and keep her as his wife. Also...the pope wants the baby so he can use the Great Witch magic to make his nation stronger.
Wow.
If I was Vienny I'd be depressed too.
McClatt probably isn't going to give the hypothetical baby to the pope, but that's messed up.

Tracing the flower funeral - By Komura (9/10)
Tumblr media
Control is framed as a fetish here. "The master is actually the butler" is kind of overplayed at this point, and it's a little silly. How can an employee get away with abusing their unwilling employer? This story writes around that. The "butler" is a powerful man who just so happens to have a fetish for servitude, and he has a favorite lady.
Lady Yurimiya is a wealthy heiress runaway. She had no life back at home. She is a very minor member of a very major family. Nobody in the upper crust is interested in marrying her or befriending her, but she had to follow all of the strict rules anyway. It was a very pointless and boring life.
Tumblr media
Mr. Souichi Nakiri, her "butler", is looking for her. This story gets weirder with every page. Souichi used Lady Yurimiya like a doll, and nobody stopped him. That's...really horrible, but why was he allowed to terrorize the poor woman. Lady Yurimiya can't be treated roughly by a mere employee. That would reflect badly on her family.
Something isn't adding up...
Tumblr media
Lady Yurimiya is not an idiot. She ran away to get a job and live in reality. She dyed her hair. She made friends. She loves her new life.
She tries to reason with Souichi.
Tumblr media
Souichi doesn't care about her logic. He liked taking care of her. Managing her every move turned him on. He misses controlling her, and he wants her to go back to her old life.
She resists.
Really hard actually.
Lady Yurimiya puts up a decent fight.
Tumblr media
Souichi traps her. The situation worsens. The Yurimiya family wants to marry her off to a lesser family, to get rid of her. She will be given to a man who will never love her. She will be the "bride that isn't quite pure enough" for the rest of her days, if she ever gets dragged home.
If she doesn't accept "help" from Souichi someone else will come take her.
Tumblr media
Souichi stays over.
Lady Yurimiya tries to set boundaries, but Souichi disrespects her at every turn. His Lasy Yurimiya is a reserved raven haired beauty. He refuses to accept the blond and bubbly girl she has become.
Tumblr media
The Nakiri family is actually more influential than the Yurimiya family. There's...alot to unpack here. Souichi is "serving" Lady Yurimiya voluntarily. Running away from home was never going to work...because a family even more influential than the Yurimiya Clan has laid claim on her.
The situation with Souichi isn't really explained. He might not be the Nakiri family heir, but he's high up. High up enough to spend his life role playing as an abusive butler.
Tumblr media
He also knows Lady Yurimiya is afraid of him, and he doesn’t care. It reassures him. Fear makes people easier to control, after all.
His insults are brutal.
He tears apart her appearance.
Her job.
Her dreams.
She only needs to be a doll wife for him.
If she refuses her future husband will be a thousand times worse, and a million times more neglectful, than him.
Tumblr media
He humiliates her in public.
He hands in her resignation slip for her, in front of one of her close work friends.
He cuts her important ties for her, before they leave.
He makes her look like a snob too, so her friends won't try to contact her.
Tumblr media
He thrives on her misery and her happiness. Either one is good enough for him. He's obsessed with her. Her smile doesn't matter, as long as he has her. Souichi is an extremely selfish, spoiled and capable yandere. He seems like the kind of guy nobody says no too. Maybe you've met somebody like him. The classic spoiled kid that can't take no for an answer.
That's him, but he's a scary adult so it's extra freaky.

Salty Lust - By Limunchi (8.5/10)
Tumblr media
A desperate yandere? Alien biology? Sounds good to me. The saving grace here is our everyman protagonist. He is a genuinely charming underdog character.....who accidentally seduces an unassuming alien overlord. The sci-fi concept is actually utilized and expanded upon, but be warned this story is REALLY perverted.
