You do ballet, right? What's the most difficult thing about ballet for you?
Do you incorporate ballet moves in your crime fighting? What is your favorite move to incorporate?
PSA: don’t wear pointe shoes unless you’re properly trained or have awesome spider powers, kids!

Okay here's an ask game
Send me a ship and I'll answer three questions based on if I ship it or not.
What made you ship it?
What are your favorite things about the ship?
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
Don't Ship It
Why don't you ship it?
What would have made you like it?
Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it?

1. What made you ship it?
In all honesty... I watched Nelson v. Murdock and got to the line “really, really good-looking guy” and screamed HE’S BI and then the thought of Foggy having an unrequited crush on Matt was too sad to exist in my brain so I just went “no they’re in love actually”. I now have canon citations that it’s requited, but initially it was purely an act of my love for Foggy Nelson and desire for his happiness.
2. What are your favorite things about the ship?
I love how clearly important they are to each other, whether you see it as platonic or romantic. Even if they pull apart from each other, they always spring back together in the end. I love how unique their dynamic is, especially in superhero media, where civilian characters are tossed aside all the time; Foggy stays, and I think it’s because there’s something lovely about him and Matt together that draws people in. I love that Matt is genuinely this scary kick-ass guy, but Foggy just thinks of him as “oh yeah that’s my best friend” first and foremost. I love that Matt is unequivocally pro-Foggy, that he respects his intelligence and skill and thinks the world of him. I love that you can see them bring out the best in each other (or the worst, in Earth-65, lmao). I also love the fandom, because like... It’s full of very nice and lovely people. :)
3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
Uhhhhhh... I... Don’t know? What are the unpopular opinions...? I’ve definitely disagreed with other people, or preferred a different dynamic, but idk what’s actually popular.

@themattfogblog mattfogweek day 3: window yes they're baby
[ID: digital art of Matt and Foggy as cats meeting through a window. Foggy is a brown tuxedo exotic shorthair with the rounded features wearing a little green bowtie. Matt is an orange tabby with a little bit missing from his right ear, as he was once a stray. Matt is on the outside, on a window ledge, and Foggy is on the other side, lying on his tummy. Big round eyes. He's in love. They both are.
Foggy's human, Kirsten, is in a pink robe in the background looking on in curiosity and a little concern because she knows that Matt's a rascal. End ID]

Save a fanfic writer, leave comments on old fics
There is this a peculiar set of reasons and biases when it comes to NOT commenting on AO3.
They are all false, but here they are:
Do not comment on old fics
Do not comment on each chapter of a multichapter
Do not comment if the author left the fandom
Do not comment if the author doesn’t respond to comments
It can be summoned up as DO NOT ACT LIKE YOU ENJOYED THE WORK AND YOU LIKE THE AUTHOR.
It comes from the idea, that if you leave a comment on my old work, or leave too many comments, I will think you are strange, clingy, and gross.
Readers are imagining it as commenting on an old Facebook photo — only your granny and creepy strangers do that.
That is not the case with AO3.
Writers put their works there for long-term storage, and we expect, wish, and hope that you will like our works and tell us about it.
This all very interesting, not, but why should I care?
This has awful consequences. Fanfic authors feel constant pressure to create more and crippling fear of being forgotten, useless, and being literally kicked away from fandom.
I’m online friends with a few great fandom authors, who wrote storied with thousands of kudos, but ALL of them at some point expressed this fear. Very talented people told me, “I’m not sure if I should have ‘writer’ in my bio. I didn’t post anything new in the last half of a year.”
Some young or entitled readers might say, “Hm, well, they are right. They should create MORE to be relevant. Isn’t that a good thing to push authors to write more?”
For better or worse, life doesn’t work like that. We are talking about real people, who go to real schools, have real jobs, families, and all the other important things outside the fandom. Some of them might push to create more from that fear, but most would only get more frustrated and depressed about the whole fanfic writing.
So, please, if you like the work comment on it.
Even if it’s old, even if it’s a multichapter, even if the author doesn’t have time and energy to interact. Especially in all those cases.
Encourage your authors, and show them your support.

My version of Comics-Verse-Spidey. He’s stupidly pretty and I regret nothing.
I got a new platform to draw digitally on for Christmas and whenever you start a new medium you feel like a newborn art-colt wobbling around on spindly and dumb newborn legs. And you wonder if you ever knew how to draw in the first place. But then you figure it out XD.

"i would die for you" this, "i'd walk through fire for you that"
what about "i'd live for you" romances? what about "i never thought i'd be worth the work it would take to piece myself together"?
what about "i don't believe i'm worth it, but for you i'll try"

I really wish I had done something special for each day of the Matt / Foggy week for @themattfogblog . But unfortunately my week was quite unusual. Having Asperger's is a roller coaster ride sometimes.
Anyway, I like to think of our boys having a well-deserved family day off. And in case you're wondering, their little girl's name is Karen Jackeline. Jack is ginger like Matt was at her age. Emotional and sensitive like Foggy, but brave and angry just like Matt. (Zoom in for better image quality)
ID: Digital drawing of our three characters sleeping on a white silk sheet. Foggy is wearing a loose green sweatshirt and green shorts, his mouth is slightly open and his hair is tousled. His arm is on his little girl protectively. Little Karen is sleeping in the middle of the two and has her leg, elbow and hand grazed. She has red hair, and she is wearing a green tshirt and a white shorts. Matt is facing both of them and has a hand touching Foggy's wrist. His hand and chin are bruised. He's wearing sweatpants and a green T-shirt. His legs are over Foggy's. End ID
