Ice ado being cancelled feels like having a passionate love affair with a guy who goes off to war and his letters get less and less frequent and you worry but you still have faith and wait patiently. Then people say they see him around with younger women and he’s back from war and he’s just not telling you. And in your heart you start admitting the truth but you still hold out hope even in radio silence, until one day 7 years later you get a short letter from him saying he’s found someone else and is moving on. And it still somehow manages to break your heart

Also the cancellation tweet by the official Yoi account has got 7.2 million views within a day and the Yuri on ice hashtag is trending on twitter. Victor’s va Junichi suwabe retweeted it saying how sad he was that the movie wasn’t coming out. I hope mappa sees this and are fully aware of how much this means to people and what a fumble this was

I'm so freaking upset about the cancellation of the Yuri on Ice movie. I can't believe that Mappa won't produce the movie. YoI literally made that freaking studio famous back in 2016. That anime was MASSIVE! Literally broke the internet, aka every side that provided the episodes, legal or illegal sides.

People like me started to actually watch and care for figure skating! Professional figure skaters PERFORMED to the ost!!!

And remember how the entire team for the ost went of tour in like 2017??? Because I remember that! I freaking watched the live stream on YouTube!!!!

It's just freaking ridiculous, seriously. I don't understand why Mappa is stopping the production of such a big franchise.

I really hope that Mappa ends up selling the ip for YoI so that a different studio can give us a movie or a new season.

It's so upsetting how MAPPA treated Yuri On Ice. I wasn't expecting any big updates on Ice Adolescence any time soon but I had a little hope for a 10th anniversary event or something. I'm so disappointed right now

people keep saying MAPPA kept us waiting for iceado for 8 years and like i guess they're counting the time the anime was airing for in that or something?? but actually the movie was announced on april 29th, 2017 which is just short of almost exactly seven years ago. just a little more than 2 weeks from now and it would've been 7 years to the day since they told us at yuri!!! on stage that a movie was coming. which is only the tiniest bit less absolutely insane and fucked up than if it had been 8 years. they also said they were planning to release it in 2019. i genuinely will never trust MAPPA enough to get invested in an original anime from them ever again.

My grief cannot be measured. Yuri on Ice has been part of my life since it aired in 2016 😭

I hope that we can keep the fandom alive.