Nux of the eighth district is (was) a child prodigy. Originally he was raised on Earth, but he was too smart for the countryside, so he moved up to a satellite station for school. Slight problem. An Earth genius is dumb as a brick on the interplanetary stage.
Tumblr media
Also, Nux isn't from a rich family. So, he's fucked. He's a foreign exchange student with no money. He was banking on getting a scholarship but that's impossible. He's a C rank student in space. He works in an illegal robot production factory to get by.
That is a great start for a protagonist. In my opinion anyway. It's funny without being stupid. Nux has become more rough and humble. He's not the smug brat he used to be. He's a level headed and snarky college student...with no friends. He's too busy working to enjoy his college life.
Tumblr media
This is Owen Asperier. He is a type of alien called an Asangard. His mother planet is super far away and his species kicked off hyperspace travel. Without the Asangard species space travel in general wouldn't exist. The Asangard people are by far the richest and most advanced race around. They reproduce sparingly. Their medical technology is just too good. Asangard natives live healthy, long lives. So, the urge to have kids is rare. Rare but not impossible. An Asangard can pick a partner they like by smell. They look human on the outside but it's implied that they can change shape a bit to please the partner they pick. That's kind of a secret, though. Most people believe Asangard natives are sterile. Attraction is rare for them, and their actual culture is shrouded in mystery.
Asperier owns ten planets.
He's technically an exchange student, but it's weird. Like, as a reader you can tell he's there to be in charge of a lab and other important stuff. Yet, he poses as a student and he acts friendly. Even though he's literally powerful enough to have everybody on the satellite killed.
Scary...
Tumblr media
Nux meets Asperier in the hallway, and he's drunk. So drunk...and maybe on drugs? He's super aroused in public and it's very awkward. Nux drags the man back to his own room out of pity. Plus Asperier throws him some cash as thanks. The money is helpful. Nux doesn't spread any rumors, but he avoids Asperier. It takes a week or so but Asperier eventually tracks him down.
He wasn't drunk. He was reacting to Nux. His species acts...out when they find a partner. The robotic overlords turn into barbarians when they find a mate. Asperier is........really pathetic about it. He begs for simple things like touching for ten chapters and he reacts to those things...dramatically.
When he slowly starts pushing for more Nux realizes he's in trouble.
Tumblr media
Sure, the money is good.
Great, actually.
Asperier sometimes literally passes out from pleasure with just touching, so he looks kinda harmless and silly at first.
Then problems start to pop up.
Asperier always knows where he is.
Asperier has more authority than the professors. Nobody can protect him.
The stalking gets very intense. Asperier cries cutely like he's pathetic. He looks like a clingy and stupid yandere for a while, but then it clicks. Nux has absolutely no privacy, and Asperier has absolutely no limits.
Nux even has a breakdown, because he is afraid he will be enslaved by Asperier.
Tumblr media
Oh also the school is corrupt. It's a dog eat dog competitive place. Other students work illegally. It's common. Nux knows his classmates steal his stuff to boost their own grades and get rid of the competition.
This is Gale. A thief who uses illegal pleasure androids.
Asperier starts to suspect that literally anyone near Nux is also attracted to him.
Nux, of course, protests because that's ridiculous.
Asperier doesn't let it go though. He has only ever been attracted to Nux, so he suspects that Nux is super popular.
Even though he isn't...
I'm really not sure if Gale is going to survive.
Asperier's logic is very...barbaric?
Tumblr media
Also there's two of him. Nope. Wait. There's five of him. One Owen is on the mother planet. One is in the army. One is MIA (traveling in space?). Two Owen's are at the school with Nux. One of the two, Asperier, is the main body. Asperier gets jealous of his other piece/self when Nux pays more attention to him/it.
Let me explain.
Hyperspace travel is weird.
Asangard natives have multiple bodies. That's why they are such a dominant species. Some of them have twenty bodies at once. So, when you fight an Asangard you're dealing with a one man super-army. Even if you manage to kill one that one still has a spare body hidden on the mother planet. It's implied that they can live for a very long time using this method.
