So... I need help. You see... People are so good at drawing Ratigan. So... Is there any refs or shapes that shows examples of how to draw him? I saw some of the refs on Tumblr but to me it wasn't enough for me. I want to know how to draw him in different angles. It would help a lot.

Yeah, let me tell ya… Ratigan is probably the most difficult GMD character to draw. So I don’t blame you for struggling. I don’t know what references you have checked out, but here are the ones that really helped me. Model sheets from movies are usually very detailed and good with showing different angles and contain little tip notes. Another thing you can do is look up screenshots from the movie. I hope this helps!!

I can’t believe my new most aesthetically pleasing art piece is a gay mouse and even gayer rat

So me and my roommate have been rewatching The Great Mouse Detective yesterday and she said “Like, everybody already headcanoned that they are bitter exes, and they are really accustomed with these roles, but can you imagine how it was in the very beginning of their rivalry”, and I was like “you bet I can”.

So the POV is that this is one of their first encounters as enemies since the break up (after Basil found out that Ratigan is a criminal and was like “it’s either me or crimes”) and there was a chase when at some point Basil trips and is about to fall down the roof, but all of a sudden he is being saved by his rat. So…. the ✨tension✨🤌🏼

This week I updated the Professional Artists page with some brilliant draft-to-final artwork of Basil of Baker Street by Illustrator Scott Milton Brazee. Scott created this beautiful image of the mouse detective for Disney Lorcana trading cards. The first series is due in the fall of 2023 and is appropriately called Disney Lorcana: The First Chapter.
