Once again, I do not jive with terms like platonic attraction, familial attraction, etc, etc. The word "attraction" has such Specific Connotations attatched to it that I don't think transfer well to situations other than romantic or sexual feelings.

I don't know, maybe I'm making a mountain out of a mole hill, but it makes me uncomfortable to have those feelings almost foisted off on me because so much of the aro community has decided that it's a feasible term.

#this is exactly how i feel and i refuse to use those terms or be associated with adjacent identity labels #do not call me alloplatonic. we will have a fucking problem. #that is not an appropriate axis for attraction labels #aro blogging #lemme know if this isn't cool to rb koko #i just think about this a lot and i'm really fucking uncomfortable with the way the aro community pushes it #especially trying to force aro to automatically encompass things like aplatonic too #as if that is like........ a comparable category of experience or relationship #not everything has to be an axis of attraction #sometimes things are not well described in terms of attraction #please stop trying to tell people they are bigots or whatever for not finding that to be a helpful or appropriate framework #to be clear im not taking this from anyone else #i dont have that power lmao #but nor am i comfortable with using those terms or concepts #or the push to automatically force any conversation in aromantic community spaces to include them #and that doesn't make me a... whatever-phobe #that makes me a person who does not think that is an appropriate framework #for an axis of attraction #based on platonic or familial feelings #and there is no structural whatever enforcing that. you're not going to talk me out of that.