It causes...some problems. All five versions of "Owen" want to be with Nux now.
The one in the army has already deserted, and he's on his way. Also, the five are all slightly different. The army one is the meanest toughest one...so good luck!
Tumblr media
After Asperier is done beating up one of his Owen's for Nux's attention...Nux diffuses the situation. He gets good at that. Asperier is easily distracted by dates, hugs, and gifts.
Nux keeps falling deeper into panic, because things somehow keep getting worse.
Nux gets to know Asperier.
His cute side isn't really an act. Asperier really is happy. He's glad he has a partner he can feel lust and love for. He's willing to use cash to lure Nux in, and absolutely everything else. He's even willing to shut down illegal work factories to force Nux to take his money.
Tumblr media
Shit gets really real around chapter twenty. Asperier's end goal is clear as day. Nux calls him out for it. He has to start appeasing the overly desperate yandere, or else. He could lose his legs, or even worse his freedom in general.
Asperier tells Nux he has Asangard blood. How? I'm glad you asked. The mother planet started a breeding program 1600 years ago. Pure Asangard natives had basically stopped breeding by then, so sperm samples were donated to create offspring with Asangard DNA. Specifically to create decendants who would be attractive partners for pureblood Asangard natives.
After almost two thousand years the Asangard natives have a decent pool of potential lovers to choose from.
That...is so deeply fucked up. Nux's bloodline was purposefully laced with Asangard catnip. He had no choice in the matter. He is just one of many potential mate prospects. He's almost all human, so in his logic he doubts how real Asperier's love is.
Tumblr media
They cuddle together, but somehow the plot continues to escalate. This one is funny because it's uncomfortable. Nux is pretty relatable, which helps as well. I can't even guess how messed up this will be by the end.
I am curious about the plot, but only 22 chapters are out. There are three more Owen's to meet, so hopefully this will be a long story.

I Thought I Didn't Have Long To Live! - By Ari Choi (8.5/10)
Tumblr media
A funny romance protagonist. What a breath of fresh air! Funny girls don't usually mesh well with yanderes, but it works here. Our heroine is obsessed with finishing her bucket list before her early death. So, she ignores all of the red flags. She marches up to the Legendary Monster Duke, and she says she wants to date him casually. Just for the hell of it.
Lariette is a good daughter. She does paperwork. She helps her father hold up his failing family. She puts up with her bratty brother. The problem is her family doesn't value her. She's pretty, so they try to sell her to an old rich guy. When Lariette gets diagnosed with Too Much Mana disease she knows she's doomed.
So, she beats up her ugly fiance and she leaves.
Lmao.
Tumblr media
She's super good at purification magic, so she decides to sell her marketable skill...wait. Purification wizards are not in high demand. Healers are easier to use. So, she's broke. Lol. Her bag gets stolen too. She gets saved, violently, by a handsome man.
Tumblr media
Asrahan is a Weird Duke. He got cursed when he was really young. A witch gave him rotting flesh, and the eternal stench of death. He's handsome, but his cursed body is repulsive. He's very lonely. Only a mega strong purification wizard can save him, and he hasn't found one. No one is willing to go near the living corpse.
Lariette isn't affected by his aura, because she's even more powerful than she thinks she is. She's good with fire and healing, but she doesn’t know she's on par with the pope.
She asks him to date her. He says no and she offers a purification contract instead.
He accepts.
Tumblr media
She sees her relationship with him like this.
Her efforts to seduce him are all fun and games to her.
Tumblr media
He sees their relationship like this.
Try to think about it from his point of view. People have been vomiting in fear at the sight of him since he was like seven. Now, a gorgeous woman sings his praises daily. Plus, she makes the smell go away. It's a slow process though, because his curse is a nasty one. They get even closer because of it. Purification is super draining. He appreciates the pain Lariette goes through for his sake.
