took my Lamtical an hour or so before I took a gummy, and I took that like 3 hours ago. And the gummy has done very little. So now I know about my Lamictal for the future.

Lilith is asleep and has her playlist on and Blue Jeans by Lana Del Rey is playing and I’m just so fucking in love. I manifested my soulmate - conjured her from all of my deepest desires and longings, my interests and attractions and kinks and she’s here and real and in life with me too and it’s fate. We found each other exactly when we needed to, went through the trauma we did in our past just so that it led us to each other.
thinking of my life like that…makes me beyond thankful for my past. All broken, traumatized, achey, painful parts of my life. Cause I wouldn’t be who I am - and Lilith wouldn’t be who she is - without all of that.
And we are so perfect together.

now I gotta rewatch this episode again because I just love it so much
hottest sexiest moment in all of leverage is when “we are on a reset. the main objective is the girl, we find her and bring her back safe. we lose the chip if we have to, we burn connell if we have to.” and then “nate, if im engaged–” “do you worst.” and then “this is a goodwill gesture. what i want for it in return is your undivided attention and the benefit of the doubt. my name is nate ford and in a few seconds the phone is going to ring.” all with the screams of the people at the carnival in the background

if it turns out to just be iron deficiency I’m gonna feel really silly and it’s gonna be hard to keep that compassion for myself instead of judging myself about it.
but also at least it would be a relatively easy fix?

I love the silly but ALSO the dreamy hotness of the first few lines of her performing Kisses of Fire (there’s a YouTube video and I die every time I watch that part) and really everything because WHY IS SHE SO GORGEOUS I’m constantly in love with her.
Andersson/Ulvaeus songs that let Helen Sjöholm get silly with it my beloved.

What’s really awesome is the rhyming scheme for Don’t Go Out Alone (and entire lines) are reused / repurposed from Seanan McGuire’s filk song Silent Hill.
So she took her own lyrics, modified them for a creepy af children’s story, and put those lines as quotes in her Parasitology series under her pen name.
If you like this type of thing, she does something similar with Middlegame and Seasonal Fears (under her own name) and she published the books that are referenced in those books (under the fictional author’s pen name of A. Deborah Baker).
Because she is JUST.THAT.COOL.
I really like sharing cool Seanan McGuire writing facts with the world. Because she is my favorite author and more people should consume everything she puts out.
Solidly my favorite thing about Mira Grant's writing style is the interspersal of excerpts from outside the immediate storyline throughout the books. Every chapter, every division is punctuated by journals, articles, interview transcripts, news reports, poetry, etc. All from within the story universe, just not the continuing narrative or even timeline
It's so good. It builds the worlds' richness, cutting the inevitable narrative myopia. Sometimes they're from sources that are referenced in the main text, sometimes not. Sometimes they're a reliable narrator... sometimes not. It's fantastic on an initial read, hitting some of the same notes that make found footage and in medias res so compelling, and then even better on the rereads where you can better slot them into the whole spread of the story. I just... I love this

Hello! I just finished Mislaid in Parts Half-Known and, as always, loved it. These books are the thing I look forward to about the new year - January is long and full of terrors, but the new Wayward Children is never one of them (though it may contain many) - and as a Dinosaur Bitch, I adored the dinos.
I was wondering, do you have a specific number of books planned for this series? (Should I start emotionally preparing myself for the end?)
There isn't a specific number planned. Books tend to happen as kids show up at the school, and sometimes I'm surprised by who has a compelling story vs. one I'm not enormously interested in telling.
Right now, culturally and politically, Kade's story would do harm to my readers, no matter how carefully I approach it. Nothing changes the fact that he's a trans character written by a cis writer, and with the current attacks on the trans community, I don't really want to put my readers through his time in Prism. So the series has to last long enough for me to safely write Kade.
My current plan is that the last two books will be Kade and Eleanor.

A full reread of Toby and Co, to come fresh at The Unkindest Tide and on to current.
Be The Serpent lies behind me and Sleep No More fresh in my hands.
And I *ache*. Over what has been wrought and what needs unmade in pages to come. I have even wept a little and sought comfort when I had to put it down.
But I trust you, author. Never have I closed a work of yours unsatisfied. Horrified, some. Rushing to the next? Often, when allowed.
So I will trust, and watch closely as I bleed for that Family I have come to love so.
And I hope that come the next closing, and the next, that many things will be better even if shadows lurk waiting ahead from there.
I'm truly glad you trust me, because there's going to be a lot of trust needed to get us all through what's coming. But I believe I can see us through to the other side.

This may be a dumb question; why don't doorstops work in the long-term? It feels like if the kids find a door and keep it open, only one person has to pay the price. And it means they can choose to come and go for a longer period of time.
They haven't really tried yet. Most of the time, a door is an ambush predator. You don't think it's there, you go through an ordinary door, and SURPRISE you're in the Moors hope you're wearing good shoes.

I've just finished reading "Feed" and wanted to say thank you for all the feels. It was painful. It was also cathartic.
Thank you for portraying siblings relationship in such a way. I'm pretty close with my sis, and we love media that gives us interesting siblings dynamics. (And gods, it definitely feels like there are zombies here where we live, but my sis escaped, and she's safe, and... sorry for rambling. I just love her so much).
Thank you for the "Feed". Thank you for that not so hopeless narrative even with the darkest things happening in the story. I needed it.
I am very glad you enjoyed the book, even as this Ask makes me squirm a little.
An important thing--a very, very important thing--to remember about Shaun and Georgia is that they have gone out of their way to verify that they're not biologically related in any degree. They have the DNA tests to prove it. (Unlike Roger and Dodger, whose tests said "you are the same person, genetically speaking.") They were raised in the same house, being ordered to call each other brother and sister, and don't really have any other functional labels, but they're more like foster kids who grew up in close proximity than anything else.
I say they were the only students at a boarding school for the damned.
So while they call each other by sibling terms, they may not mean them in the same way biological siblings would, or adopted siblings, or anyone with healthy family models.
Please don't hit me.