Tumblr media
Poor Asrahan turned to violence as a young man. His mom died too (of course) so he went to war to be surrounded by other corpses. He is the strongest guy around. His nasty aura makes him a hard opponent to beat too. It is sad though. Asrahan gets along great with his butler, but he has no friends his age and zero experience with women. Even though he's twenty seven. That's rough.
Tumblr media
Lariette's old fiance tries to punish her for leaving. Asrahan immediately beheads the men he hired. He cuts off the old man's arm as a warning too. Asrahan doesn't completely accept his feelings for a while. He really sees himself as a monster. He isn't going to let Lariette leave though. Every time he thinks about becoming pure and free of the curse...he isn't happy because that means she'll leave.
Tumblr media
Priest Doha is a great character, because he's not a real yandere. He's possessive because Lariette is special. He does fall for her, but his attraction is rooted in selfishness. Asrahan doesn't think he's good enough for Lariette, because she's so wonderful. Plus he also slices heads off. He beats priest guy no problem. Lariette chooses him. There is no contest.
Tumblr media
Lariette rushes their dating life. Asrahan gets jealous of Doha and they start dating. Lariette wants to do it all before she dies. She also thinks Asrahan is experienced, with lots of past girlfriends. She can't comprehend how scary the corpse thing is, because she can't sense it. Asrahan doesn't handle being in lust for the first time well, but he tries his best. Consent. Cool!
Tumblr media
Every other character sees Asrahan as a cold guy. Just because he killed thousands of men and his skin is purple and he sometimes goes into berserker rages blahblahblah. So judgemental.
I'm kidding.
Lariette realizes she messed up when the doctor says she's fine. She got misdiagnosed. Immediately after that she has to face the consequences. Asrahan is very kind to her....and that’s it. He doesn't need anyone else. He's so used to being alone. Having love is more than enough fulfillment for him, which is bad. She's got a life to live, and she won't get any freedom if she stays with her corpse boyfriend.
What a pickle!

The Hidden Man - By A-Bam (8/10)
Tumblr media
The plot is obvious. I can see right through it...until it gets foggy. This is a story about two brotherly best friends. They're kinda losers, but they try their best. One gets hit by a car, and he comes back different. How different? Well, he could have a disassociative personality disorder. Or, he could be a different guy. He looks the same though, so good luck trying to figure that out!
Taehun is a weird sort of everyman. He's 24 and decent looking. He gets sexually harassed by his female manager constantly, and he feels like he can't complain about it. He eventually quits over it. It's a sober start. It sums up his personality. No drama. No fight. He leaves and he looks for something better. The issue is bullies love to follow Taehun, because he's such an easy target.
Tumblr media
You literally know which one he is based on what I just wrote. His character design and flaws all line up really well. Taehun is kind, normal, and a bit of a pushover. He feels superior and more cool when he hangs out with his best pal Wonu. Wonu is movie star handsome. Girls literally whisper about him when he walks by, but he still lives with his mom. He's trying to make it as a guitar player, and it's not working out. He's too shy to flirt with girls too. He's also super clumsy. Taehun catches Wonu when he falls. It makes him feel powerful. I'm not saying Taehun is a bad friend, but their relationship feels a teeny bit codependent.
That's about to get worse.
Tumblr media
Taehun gets drunk after he quits. Wonu gets hit by a car on the way back. He's in a coma for a few days. Taehun blames himself. He often blames himself for the bad things that happen around him, or to him. When Wonu wakes up he's different. Taehun can't not notice. Wonu suddenly isn't a pushover. He doesn't trip constantly and he doesn't care about his guitar.
Taehun is wrecked by guilt and worry.
Tumblr media
Muhyeong claims he is Wonu. Wonu has a split personality that conveniently hasn't come out in like a decade. Muhyeong knows everything about Taehun, and he genuinely seems to like Taehun, which is bad.
He doesn't like anyone else.
Tumblr media
Wonu's ex Eunji appears. This is a weird moment. Muhyeong lived behind Wonu's eyes. Wonu loved Eunji once, even though they broke up and stayed friends. She still flirts occasionally, but she is a normal and cute girl. Muhyeong doesn't like Eunji, but he claims to like Taehun because Wonu liked Taehun. Then he admits it. He's tired of being pushed around. Taehun is the only friend that didn't drool over Wonu in a sexual way, or use him as an emotional punching bag. It's a mess. Muhyeong likes being free with a friend by his side that can be trusted.
Tumblr media
The creepy manager lady shows up at Taehun's home to harass him. Muhyeong threatenes to kill her like on the spot. She turns up dead the next day.
Taehun needs to focus on his new job. Real life. Something awful happens. He goes to the funeral and he gets blamed for her "suicide". Her death is apparently on him...because he didn't accept her romantic advances.
Ew.
Tumblr media
Taehun suspects the split personality he just met because...duh. But...Muhyeong is very offended...then it's revealed he didn't actually kill her. Or maybe he ordered somebody to. It's not all clear yet.
Tumblr media
Muhyeong is learning how to manipulate Taehun though. Its scary. He tells the bold truth. The old bitch was a stalker, and she abused her power in the workplace. She used company files to look up his damn address. She was an asshole. Her death doesn't have to mean shit to him.
He's right but...
Tumblr media
Taehun here is an empathetic guy. That's why he likes babying Wonu. Being cold about death isn't his thing. It's very hard for him to let go and accept that the manager who harassed him doesn't deserve his pity.
Tumblr media
Eunji is writing a horror novel which parallels the story of the webtoon, which seems suspicious. She was dating Wonu when he started "acting weird" too. It's also implied that Muhyeong just isn't Wonu, even though he knows everything about his life and friends.
I have no idea what will happen next.

Remarried Empress - By Alphatart (9.5/10)
Tumblr media
I've waited a long, long time for this. I'm not sure if this review will offend anyone, but here I go. I am not insinuating that Remarried Empress is a traditional yandere story. Obsession is not the focus. Especially not during the first season, but longtime readers know the drama eventually boils over. Delusion, denial, and love all clash during the fabulous finale. The line between villain and hero blurs in a beautiful way halfway through the story.
Spoilers for everything (I mean it) ahead!!!
Remarried Empress is well known for its seamless magic integration. Fantasy webtoons are infamous for clunky, wordy spellcasting systems and magic schools with zero charm.
That is not the case here.
Magic is a plot point that has little to no relevance during the first quarter of the story. We get hints. The issue grows. We get drama from the very beginning, from the perspective of a powerful woman trapped in a toxic marriage. The woman in question is the Empress, Navier, who has no magic whatsoever. Magic is an important political power tool. It doesn't magically make you more important. Lots of badly written stories love to give their protagonists fantastical magical powers, as if that power gives you the ability to rule.
This is not the case here.
Navier gains magical powers at the very end of the story. It is part of her happy ending. It is not the reason why she is successful in her political endeavors. Navier loves ruling. She was raised for it, and uprooting corruption gives her joy. Drama and sparkles are not her source of power. She is a borne and true politician who recognizes that the nobility cannot prosper without happy, healthy common people. She receives magic when her duplicitous and extremely loving husband decides she is worthy of it. It's sort of a wedding gift. Yes, it's a very morally dubious part of the story. The magic imbuing process starts without her permission.
(I won't spoil all the details. Don't be too mad at Heinrey.)
Tumblr media
Navier is from the Trovi family. Her family line has produced multiple Eastern Empire ex-Empresses. Magic is on the decline. The Eastern Empire has less active wizards than ever before, and they can't figure out why. Luckily the nation has a steady Empress and Emperor to rely on. Naiver and Sovieshu have a good relationship. She loves him more than he loves her. They mostly live separate lives. They don't even eat together every day, because they are both so busy, but Navier trusts Sovieshu. They were raised together as children. The priest who married them thought they would be different. A rare, happy royal couple.
Tumblr media
Souvieshu ruins that lifelong relationship when we brings in a runaway slave. The lovely young woman, Rashta, got caught in one of the Emperors animal traps! How awful! He takes responsibility for the terrible accident. He carries her to the doctor on horseback the way any decent man would.
He almost immediately makes her his Official Mistress. There is a formal title, as mistresses are common for Emperors. Naiver has to go through a humiliating process. She has to welcome, and give a spending allowance to, the woman her beloved husband is sleeping with. She even has to throw parties for the woman her husband is currently spoiling instead of her.
Ouch.
(Yes. You are correct. It is revealed later that the accident was no accident. Rashta jumped in harms way in a desperate attempt to escape her shackles as a slave. A slave who had a bastard child with her owners son. When said son decided he didn't want to lower himself and marry her Rashta dolled herself up. She ran into the royal woods looking gorgeous on purpose. She would have been a cool protagonist, in another life, but she's just not tough enough to survive royal intrigue. In her desperation she loses everything. It does sound tragic, until you get to know her. Rashta is a child abusing, bloodthirsty, narcissistic tattle-tale by the end of her story. I'm sure you can guess how it ends.)
Tumblr media
Throughout season one we see how integral the Empress is to the East. At first it seems like everyone favors the Emperor, but things are not what they seem. Empress Navier runs a tight ship. She doesn't need to be babied like Souvieshu. A gap slowly begins to grow between them. His incompetence starts to shine bright when he lashes out at his Empress. He blames her for every little problem his Mistress encounters. Including the problems Rashta makes up to cause unnecessary drama. Rashta makes little mistakes that pile up over time. Her allies aren't very strong, and she is never honest with anyone. She talks like a cute idiot on purpose, but that backfires when she can't find a teacher willing to put up with her as a result. She can't catch up to Navier. A genius couldn't. Navier has been privy to national secrets since her youth. Trying to catch up on that much reading...just isn't possible for a regular, but gorgeous, slave. Also, Rashta is desperately hiding her slave status. Rashta starts to copy Navier in obvious ways, and Navier is refreshingly human about it. She hates it. She tells Rashta to learn on her own, and she isn't always diplomatic about it. Her complaints push her into an intimate but platonic friendship with the Prince of the Western Kingdom, Heinrey.
Tumblr media
Heinrey has a special kind of magic. He can turn into a bird. He uses his bird form as an excuse to stick close to Navier, because he's carrying a MASSIVE torch for her. It is not just a crush. He's bitter about being younger than her. If they were the same age he would have gotten the chance to woo her, but Souvieshu was the most convenient and familiar choice for her family. Navier was a couple years out of his reach. He thought he would have to sulk about losing the chance to have her forever, but then Souvieshu stirs the pot. Sidenote Souvieshu is very insecure. He expects his Empress to love him over everything. He got upset when Navier...you know...did her job well. He wanted his wife to be drooling over him constantly or something. It's weird. He is also quite sexist. This becomes more obvious as the story goes on. He treats Rashta like an object, and he loses interest in her after less than a year. That's suspiciously fast. He is only using Rashta to satisfy his craving for cute attention. It's quite pathetic. They both are.
Anyway moving on.
Heinrey "visits on diplomatic business", but in reality he's planning to take over the East. Yeah. That's something. The writing is really on another level. I had no clue whatsoever until later on. He also stole the magic by the way. Yeah. Heinrey is the reason why their magicians just can't cast anymore. An adorable young student despairs before the Empress about her crushed dreams in tears. All while Heinrey is just standing there, in the background, completely aware of the fact that he is the cause of her suffering.
He's a pretty scary guy.
Navier eventually agrees to flee the country and marry him.
Tumblr media
Rashta's lies leave no other choice for her. Rashta falls pregnant. Navier has never been pregnant. As the woman, she has always received the blame. Cough. Sexism. Cough. Souvieshu is actually infertile due to a childhood accident. He, of course, is completely convinced that Navier is the infertile one. Rashta is carrying another baby that belongs to her masters son. She is willing to put an illegitimate child on the throne to get power, because she doesn't know any better. There are certain things peasants just don't know. A magical paternity test exists. It involves droplets of blood and a mixture of special water. After Rashta gives birth to a child that looks nothing like Souvieshu he gets wise. Souvieshu makes Rashta Empress (temporarily) for the sake of "his" child. He always intended to remove Rashta from the Empress seat, as soon as "his" child was seen as legitimate by the court of law. His callous attitude is what convinces Navier to leave. She has always loved her husband. She loved him more than she thought she did. She put up with real pain to support him, but he decided to remove her from her Empress seat. She didn't know he graciously planned to take her back after the divorce, but it doesn't matter.
The incident proves he never respected her, so she leaves with Heinrey to become the Western Queen.
The West isn't really as powerful as an Empire yet, but oh! Wait! As soon as Navier is crowned and by his side Heinrey proclaims that the Kingdom is an Empire now.
How convenient!
Tumblr media
Heinrey is pretty and morally grey, but he is a good husband. He worships the ground Navier walks on. When rumors about her infertility start spreading he does not give a crap. He has ways to fix the issue if it's true, and if she's actually not the infertile one he's ready to kill whoever started the story. His bird form is cute enough to be a marketable plushy. It's shitty that he lied about being a bird for the entire first season, but Navier needed comfort. He provided it how he could. As a pet. Yes I know it's weird. Navier wasn't willing to befriend him at first though. He had to use his adorable bird body to bring her guard down!
Wait.
That makes him sound worse...
He's a good husband though.
I swear...
Tumblr media
This is Christa. The young dowager Queen of the newly formed Western Empire. Heinrey's sick brother kicked the bucket. Now Heinrey is Emperor and he's brought a foreign Empress home. Slight problem. Christa is in love with Heinrey. She uses a spiked love potion, and a man who is madly in love with Naiver, in an attempt to seduce him and destroy the couple. Christa is pathetic, like Rashta, but she's a little smarter. Her love for Heinrey is the weakness that brings her down. She kills herself after she boldly claims that Heinrey slept with her, in an attempt to become his Mistress. Heinrey produces proof that the affair doesn't exist...and Christa doesn't recover mentally.
Fair warning.
Remarried Empress gets darker and darker until the ending.
Heinrey throws a party, to celebrate Navier's pregnancy, right after her death.
Suddenly I don't think Heinrey is cute anymore...
Tumblr media
This is Grand Duke Kaufman. He falls in love with Navier. He accidentally used a love potion he was experimenting with. It turns out that the potion effects are extra strong when you already have a crush. Kaufman never intended to act on his feelings, but the potion eventually turns him into a madman.
His story ends after he attacks the Empress.
I think you already know how that ending looks.
Tumblr media
Rashta ties everything together really well as a villain. She looks like an idiot, but for a commoner who didn't even know how to write she does pretty well. Her idiotic copycat act is a distraction. It cleverly hides the mastermind behind the scenes. Heinrey. Navier had no clue Heinrey was in love with her when she accepted his proposal. She accepted it because she was desperate to rule. She didn’t want to watch Rashta take her place, and Heinrey took advantage of that.
He sweeps her off her feet. They live happily ever after, but the pile of bodies behind them is quite steep.
(Souvieshu realizes he made a mistake as soon as Navier marries Heinrey. He starts drinking heavily. He travels to the West again and again to beg her to take him back. He quietly goes insane and he eventually loses his memories. He lives on thinking Navier is still his fiance, and everything is the way it used to be. Navier will always love him. That's his drunken dream. When his memories return he begs yet again and he says he'll accept Heinrey's children as his own, because they have her blood. Her goes seriously insane in six different ways. He also basically forgets Rashta ever existed.)
